I left WDW yesterday (Tuesday) with temps at 80°. Here was my world on December 7:

Here is a picture of my world this morning:

Windchill is now -10° and going to get worse all day. It is currently blowing at 30 mph. Think of us poor souls back home as you wipe the sweat from your brow today.

Jean, I'm SO GLAD we got out of there when we did! It was just in the early stages when we left yesterday, but even so, we didn't get out without about an hour delay.

It's still gorgeous down here! It was still above 70 when we went to bed last night! Illuminations was spectacular with the clear calm warm weather. Today is supposed to be windy, and it is VERY humid out there!

I looked for you at the airport yesterday. Did you fly Sun Country or NWA or AirTran?
I guess I am glad that I got home yesterday. I think that MSP will be a mess today.

Your home looks beautiful....but I feel your pain with those temperatures ! I am flying out to WDW on Saturday and I'm very excited about warm weather ! We're getting an Arctic blast this weekend that will last days. They said we'll be lucky if we hit 32 degrees for a high ! I am perfectly happy to be in the holiday spirit with sun, warmth and palm trees ! I'd prefer to leave the snow to those who like it ;)
Diane....I'm glad u escaped too !

Wow! Two very gorgeous scenes. I'm sure it was really hard to go back to those temps after being in WDW.:santa:

I do not envy you or that snow! Still, I'm happy you were able to make it home safely before the storm hit. Hope the memories of Florida and your wonderful trip keep you warm! :goodvibes

You make me even more excited to leave the cold and enjoy Disney. We will be there in one month for a grand gathering. Thanks for reminding me just how nice the weather is down there. I keep saying to everyone it might be cold when we visit next month, but wow, I need to put it into perspective.....this is cold!!!!!

The low here today was -50 :scared1: in the mountain area.
Can't wait to get "home" to WDW in 4 short days :cloud9:

LOL - as someone whose child has never seen a white Christmas, I have to say that both scenes look pretty darn magical to me.

Ohhh my that's terrible weather! We overlap your trip, we leave in 2 days, Friday.

We are @ BLT & VWL and can't wait!! I am now living vicariously (sp?) through your trip thinking (wishing) it were tomorrow! Is anyone planning a DIS meet, mixer or anything while we're there? I just LOVE meeting fellow DIS/DVCer's on trip!

And I must say, living in CO my entire life and having NEVER spent a Christmas holiday outside of CO, I do so love a White Christmas. This will be quite a shock for us to be poolside @ in FL before Christmas. My kids keep asking me.."do they put lights on Palm Trees or what?" I have no idea how to answer that question..:lmao:

I'm in MN too, and we got back on Sat 12/05. We left very rainy weather at WDW so it was easier to leave, but know I'll take that over the 11 inches we got in Austin any day!

Fellow MNer who is heading to the World on Sunday.

We didn't get the snow in the North, but the temp last night was -6.

Looking forward to the forecasted 80's next Monday for the CP.

Clark

Sorry but we had record highs yesterday, 90 degrees. Your beautiful picture could be a christmas card, and right now I wish we had a little snow. (Not much, just a little to cool things off) My a/c bills are killing me.

Nothing planned that I know of, (we have dinner with Diane on Friday).we're going to MVMCP on Tuesday...are you? If you're going to be there for the Merry Mixer, (we're not) that should be fun.

One year, December '04, it seemed to be cold enough for snow while we were at the Candlelight Processional. Truly, I will not be missing cold at all when we get to Orlando.

We were at SSR one December, just walking around, and the twinkling lights of DTD as viewed from Congress Park, was as pretty a sight as could be. They do have crazy things with lights on at the Osborne Lights...you and your family will have a great time!

PS. DH spent 9 months one year in CO and he wants to go back there, to retire. This is not in my plans at all. It's a major bone of contention, believe me!!!! We have just 2+ more years to work, we'll see how it turns out.

Jean - Both of your photos are beautiful! Of course if I had to pick a location to visit I'd probably pick the World, but your Christmas decorations are gorgeous.:santa:. They really put me into a Christmas Spirit...Here in Indiana, we dodged the bullet of snow and are just getting the bitter temps. However, I can drive in the cold more safely than I can in the snow and ice:laughing:

Thanks for sharing...
