Those of you that own a Flip camera...

Opinions.

Happy you bought it?

Things you like about it?

Things you don't like about it?

:flower3:

I love mine. It's really easy to use and I love that you can just plug it into the computer and download the videos. The only thing I dont like is that the zoom isn't great..but other than that I love it!! Can't wait to bring it to Disney!!! Hope that helps!

Flip, Flip, Flip!!!

I bought mine shortly before travelling to China to adopt my DD in 2009. I've had it for 17 months now and still use it daily!! It's super easy to use, download to computer, charge and send movies to family and friends or upload to youtube, etc.

One of the very best purchases I ever made!

The only downside I've found is that because of it's ease of use (and being mom to the cutest little girl in the entire world!) was that I subsequently needed to but a portable HD to move my flip movies too as I was killing the memory on my computer.

It's a purchase I don't think you'll ever regret! So tiny it fits in your pocket so it's easy to keep accessible. Go for it!!

Have one, not too fond of it so now it's passed along to the kids to make lego movies with. :thumbsup2 Like the pp's mentioned, no real zoom and inability to use a memory card, as well as having to be "something else" to bring along just wasn't convenient. I use my P&S camera that shoots HD vid ALL the time, for both vid and pics, the quality is better and I can zoom and adjust the settings if necessary to compensate for the shooting environment.

I LOVE my FLIP! Super easy to use and cheap! Mines a few years old...I got it for $80 bucks...would love to upgrade to the newer version!

We had a Flip, but it broke after only two months..... We replaced it with a Kodak PlaySport that we LOVE! It's GREAT to have with a baby!

I have a Kodak and love it. Light and easy to use. Turns on quick and, for the size and price, quality is great.

Don't forget that with the Flip you have to have the computer -- at WDW, in China, wherever you are.

Just a portable hard drive won't do.

I love my flip! When we were at WDW DH would record movies of DD interacting with the characters while I took pictures with the digital camera. I also recorded Wishes (from the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party) and we watch that when we are missing Disney.
I wish it had a memory card, but I haven't yet run into a problem where I've ran out of memory. I also wish it took a battery of some sort so I could carry and extra battery with me if needed.
I love how tiny it is and easy to use.

I don't like that it doesn't take a memory card.

That's what I don't like either. I ended up having to take my notebook so I could download the videos from the day from the camera so we would have a fresh camera for the next day. My mom likes the camera because it's lighter the other camera she had. We got some practice with it at my son's 2nd birthday party a couple of weeks before we went to Disney. It was super easy to use.

I had one, a Flip Ultra HD. Love it, but there are a few nit picks about it. 1.) You have to plug it in to charge 2.) You can't replace the battery 3.) It's not waterproof & the waterproof case is HUGE. After mine met it's demise - I ended up getting a Kodak Playsport. I love it because it's waterproof, you can buy extra batteries, it's pretty light weight, and you can also take pictures with it.

Huh??? mine takes AA batteries...different models must have different battery types.

To the OP, LOVE my Flip :thumbsup2 Love that I can stitch and edit shorter videos together. Great with a baby/kids to catch those quick oh so cute moments!

If you have the Flip Ultra HD then it does take batteries!! I owned mine for almost a year before a friend showed me where the batteries go! Boy did I feel silly! It was actually at Chef Mickey's last year that she showed me because I was disappointed that my low battery light was coming on.

To get to the batteries, slide the lock button across at the bottom and then slide the front off. Pop out the rechargable battery pack, put in a couple of AA batteries and voila...you're back in busines!!

Can't believe I didn't know this. Hope it helps you too!

OMG thank you so much! I totally did not know that! I bought this camera last May so I've had it almost 1 year.

Is it regular AA or the lithium or anything special? I'll have to look online. LOL
