I can't decide if we want to rent or bring a stroller. I hate folding it up to get on and off buses to and from parks. My niece is four... Renting in DTD sounds like a pain.
What do you do?

I would bring your stroller. It's quite a walk from where you have to drop off the stollers to the buses. This could be a problem at the end of a long day with a tired 4 year old.

We didn't have a problem getting the stroller on and off the bus. It's kind of a pain, but I'd think it's a bigger pain (and more expensive) to rent a stroller.

Does anyone know whether wegoshop will buy a cheap umbrella stroller?? Or if Walmart or someone will deliver one to a WDW resort?

I can't decide either! But I'm thinking of bringing a umbrella stroller for night time. My 5yr old can get quite kranky when tired.:confused3

We prefer to have the stroller for the airport, and for the sometimes long walks in the parking lots. We also prefer having a stroller with a basket below, and the strollers at WDW don't have a basket. On the other hand, the WDW strollers are well made, and very easy to push. We didn't have any difficulty folding the strollers for trains, trams, and buses.

If you bring one, make it a light umbrella one. :thumbsup2 You can buy a good one for $25. Renting for 3 days will cost more than that and you can't take it with you outside of the parks.

We have always brought our own stroller. When DD was a baby, I thought when she was bigger I would just rent a Disney stroller, but then I found that as she got older, she didn't need it as much in the parks as she did later in the evening when she was tired and we were leaving to go back to the resort, at which point if we had rented, we would no longer have the stroller. I also like having a basket underneath for storage of all our 'gear'. On our last trip DD was 6 and we still brought the stroller. She hardly rode in it while in the parks, sometimes just to get from one side to the other quickly, but used it a lot as we were leaving, and I always used it to cart our stuff around, so I was glad to have it. It's a Maclaren Volo umbrella stroller that is very light, folds easily, and holds up to 55lbs.

Our upcoming trip is to DL and DD is now 7 so I am torn about bringing the stroller. DL is smaller and she's bigger and can probably handle all the walking....LOL, the only question is, can I handle carrying all the stuff without a stroller! :lmao:

I e-mailed wegoshop.com and asked.

Marge, the associate owner, just emailed me back. She said sh can purchase things like strollers.

I think that's the direction we'll probably go. I'll ask her to get me a cheap umbrella stroller and have it delivered along with the groceries. It will be well worth the price of the stroller to have one, not to have to wait on line to rent one, not to have to ship it down or deal with it in an airport.

If it survives the week I'll pass it on to someone.

I would do both. Rent at parks when your 4 year old is tired. Bring the umbrella stroller for DTD, etc.

Personally, it gets aggravating for me having to fold up the strollers all the time. My umbrella strollers don't have shade...

I am actually bringing 2 strollers. I am checking in my dubble stroller. I will use the dubble at the parks since I will have both girls by myself while dh takes our 8 year old on the bigger rides. I will also be bringing the single stroller to use for the airport.

We went out and bought 2 lightweight yet sturdy umbrella strollers for $10 each prior to our last trip (September '07) so our good (and larger and heavier) strollers didn't get eaten by the invisible airport monster, etc. Also, we didn't feel like we had to worry so much about loss or damage. But you will want something for the airport. Bags, luggage, couple of kids - think about it. :thumbsup2
