To Magic Express or not?

I am driving down with the kids to Orlando Thursday and checking in to the YC early Friday morning. My husband is flying into MCO around 5:00 PM on Friday. I have arranged for him to take Magical Express to the YC. He is concerned that this will take too long and thinks it would be faster for me to come get him at the airport. We want to try to go to MK that evening for a little bit since we are only in for the weekend.

I'm concerned about it being rush hour and would prefer to chill out at the YC pool and wait for him

Approximately how much more time does Magical Express take as opposed to me picking him up?

Assuming he's not checking luggage, I'd guess between 30-45 minutes. That's assuming a 20 minute wait to board the bus & leave, the bus going slower than a car, and stopping at other resorts before yours.

Keep in mind that's also at least 90 minutes out of your day... 40 minute drive there, get there early, wait for him to exit, then 40 minute drive back. And what if his plane is late?

I would not ask my DW to pick me up in the same situation.

I would have him take DME. First - you will have to pay tolls to/from the airport. Second, traffic....the DME bus seems to sail right through. Depending on how quick the bus leaves MCO and what stop number he is - I would bet that worst case is half hour difference in time. Best case - same time.

I didn't even think about his plane being late. That's a good point.

It might be faster for him, but what about you? I agree with the other posters that he should take ME. Traffic at that time is going to be heavy and with tolls and everything it will just be a pain for you. ME is easy peasy.
