To Infinity & Beyond - Day 2 - Cafe Mickey

This was such a brilliant, unforgettable night, where we took so many photo's and I would love to share a few of them with you all. Therefore, I am going to write it in 3 sections, all under this thread, so please, keep looking until it is complete.

What a night this turned out to be. As we arrived, we were seated right at the back end, on the lower floor. The boys were given a roller picture to colour in and crayons.

We started with really scrummy, moist garlic bread and all had cocktails, even Jordan.

For starters, some of us had the tomato soup, while I had the mushrooms, and Lisa had the Caesar salad.

It was all beautifully served, and the roast garlic and bread served with the mushrooms were delightfull. As we were eating, we had a visit from Friar Tuck,

and Minnie Mouse at our table, which all the boys loved. Max fell in love with Minnie & kept kissing her, which really touched Becks, and certainly filled granddad Kebins eyes a little. The look on Becky's face in this first picture really sums up the way we all felt:

Max is still telling everyone that Minnie is his girlfriend, but please, don't tell Mickey!! While I was filming all this, we had a visit from other board member Debbiebee, but it was a little hectic around our table, so didn’t get to chat properly or get the group photo that we had planned. I’m sorry about that Debbie maybe next time? I think they had finished their meal & were just leaving, which is a shame, because they missed all the fun that was yet to come.

Cafe Mickey - Continued

We had chosen to go for the 30 euro fixed menu, so next we all had steaks for our main course, all cooked to perfection & served with fries and a lovely onion sauce.

Both the younger boys had pasta which was shaped like mickey, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

It was difficult to concentrate on enjoying such lovely food as there was too much going on, first the wonderful Tigger came over:

Then the totally insane Pluto gave the boys lots of sloppy licks, but Becky came in for very special attention from this totally loopy but loveable canine.

As if it hadn't been special enough, the night was about to turn into one of the greatest nights of our lives.

Cafe Mickey continued

Next we had the great mouse himself visiting us, the boys had really looked forward to this and squealed with delight as they saw Mickey approaching:

Just look at the look on Max's face:

All the characters had given lots of attention to the boys, and Pluto had certainly taken to Becky, and then Suddenly, the place went wild, as the cast members got up on the tables, and all the characters started dancing to Freedom. I had seen clips of this on You Tube, but you really had to be there to experience the atmosphere. Jakey was dancing away with the best of them and this really was incredible. I will try to add the video footage later, as photo's could never catch the atmosphere. As that particular song finished, all the characters made their way to our table, to deliver Lisa’s birthday cake and sing to her.

This was a truly unforgettable moment, which I will never forget as long as I live. The sight of Jakey dancing with Mickey was truly remarkable, and we were now really living the magic.

Our deserts were delightful. I had the Crème Brulee:

Some of the others had the delightful Apple Pie,

while we also had coffee served with amaretto biscuits and a lovely little custard based sweet.

The boys helped themselves to the buffet style sweets, which they loved.

So before we knew it, a remarkable experience was over, and at over 300 euros it certainly was not a cheap night, but I would have willingly paid that much just to see the boys dancing with the characters. the fact that the food was so nice was a bonus.

We had a good look around the village, taking in the atmosphere, before heading back to our hotel, posing for photos looking back towards the village. Unfortunately the balloon was not operating while we were there, but it looked lovely reflecting onto the lake.

We had a good look around the hotel, before getting back to our rooms at around 10-30pm.

Another fantastic report, it certainly brought back some wonderful memories of our meal at Cafe Mickey to celebrate my daughters 21st! Goofy paid particular attention to her that night and pulled her up to dance to 'Freedom' as well. Like you we have some wonderful video memories of the birthday cake and the dancing. Well worth the money and we also thought the food was lovely.

Our booking was for 6-30pm, which seemed about the best time to go, as the kids stayed awake and there was loads of character interaction as you have seen. Day 3 is now complete, so I hope you all enjoy that one too.
