Tyler, besides WL and the DVC resorts, are you aware of any other resort that isn't taking faxed requests anymore?Originally posted by Chip 'n Dale Express
...A lot of resorts are now asking that all requests go through CRO or the call center, because of the extreme fax volume... they're getting so many requests, it becomes more than they can handle...

Not sure at this time, but my guess is that by the end of the year, all resorts will have followed suit.

I understand about too many faxes, but what else can you do? We had a big issue at AKL this past trip. My brother called and made the ressies and informed him my mother had a heart condition and couldn't walk very far distances at a time. They assured him we would be close to the food court and bus stop. They told him to call back, to CRO, a few days before the trip and remind them. He called back a week before the trip, again assured this would be no problem. He didn't put on there 'disability' b/c my mother is not in a wheel chair and didn't want to go there. He also told them the sooner we got there the better. We were at AKL by 11:00 am. When we arrived, our rooms were ready- but on the END of a wing on the oppposite side of the building as the bus stops and food court- in other words, as far away as possible. And the wings at AKL are very long! I spent over an hour talking to 'Jesus' (that was his name) at check-in. He said the request was there but there was nothing about a medical need so they fill it. I told him there was a medical need, he asked if we had papers to prove it- which we did- and he then took 4 hours to get our room ready. He then informed me we should have put 'disability' on our request if we wanted it filled. He was very rude. Anyway, I don't want to go through this again. We are staying at POFQ- which we chose b/c it is so compact and walking distances shouldn't be far from anywhere. I reuquested the same thing- close to the bus stop and food court. I'm not worried about this trip b/c of the small resort. Still, what can you do to insure your request will be taken seriously?

The CM at CRO said she put medical reason by it- but the guy at check in said it didn't matter unless the word "disability" was used. It was explained thoroughly to the CM at CRO why we were asking for this and she said it was noted that we had a person with a medical concern. CRO even told us to bring a letter from the doctor in case they asked at check-in and said it would be no problem in this kind of instance. The guy at check-in insisted this didn't matter unless it said the word 'disability'. Anyway, I really think the guy at check-in was not well-informed about his job, which is not necessarily his fault I realize. He knew nothing about the resort- could not answer questions about the different saavannahs or anything. He even told me in chatting that all the savannahs had the same animals- another CM politely overheard this and corrected him. He may have been new. Looking back, I wish I would have asked for a manager or someone different. We've been 4 times with my mother, always ask the same thing and CRO put medical reasons, and have never had this kind of problem. Again, I wish I would have asked for someone different or a manager.
