To Infinity and Beyond - Becoming a Better DopeyBadger (Comments Welcome)

Yes I might be glad for last week’s training week in Ohio. It definitely helped for the temps this morning in Atlanta. Yes it was 30when I ran this morning. I know warm for a lot of you. I was a good temp but I had on a lot of layers.

I'll be in the minority of runners that'll probably be completely comfortable.
Low 60s to mid 50s is ideal for me. I wouldn't say no to anything about 35 though. After that I start to wonder why I bothered travelling to Florida. I still have positive degrees in my weekend forecast though. I can't imagine what it's like in Wisconsin.

As @canglim52 said on Strava, time for some CAT instead of HAT for some southerners. Might be some "Cold Acclimation Training". Look for your local meat market's walk-in freezer with a treadmill in it.

Yea, my wife rolled her eyes when I told her the weather report. Still better than here, but not quite the pool weather she was hoping for. What's it like in Wisconsin?

Ha! It was 26 during my after work run yesterday and my face and hands were frozen! I live in the south! I do not have the right running accessories for this weather! Today will be a TM run as it is currently 31 and I don't feel like freezing again! I know a lot of you deal with much colder temps but this is the south! It isn't supposed to be 13/14 degrees overnight and never get above freezing during the day! Ok, end rant. :cold:

That's truly the key part. I've got some nice cold weather gear that makes it tolerable. But since about 4-5 months of training per year are cold I need to make that type of investment.

+10 for the Cool Runnings gifs

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! Jamaica, we have a bobsled team! Drive my husband crazy singing that. LOL.

My first marathon was halloween themed with a costume contest. There was a group of four runners dressed head to toe as the Jamaican bob sled team! They were the winners for obvious reasons!

@DopeyBadger that is amazing! I found one that is what me getting ready for the marathon with those temps will look like! :rotfl2:

Those are great temps for racing, but I worry they might be too chilly for my relaxed plan of easy running and stopping for pictures. I really don't want to have to modify my race outfits for cold...but then again, 38 degrees is about 30 degrees warmer than it is here right now, so I'll take it!

Bummer that G is sick. Hopefully she'll be feeling good by the time you leave for Disney. My entire family has a cold right now, snotting & coughing all over, except for me. I've been washing my hands raw and disinfecting the house like crazy!
