To rent a car, or not rent a car...

that is the question.

We will be at SSR for 4 nights and then OKW for 4 more nights June 11 - 19. This will be our first trip home and we are going crazy with anticipation! Last year we stayed at All Star Movies in late June. We were miserable taking the buses since it seemed to take FOREVER to get anywhere and we often had to wait for a long time to get a bus to go back to our resort. In previous visits we had not had this problem, but we were off season and staying at different resorts.

Therefore, I have booked a car for this trip. However, now that I am planning out our itinerary, I see where we are never leaving the Walt Disney World Property, and with Magiacl Express, may not need the transfers.

So to make a short question, long...

During June 11 - 19th, how bad (or good) do you think the bus service will be from SSR and OKW?

I'd rent the car, it's so convienent to be able to go where you want and when you want. The only time I ever use the bus is to go to MK and then only if I know if I'm going directly back to my resort.
Makes grocery shopping easy, and also if you plan on dining at any of the other resorts it's a real problem trying to get to them and back, there are no buses from resort to resort without changing buses at some common stop like DD.
It would be better from SSR because you could walk over to DD and take a bus to any resort, but I would imagine a lot more difficult from OKW.
You didn't mention if you will have kids with you, but if you do and maybe using strollers that can be a hassle also if buses are crowded, been there done that, never again.

Just FYI.

We rented a car last time and used it a couple times to check out other things in Orlando (we even made a trip to Vero Beach).. The car was handy to use, but we could have done without it.

Also, if you are going to rent a car make sure you check out mousesavers.com as the have some codes which will make the rental cheaper.
