Hi all,
Been checking out this board and I'm glad to see so much informative information and polite responses....so hello and glad to meet you.

I was FW back in 1983 as a child and i'm sure its changed a dozen times over...but im sure its still great!!! I was in Dw again in 2008 in Dec and stayed at Caribbean beach...

Now alot more of the family is planning to visit DW in early Dec...I think we are going to choose the cabins at FW just because of the size/price versus the more expensive villas...I've been doing my homework and have found alot of info because of this great site...but still have some ?'s.

I thought i read somewhere some of the cabin loops have newer cabins? which loops? better cleaning service people?

Are the cabins numbered numerically in each loop...as to be able to not only pick a loop but a specific cabin in a loop so we can be at front back middle of a loop?

In early dec(2-11) is it crowded at FW and is the internal transportation as bad as some people are making out to be? will prob still rent at least one cart just for neccesity...

And i assume the buses travel counterclock wise from main entrance...

Use to have counter service at crockets tavern but no longer?
The closest counter service w/meal plan is a boat trip to wilderness lodge or contemporary?

These are my biggest concerns...Im sure i will come up with more questions in the coming months as my family discusses our trip...thanks all...can't wait!!!

All of the cabins were refurbished 2 -3 years ago. I'd say all of the mousekeepers are equal.

The cabins are numbered. Since you can't pick a site #, the best thing to do is request something specific. Such as, close to transportation. Inner loop away from the road, etc.

It shouldn't be too awfully busy early Dec.

The closest QS by WDW transportation is WL and CR, PO is also a close drive by car.

The busses are very convenient. Internal busses have three routes, basically one from the Outpost through the cabins and on to the Settlement, one up the main drag(generally the west side of camping loops), and one up the east side past the other loops. These are not precise pictures of the routes, but there are three. Each one runs every 15-20 minutes or so, depending on the level of ridership at the time.

You will see a lot of decorations around that time, so a GC may be a benefitdepending on how many people you have. We have our own, but often walk from our campsite to a bus stop for a ride to the Settlement or Outpost. The GC is very useful for a run to the trading posts and for looping, and if you don't want to wait on a bus, it's an easy ride to anywhere in the Fort.

Enjoy your trip.
