Ok, I'm very torn. This is my first trip to Disney in at least 15 years (I was in high school). This is my first trip with my dh and 2 dd's. My girls will be celebrating their 4th and 8th birthdays while on vacation. We will be staying at Pop from January 9 (getting in around 6pm) through January 17 (leaving early). We are on the DDP. My 3 (almost 4) year old is very, very picky.....VERY, very picky. My 7 (almost 8) year old loves to try new foods. I had an ADR for breakfast (9:20) for CRT on the day in between the girls birthdays. I canceled it :scared1:. The only thing my little one would probably eat is some fruit. I could not justify spending two table credits for this meal and we are doing plenty of other character meals. Would you mind looking at my 'new' ADR's and giving me some feedback? Do you think I should make some changes and 'try' to get another ADR for CRT? What about the rest of our plans?

Jan. 10 - Chef Mickey’s - 6:30pm (dd's bday)

Jan. 11 - 1900 Park Fare - 6:45pm (this day is where I canceled CRT - breakfast)

Jan. 12 - Teppan Edo – 6:00pm (other dd's bday - this was her pick!)

Jan. 13 - Hollywood and Vine – 12:30pm (thinking of switching to Sci Fi)

Jan. 14 - Mama Melrose- 3:00pm - Fantasmic 6:30pm

Jan. 15 - ‘Ohana – 6:20pm

Jan. 16 - Liberty Tree Tavern – 11:50am

Also, since I canceled CRT (and if I don't reschedule) I still have 1 TS credit left. What should I add? Thinking of adding Whispering Canyon on arrival night, but not sure if everyone will be up for it.

Thanks for reading.

for the op, i agree with the previous post, liking park fair over cinderella. i have 2 good eaters, a VERY very picky eater like you, and a dairy and nut allergy child as well. most of the kids meals are the same now and my picky and allergy kids just pick one thing and stick with it for most meals, so the buffets are really nice to have, they are super kid friendly!!! as for whispering canyon, it is one of my kid's favorites, they are dd, 13, dd, 11, ds, 10 and ds 5. we eat there 2 or 3 times a year, and the times we don't they ask about it!!! it is a lot of fun for kids, but check out the menu here to make sure there is something that your picky daughter will eat, we have had them come up with something on more than one occasion and they were happy to obligue. good luck and have a GREAT time!

Thank you for your replies! Whew, you have both made me feel better about canceling. As far as WCC, there really isn't anything my little one will eat, but was hoping they could find some chicken nuggets. I know the waitstaff likes to give the patrons a hard time, so I'm sure asking for a special request will be great fodder for them!

Well IMHO, all princesses should eat in the castle at least once ;)

But I understand about the 2TS credits, it's tough to swallow. What about Akershus in Epcot, it's lovely!

I think that all princesses should eat in the castle also. That is my big dilemma. But seriously, is it worth 2 ts credits if one of us isn't even going to eat? I am already burning one of her ts credits at Teppan Edo--gonna have to hit up a cs for her before we go to our ADR at Teppan Edo.

Keep trying for CRT. It's something you should do at this age. We never spend 2 TS credits, but opt to pay OOP for that one, and use the credits of other meals.

They will only be this age for so long.....

We ate there in September and it was one of our favourite dining experiences. It was nice to eat in the castle, and the food was better than expected. We did also eat at Akershaus but did not like it nearly as much as CRT. Both were for breakfast.

credits at CRT do include the photo package, tax and gratuity. We have had lunch there three times, but I can see why it's not for everyone.

Askerhus is a good suggestion for your kids. Also my kids like Biergarten in Epcot. There is a wide variety of food and an oompah band plays for short periods during most of the day. There are usually kids on the little dance floor. Another suggestion is Donald's Safari Breakfast in Animal Kingdom. You'll see some of the same characters as at CM but Daisy Duck is usually there.

There is just something magical about eating in the castle. We did our first trip and will again this time. We may pay OOP for it though. My girls both really liked the french toast sticks and the fruit was really good.

Have you looked at menus? Many TS restaurants have kid friendly items that may or may not relate to the theme of the restaurant...

And TS restaurants are good at accommodating tastes. (I think that I read someone's post about picky kids and Tepan Edo and chicken nuggets, aka tempura chicken, but I may not be remembering that correctly.)

I have found some 2 credit TS restaurants worth it, but CRT wasn't one of them. Yes, it is nice to eat in the castle, but it so orchestrated and rushed. I don't blame you for canceling it. We ate there once, but I hope that we don't have to go again (one DD was only 2 at the time, so she doesn't remember!)

You could try breakfast at Akershus on that same day (or a different day, like Jan 12 when you will end up at Epcot for dinner, too) and still have breakfast and see princesses.

Have a great trip!

This can happen anywhere. We usually like Akershus, but we were really rushed there last time, and were seated next to the buffet, right out in the open with hardly any room to move. I asked before they seated us if we could sit somewhere else and was told no.

Will I go back? Yes. My other trips have been very enjoyable. It's all situational.

Before our trip, I was really torn as to weather I wanted to use up 2 TS for CRT. But I have to say, I am glad we did do CRT. The food was decent but DD had the biggest smile on her face before, during and after...

Now that we have done it once, we will probably not do it again...but I have to agree with pp that it should be done at least once.
