We were there on June 5th and had a cabana so here is our experience.
We had a party of 4 Adults and 4 Kids, 1 being 20 months.
* Having a place for the kids to play, especially the baby without having a wide open area for them to try to run off in made the day much easier when we were getting ready to do things and needing a place to go for some downtime.
* Sand and Sun without beach shoes are a bad thing

Since we were not smart enough to bring the shoes then having some shade around the sandy area for the kids was also nice. They were able to build sand castles and such without getting legs, feet and hands burned by the hot sand.
* Having the fridge there for bottle water/drinks was really nice and our attendent left lots of snacks too, so we did not have to search for drinks/snacks at the huts.
* Knowlegeable attendent made our Dolphin swim much better. Since they booked us all together and could not move us to a new time I was thinking I was SOL since I had the baby. He informed me that they have babysiters that would watch DD on the beach. NO ONE else had told us that, even at checkin when I complained about it.
* Peaceful, if I did not have the kids it would have been a nice place to go and get away from it all

Being able to watch dolphins jump out in front of you while have a beer or glass of wine was pretty amazing.
* The new ones will have fans from what I am told and better fridges
For us the cost was well worth the extra money. When we go back I would get one again without a doubt.
