...that is the question.

I currently have POFQ booked for February. I'd initially booked AKL but figured out I am not going to be in the room or at the resort enough to justify a Deluxe. Changed to AOA, but decided to let someone who would really love a Little Mermaid room (not the biggest Ariel fan here) have it and switched to POFQ.

TBH I am pretty indifferent to the themeing there. I have stayed at POR and didn't like it - the Mansions felt stuffy to me and AB just looks junky to me. I was willing to consider CSR but it is sold out during my stay (not doing the split stay thing so didn't look at partial stays). I normally love CBR, but I am gluten-free and the food situation there makes me edgy. I'd rather not have to depend on stuff I bring from home or planning my mornings around eating elsewhere.

I could save about $500 by changing to one of the All Stars - probably Music but maybe Sports - but am undecided.

I like the guarantee of a bigger bed at POFQ, but then again I have a Double at home so I'm used to those. I don't plan to be crazy commando touring, but I plan to be mostly in the parks. And $500 is a lot of money I can put towards tips and extras with the Dining Plan...

I’d change. While you do have definite likes and dislikes, it seems that pofq vs values doesn’t trigger the “no” response. So why not save money?

On the other hand, the fq lobby is cool and while I haven’t stayed there I like walking around there.

In the other hand I like POR. :) Not the bayou, but the mansions are nice and I love the grounds. So what do I know? :)

I'd change. While I LOVE POFQ, I', the self professed Queen of the Values as I spend so little time in the room.

I'm not sure what I would do. I do not like the values because they always seem more crowded and the beds seem harder but 500.00 is a lot of money.

I was just the opposite. I was booked ar POP and spent the extra money to move to POFQ. having stayed there before I fell in love. Small resort. Easy to get around. Busses. And atmosphere

I think the real question is, which resort will you switch to after you book one of the AllStars.

Personally, I'd stick with POFQ. It's so much more relaxing than Music. That's for sure. If you do book Music, you might want to consider booking a preferred room, due to the layout of the resort.

Based on all you said, I would be changing in a heartbeat and use that $500 elsewhere for special events and eats. We are all adults and have stayed at ASSp about 6 times in last few years. Our room has always been fresh and clean, the food court has had good offerings and been efficient, busing has been very good. Never had any noise issues (but we never stay football).

I have stayed at POFQ and feel it is absolutely not worth the money, the decor of the rooms will be very much like the POR Mansions, the resort while it looks very much like NOLA is nothing like it in energy.

POFQ is our favorite, but I always say why pay more for amenities/resort that you are not going to use. The new rooms at POP are getting queen beds.

AKL... Your problem is needing justification when none is necessary. Treat yourself and family to a deluxe. It's a holiday. Quit beating yourself up!

If I was looking to save money, I’d dump the dining plan and keep the room at POFQ. I find the value resorts to be chaotic and loud and doubly worse during school breaks. You work with kids, right? Are you going during school vacation? That right there would make the decision for me to stay at POFQ.

Just sharing my experience here. I’m in the opposite boat, we are booked at Pop in March and I've thought a lot about upgrading to POFQ. I’ve always wanted to stay there but it’s $565 more total for my stay, $113 a day. That put in in perspective to me and I decided to stick with Pop, especially since we are in the parks except to sleep. Plus, we know we love Pop. IF I were taking a longer trip (we're only staying 5 nights this time) and had resort time planned, I would make the switch.

I would switch to all star sports in a heartbeat. it's the smallest of the all stars and the buses always stop there first. if you can get POP, i would request a renovated room.
$500 is 4 items from world of Disney :P

I did end up switching to Sports Preferred!

AND I discovered why people love using TAs so much as I was basing it on what I found if I looked on my own but she was able to get me a better rate on the room AND add a day to my tickets PLUS hopper and it's less than what I expected, so the savings are about $600!!! WHEE!!!!!
