To Renew AP and take discount or not?

This is my first time buying an AP Power Pass.

It was activated last October 10/22 for our trip down to HHN. We got our money's worth out of it with 2-3 more additional trips. We planned our HHN trip this year on the 14th this year, a week earlier, so we can squeak in one more trip with our AP.

I was going to buy another AP the next time we went down - early December.

However, as a first time AP holder I didn't know (or forgot) that they offer you a discount to renew your AP. However, the renewal date would start again on 10/22 and not 12/1 (our next trip).

It is a nice savings $144 per pass vs. $190 on the website.

I guess it is a no-brainer to renew, but figured I'd ask here to see if they sweeten the deal if you don't renew - "we want you back" offers? I'd love to have my AP start in December, that way I could go to HHN in late October 2013 and if my next trip is in May of 2013 then I would buy the pass then. An agent told me that they do have a 30 day grace period, so I could renew in November - but it renews my pass from 10/22 not from November.

However , to save $90 on the passes (2 of them) - I think I should renew

Let me know if I'm missing something.

If you can save nearly $100 bucks on renewing, go ahead and do it!

They may not allow it, but I'd ask if you could upgrade to a preferred at renewal. I know they will let you downgrade. The renewal for a preferred is only $15 more.

I hope they let you upgrade. I was planning on doing this for my kids so we didn't have to worry about blackout dates for their passes.
