Wow who knew they had a llama/camel ride in the smokies.

A dutch diplomat has turkey, cheese & this delicious vinegar based slaw & it's on rye bread. Really one of the best sandwiches ever in my opinion.

All your plans sound great. Can't wait to hear all about all your diverse experiences.

Quick Example: We took this small float plane to an island in search of bear feeding on salmon. It was just the two of us, along with our guide...and MANY BLACK BEAR!!! Kind of creepy, knowing that no one was anywhere around us, but cool at the same time...

Is that Isle Royal? My DBF loves hiking/backpacking and he did a trip there. He's also hiked in the Smokies several times. From what he's told me and the pictures, its gorgeous! You'll love it!

It stinks that you can't go white water rafting! I would LOVE to do that! Someday...

It looks like a very exciting trip and you only have a few days left!

It was actually an island near Ketchikan, Alaska...it was so beautiful! Believe it or not, we've never been to Isle Royal! I can't wait to hike in the Smokies!!!

I know, but at least I've done it before. If you ever have a chance, DO IT!

Just hopping over from another TR. Plans look awesome. We have alot in common. My DH works for UPS also. He is an insider supervisor. I am a teacher by trade and taught 1st grade until I had my DS 5 years ago. I am sad to say that I have only been to 2 of the places that you will be visiting. We took our DDs to Gettysburg years ago and, well, the other place is obvious! Myrtle Beach is definitely on our short list of places to go. Maybe in 2012? We are planning to drive to Disney next year for the first time. We have always flown but we think it might be fun to "road trip"it. I will be curious to see how you like it! Looking forward to lots more!

Your road trip plans sound wonderful! We were just in Tennessee this past weekend and visited Smokey Mountain National Park. It's absolutely gorgeous!

DH and I live about 30-40 min from Gatlinburg. We love going up there to get away and people watch!

You HAVE to visit Cheese Cupboard & Hofbrauhaus. It's an awesome little deli on top on a cheese shop. It's cash only btw. Awesome sandwiches and quaint atmosphere!
It's located in " The Village" Area on the Gatlinburg strip.

I'm jealous of your road trip vacation! Sounds like a great plan!

Please share with us what your eating plans are with the QS plan. I think that is a great idea since your time in the parks is limited. It is so amazing how many QS choices there are in the parks. We always do the regular DP so I think it will be interesting to see how you use your credits, especially snacks! We never indulged in the cool snacks that WDW has to offer until we started getting the DP. You'll have 2 credits per day, won't you? How FUN!!

I definitely will share my plans when we get back! I'm really shocked at how many QS choices there are too.......We always do the regular DP too and I was very hesitant about doing the QS plan. I'm not a fast food junkie at all, so I was worried about just having "burgers" as a choice. I'm pretty surprised at the many offerings! We will have 2 CS credits per day, 2 snack credits per day, plus a resort mug (per person). We're going to be using some of our snack credits for breakfast each day (bagels, fruit, fruit parfaits, etc.) and we'll still have some left over for use in the parks. I'm interested in seeing how it works out!

I can't wait to read about your trip! My husband has only two weeks of vacation. Between that and having to watch the finances doesn't give us as many opportunities to travel as we'd like. We've got a couple of little moochers living with us too. For some reason, they want to tag along ; )

i love how you worked disney into the plans. TOTALLY something i would do too!

sorry to hear about your grandmother. i'm glad you're still going on the trip - you guys probably need it. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

~ Since white -water rafting was out of the plan, I still wanted to do some sort of an adventure while in the mountains. So, I chose something off the beaten-path. Get ready for this...We are doing a Llama Trek/Camel Ride Adventure .....3 miles of hiking through the mountains with a llama and then an hour camel ride. Should be interesting!

VERY cool!

We have our favorites that we want to hit, but we're going to play it by ear .............this is so UNLIKE us. We usually do full on COMMANDO TOURING, so this too, will be a change!

i'm actually looking forward to doing this next trip. we usually have everything planned out too, but we've both agreed that we will make our ADRs and of course have to keep those on schedule, but otherwise just kind of do what we want at that moment. the next trip we take will be the first time we travel with our son who will be around 1 at the time, so it will be a VERY different kind of trip! i bet you guys will enjoy going with the flow and taking those swim breaks!
