A friend is staying at the Contemporary. Would you recommend that she walk back to her resort after the Pirate and Princess Party, or wait for the resort monorail? I think Contemporary would be the 3rd stop, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, how long is the walk between MK and the Contemporary?
Thanks!

We always walked between the CR and MK when we stayed there. It is an easy 10 minute walk.

I think that the CR is the first stop on the resort monorail from the MK, though.

CR is the first stop from MK. Depending on the crowd, we either took the monorail or walked. It is a 10 minute walk or so. Depending on the kids moods too!

going back it is the first stop.

MK - CR - TTC - Polyn - GF

depends upon how she feels. the CR is so close - sometimes is it the same time.

you may have to wait on the monrail. then sometimes there is a problem (with the lights) and it can't enter the CR for several minutes.

Thanks for the replies.....sounds like the walk might be a better option, since I'm sure there will be a line for the monorail after P & P party is over. Then again, maybe her feet will have to make that decision!

Our feet always made the decision for us, or should I say DS9's feet!:lmao:

When we went to the P&P Party this past Feb. there was only the resort monorail running. It was very crowded at the end of the party because everyone parked at the TTC had to take the resort monorail. I would walk to CR.

For the Resort Monorail, it goes:

Transportation & Ticket Center-Polynesian-Grand Floridian-Magic Kingdom-Contemporary

For me, the walk was 4 minutes from Contemporary to Magic Kingdom, but my dad & I are fast walkers, so it would be around 5-10 minutes for a normal pace. If you're leaving Magic Kingdom as closing hours, there will be a long line for the monorail, so I'd take the walk. But if you're leaving in the middle of hours, the line will be very small, and the monorail would suffice.

If you have a small child who is exhausted you may want to wait on the monorail. I had to walk it once after a long day and when we got out of the Magic Kingdom the 3 year old was asleep - we opted to walk anyway - big mistake - carrying a 3 year old that far was exhausting.

Weather the OP's friend takes the Monorail or walks back to the Contemporary, either one is a good idea. My opinion is this is one of those wait and see questions until it's time to make a decision.
