To little to late but for future stays

I don't understand how they are misleading people.

The value room descriptions are pretty clear about what size bed are in the rooms (As has been every hotel I've ever stayed in… before I make a reservation, I check the room descriptions and can tell ahead of time if they have double or queen beds.) Now, if Disney were stating that value hotel rooms have queen or king size beds and they didn't, THEN I could see how that would be misleading. But Disney does not do that at all...so I don't get how they are misleading people. A double bed fits two people, so a room with two double beds fits four people.

Come to think of it dh and I did sleep on a full before becoming official

I just need to read more and respond less maybe I well learn something

Okay Tink, here goes. I understand that you are a worrier, I am as well. I also understand that you want this upcoming trip to be perfect. It will not be. Once you accept that there are going to be situations that are not within your control, you can begin to enjoy all of the planning and anticipation a Disney World trip entails.

I really want for you and your family to have fun on the vacation. Full beds or Queen? Does that really make a difference? Look at the whole thing as an adventure, and know that if you encounter something that really is a problem you have plenty of resources here on the DIS to help if you and your Mom and DH need feedback. The little things are going to be the beginning of all the memories you will share when you return home.

I was told to let go of the notion that everything was going to be perfect

It helps that I well see my parent plenty between now and our trip

And dh and I are considering going back for the rest of the parks plus AK

Thank you for this. It is SO true and, in fact, it is sometimes the things that go wrong that can bring a big smile to your face years later. We still laugh about a family vacation to Chicago when we were caught out in a rainstorm. The strong wind made our umbrellas less than worthless. We looked like drowned rats by the time we made it back to the hotel. Ah, good times.

My parents were married for over 40 years and never owned anything but a double bed. My husband is 6'3" tall and he's a big guy, and we can sleep comfortably in the double bed, too. You just have to get close and cuddle up.

A queen is only 7 inches wider than a full/double bed so not much of a difference in size at all. Two people can sleep in a double bed.

Actually, just to be nitpickey, queens are 6" wider (fulls are 54" wide; queens are 60".) They're also 5" longer.

So two grown adults can fit on s double it well just be tight

ETA I think deep down my mom knew this before booking she just wanted each couple to have some privacy
Absolutely two grown adults can fit in a double bed. While it's not twice as wide as a twin bed, it's called a double because it fits two adults.

Have you ever seen the tv show Roseanne? The parents are large people, and they have a double bed. I know it's television, but people do it in real life every night.

I guess if you really want to be "nitpickey" then you should have the facts straight. A regular full is actually only 53" wide and a queen is 60". The last tine I did math that equates to a 7" difference. A full size long is 54" but not a standard which is what is being talked about.

I think WDW is very upfront about the bedding available in the value rooms. Each family can decide from that info whether that room will work for them or not. There is no deception on WDW's part.
