To cancel or not

I agree with the other's, I'd go for the house :goodvibes and postpone the holiday for a while.

I would deffinatley go for the house over the holiday,i really don't understand why anyone would'nt :confused3 .You will always have another chance to go to WDW,whether it be next year or in 10years.The chance you are being offered now-may not come along again+is far more important than ANY holiday.Good Luck.x.

I would go for the house too
and postpone the holiday for a while

Provided you won't be overstretching yourself each month I would go for the house too. WDW isn't going anywhere and you will find you will be back there before you know it. :)

We chose the holidays over dream home

Same here to a certain degree. I had a large house that was lost in a divorce.

We both now live in a big 1-bed flat and decided a few years ago that maybe it was a bit small for the two of us. After a lot of soul-searching and even more financial spreadsheets we decided to stay and I'm so glad we did.

I work in the conveyancing industry and if I was in the position to move to the bigger and better then now is the time to do it. The price of houses has fallen but it's fairly global so although your house is worth less so are many others.

I would say if it is a good deal and a good investment for your future then forego the holiday. I would agree that if you are going to loose a lot of money then it may not be worth it but if not then the money you would have spent could be used for paying back the loan (not the whole amount lol) or buying things you need. Orlando will still be there in a few years :)

we were in almost exactly the same position as you nearly three years ago.

We postponed the holiday.. and I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever!
There isnt a day that I wake up in this house and take one look out of the window at the amazing views and wish i had taken another Disney holiday that would have merged into the others....

Postpone the holiday.... its two weeks... the house will be there forever...
No contest..... :)

we have decided that providing the deal for the house is good (people keep telling me to haggle, but I have already got 20k off it so cant see them offering any more)

that we will put the holiday back to the start of october 2010, before Morgan turns two. We are booked with virgin so I am guessing it will be the admin charge to pay.

we talked to his parents and they want us to put it back, so that we can get fully established in the house and save some money up.

so now we just have to wait on the valuers for our house fingers crossed

Good luck, Anna! :thumbsup2 FWIW, I think you made the right decision and, as you say, you can postpone the WDW trip with Virgin and only pay the admin fee... Fingers crossed everything goes well with the valuers...

I'm a bit late to the thread but I would have said the house definately!

Fingers crossed all goes well for you with the house. :thumbsup2

Great news Anna, keep us updated! :)

I'd have said the holiday - life is short and, speaking from our own experience, family memories are irreplaceable :)
