"To Disney & Beyond" ~ Road Trip 2010 ~ Final Drive & Final Thoughts

Yogurt parfait for breakfast? Yum!

Rope drop is definitely the way to go when it is the middle of summer and there are crowds! You packed in lots of fun rides and pictures into your morning!

I would have joined Captain Jack's crew, too!

Oh, and I have to tell you that Charles saw your picture of the fish and chips from Cooke's and said, "Why haven't we ever eaten there before?" I guess we will be trying it out in the future. LOL!

Awww, nothing like rope drop at MK!! Love how competitive you guys get over Buzz! I would be if I thought there was a snowball's chance of me beating DBF, the video game expert!
That picture of the partners statue is framed perfectly by the castle. It really is a gorgeous photograph! Even with the people in it.

Sassagoula Floatworks Food Factory looks like a fun place to eat. I just love the masks hanging. Love the pictures of you and Chris. You two are very photogenic. Nothing like a good Buzz competition. I usually lose. Looking forward to the next update. Thanks for sharing.

Love the pirate pic. I really hope to make rope drops too. It really looks like you can accomplish alot if you do! Loving your report!!!

Man, oh many, you guys lucked up when it came to wait times. You were able to accomplish so many things in such a short time.:thumbsup2

I love the fact that you make sure you get lots of pictures of you both together. We seem to hardly have any when we go away. Do you ask someone or set up a timer on your camera?

They are lovely!

Rope drop at MK is definately the way to go to get lots in in a short amount of time. Besides, IMO, nothing beats the opening ceremony! :goodvibes

It looks like you guys got a ton of things done before lunch! I think I may have to attempt rope drop, just for MK even :goodvibes
Definitely hit MK for rope drop if you can...we couldn't believe how much we accomplished that morning! :thumbsup2

Looks like nice sunny sky, was it extremley hot out? I know it has been here in VA all summer
YES...it was very hot and humid! But, at least it didn't rain! ;)

Gotta love rope drop! You can get so much accomplished in a short amount of time :thumbsup2
It was GREAT!!! It had been awhile since we had done a rope drop prior to this trip......think it's going to become part of every trip!!! :woohoo:

Wasn't the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It party fun? We saw it in December and thought it was pretty cute.
LOVED it...The song was so catchy and we were just dancing along with it!

You make a fearsome pirate!
:rotfl2: You know, after I look back at the pictures, I often think, "What was I doing?" Chris was just rolling...he loves when I make my "crazy faces!"

Welcome!!! :yay:

It looks like you had a beautiful day to be in the Magic Kingdom!

I'm excited to hear more!
It was hot, but gorgeous!!! The sun was out and we were so happy to be there!

Yogurt parfait for breakfast? Yum!
It was very good!!! It was nice to have it offered as a snack credit too!

Rope drop is definitely the way to go when it is the middle of summer and there are crowds! You packed in lots of fun rides and pictures into your morning!
I agree!!! I don't know why we hadn't done rope drop on many of our previous trips...what a time saver! I couldn't believe how much we accomplished with NO LINES! :goodvibes

I would have joined Captain Jack's crew, too!
:rotfl: I just LOVE him!

Oh, and I have to tell you that Charles saw your picture of the fish and chips from Cooke's and said, "Why haven't we ever eaten there before?" I guess we will be trying it out in the future. LOL!
I was so glad we tried it for the 1st time! If you, Charles, and your kids like fish and chips, it is fantastic!!! Of course there are other choices, but I think I only saw the fish and chips and I was sold! :rolleyes1

Awww, nothing like rope drop at MK!!
That's the truth...it was GREAT! :thumbsup2

Love how competitive you guys get over Buzz! I would be if I thought there was a snowball's chance of me beating DBF, the video game expert!
Well, that's kind of what I'm up against with Chris too, but I STILL try to beat him...every once in awhile it works!

That picture of the partners statue is framed perfectly by the castle. It really is a gorgeous photograph! Even with the people in it.
Thanks so much! :flower3:

Sassagoula Floatworks Food Factory looks like a fun place to eat. I just love the masks hanging.
It was very cool! I couldn't believe how big some of the masks were when we got close to them!!!

Love the pictures of you and Chris. You two are very photogenic.
Awww....thanks so much, Cheryl! :flower3:

Nothing like a good Buzz competition. I usually lose. Looking forward to the next update. Thanks for sharing.
I usually lose too, but I'm always ready for that "once in awhile" when I pull away with the victory!

Love the pirate pic.
Thanks! :goodvibes

I really hope to make rope drops too. It really looks like you can accomplish alot if you do!
DEFINITELY try to make rope drop, especially at the MK. I still can't believe how many rides we were able to just walk-on with no line! :thumbsup2

Loving your report!!!
Thanks so much! :flower3:

Man, oh many, you guys lucked up when it came to wait times. You were able to accomplish so many things in such a short time.:thumbsup2
It was truly unbelievable! We kept expecting to see the lines forming, and it just didn't happen. We felt very fortunate and very happy! :woohoo:

Lesley, looks like you and Chris had a great time! I get giddy too at the mere *thought* of being at Disney! Just like MeMom, these guys describe how I feel! :jumping1: ...and, these guys too! party:

I love the fact that you make sure you get lots of pictures of you both together. We seem to hardly have any when we go away. Do you ask someone or set up a timer on your camera?
I try to make a point of having us get pictures together. We do both...most often we use our tripod and set the timer on our camera. However, sometimes we'll have someone take a picture for us too! :thumbsup2

They are lovely!
Thanks so much! :flower3:

Rope drop was FANTASTIC...I still can't believe how much we accomplished! I agree...the opening ceremony was so cute! :goodvibes I LOVED how the characters arrived by train...it had been so long since I had last seen the show!

