Is it feasible to take the ferry from MK to The Polynesian for dinner at Ohana's, and then back? If so, how much time would you allow? I'm planning my first trip and don't really have a feel for time management. When is the last boat back to the park? Can I get back to my car easily? Sorry, the ?'s just keep coming. Advice?

not the big ferry, but a boat is available to/from the poly, with stops at the GF. allow about 15 minutes.

as you exit the magic kingdom, the boat boarding is to the right side just past the monorail enterances/exits

marked "resorts" and will say which ones.

Thank you. Can you get back to MK if it is already closed? I just want to make sure I can get back to my car.

The TTC is adjacent to the Poly. If you drove your car to the MK, it is in a parking lot near the Polynesian. If the MK is closed when you are leaving 'Ohana, there is no need to go back to the MK. Just walk to the TTC and go to your car or take a tram back to your parking area from the TTC.

Have fun!

I agree with your suggestion.

Is there a reason you wouldn't take the monorail from MK to the Poly? I think they generally come more frequently than the little ferry boats.

we always like to take the boats back to the poly..after going there on the monorail..just to "decompress" and relax.

but we have taken the resort line monorail also.

The monorail would be fine with us. What other resorts does the monorail connect to?

The resort monorail goes in a loop from MK, to Contemporary, to TTC, to Poly, to Grand Floridian (and around again!) It sounds like an awful lot of stops, but usually it moves right along. It can be very crowded at park opening and park closing, and after the 3pm parade and after fireworks.

So, if you were to drive to the MK, you would park at TTC, and could ferry or monorail to MK. To go from MK to Poly, you would monorail (take the Resort monorail, not express) or take the boat (which is a lovely trip, but probably longer than the monorail. When I've taken it, it stops at GF first then boats on to Poly.).

While being very cool the monorail does take longer than you'd think to make it's rounds. I'm from NY and it's not nearly as efficient as the subway (although it's 1000x cleaner, nicer and safer!!!). Still we were surprised how long it took to take the monorail all the way around the loop. Not really complaining just trying to set expectations.

I have checked abbreviation posts, but for the life of me I can't find TTC. Can someone help the newb? :confused3

Fantastic. thank you so much! I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what exactly people are talking about.
