To Pal Mickey or Not to Pal Mickey...

We have a DS4 and DD2 and will have one stroller. We are trying to decide whether or not to buy a Pal Mickey for our 4 day trip in May. This will be the first trip with the kids. We have a little mad money in the form of Disney Dollars that we are planning to just "blow". What do you think?

We were at WDW in December with my 6 year old DS and twin 2 year old DD's. We purchased one Pal Mickey that did not work at all, and discovered that the computer/battery compartment was turned backwards. We exchanged it for another one, and we never did discover how to make it work right. He never said anything unless we squeezed his hands, and we had several cast members look at it and couldn't figure out what was going on. I don't know if we just purchased two "bad" Pal Mickey's, but we didn't try for a third! Sorry - my experience was that it's just not a "needed" item.

We brought Pal Mickey with us to the parks every day and really enjoyed having him. He's in every one of our photopass shots!

He only gave us ride wait info once, like
"Hey Pal, I hear the wait time at Star Tours is less than 5 minutes, let's go check it out!"

and schedule info once, something like
"The parade is going to start soon. Main Street is a great place to watch it."

But he had a ton of stuff to say in World Showcase & in Animal Kingdom.
Then he really did feel like a personal tour guide. In fact, as soon as we played what he had to say, he'd vibrate again immediately.

I got him off Ebay for less than 40 including shipping so I thought he was worth it.