Lynne, looks like you and Chris had a great time! I get giddy too at the mere *thought* of being at Disney! Just like MeMom, these guys describe how I feel! :jumping1: ...and, these guys too! party:

We DID have a great time!!! Isn't it great how you never lose that feeling with anything Disney? :goodvibes

Just caught up again. Loving all of your photos, of course! :goodvibes You really captured some great shots of Pooh, the Peter Pan sign, in Small World - and of the parade. Love the Mickey parade photo, it's really, really good!

Lynne - You may have mentioned this before but I missed it if so...What type of camera do you use? Also, you mentioned you used a tripod on the other parts of your trip; do you use a tripod in parks too?

just trying to catch up. sorry i've been MIA!

loved the llama/camel experience in gatlinburg! so cool! oh, and those green bugs, those are what we call june bugs here. not sure if you guys have them in your neck of the woods. ray says they were all crowded up like that because that's how they mate and the female is in the middle. boy, am i glad i'm not a june bug! :lmao:

and beautiful pics of the mountains and clingman's dome. i remember going there as a kid! oh, and there's a store we always go to about an hour from here where the appalachian trail runs right through the area and it's so cool to go and see how people hang their hiking boots from the trees after they've hiked part of the trail. it's just amazing to think how gigantic it is!

you're at disney, you're at disney!!!!

MK is my favorite rope drop! it's really the only one we always try to do. i just love walking down main street first thing in the morning!

I turned around to see this...Chris even got in on the action! :rotfl2:

I use a DSLR...Nikon D80! I sure do...the tripod fits on our camera backpack and goes everywhere with us. It especially comes in handy for the fireworks shots! :thumbsup2

No problem, Dawn! That's perfectly understandable! ;)

The llama/camel experience was unlike anything we've ever done before! Those are June bugs? We have them here too, but they look WAY different! OH MY GOSH to what Ray said!!! :scared1: Didn't know I was taking "that kind" of picture!

Thanks! :flower3: Wow...that would be amazing to see all of the hiking boots hanging from the trees, especially after realizing all of those people hiked on some part of the trail! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: great picture!
Thanks! :rotfl2:

Is the tripod you use a standard one? If I may ask what brand and style? If possible could you post a picture of it. Thanks

Caught up after being gone. Great updates. I really want to stay at POFQ some time. We have stayed at POR before but FQ looks cute & I like the idea that it is smaller especially after just coming back from CSR which was HUGE!

WOW DTD was packed. I almost at at Cooke's on my shopping day at DTD. It looks good!

Rope drop at MK is awesome. The show makes me all misty & you get soooo much done in such a short time that it is worth getting up so early.

Hey Cheryl! Here is a picture of my tripod...I took a picture of it next to a baseball cap so you would have an idea of the general size. It's a Manfrotto. I love it because it folds up to the size of a tabletop tripod, yet extends to a full size tripod. Very handy when traveling! :thumbsup2

I also have a gorilla pod, which we sometimes travel with. It's another great little tripod. It's a small tabletop tripod.....you can set it on tables, or wrap it around fences or light poles...kind of a neat feature!

Welcome back, Melanie! :goodvibes We loved POFQ...especially because of the size of it! CSR looks really nice too...we haven't stayed there yet!

We were surprised at how busy it was!!! Cooke's was really good...I was glad we gave it a try! :thumbsup2

I want to "take" Minnie home

After accomplishing quite a bit this morning, we were a little hungry. Chris and I decided to eat at El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurante...we just call it the "Pirate Restaurant" for short!
DSC_0185.jpg

I ordered the nachos and Chris had a taco salad. After he finished his salad, he happily dug into my nachos too! We both had chocolate cake for dessert. Our meal was pretty tasty! :thumbsup2
DSC_0186.jpg

When we finished eating, we realized that we could grab a new FP, so we got one for the Jungle Cruise. The return time was 1:30 p.m. which was only a 1/2 hour away. :woohoo: With FPs in our pockets, we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to use our passes from earlier.
DSC_0188.jpg

I absolutely LOVE this ride! It's always fun and we can't help but laugh and smile the whole time.
DSC_0189.jpg

After our crazy train ride, we wanted to head back over to the Jungle Cruise. We walked through the FP line and about a minute into our wait, one of the CMs announced that the ride was temporarily out of commission and they weren't sure when it might be up and running again. We opted to leave the line and a nice CM said that we could use our FPs anytime later in the day. :goodvibes We decided to head over toward Mickey's PhilharMagic, but stopped to see Donald along the way! What a sweet duck...he gave Chris "five" and kissed my hand.
DSC_0191.jpg

Our next stop was Mickey's PhilharMagic. It appeared that things were still "going our way" because we only had a 10 minute wait! Here's Chris stylin' in his opry glasses! :lmao:
DSC_0192.jpg

I absolutely adore this attraction...it's so cute!
DSC_0193.jpg

We made a quick stop in Sir Mickey's after the 3-D flick.
DSC_0195.jpg

We noticed that a giant was trying to invade the store! :scared1:
DSC_0196.jpg

After glancing around, we stopped outside to admire the beautiful Cinderella fountain.
DSC_0197.jpg

Chris and I then had one specific goal in mind...to get the "oh so yummy" dole whips before parade time!
