To buy a guide book or not? That is the question.

Has anyone bought a 2014 guide book? I usually do buy one before our trips just to stay updated but I am wondering if they are going to be worth it this year with all the changes and FP+? Has anyone purchased a Passporters WDW 2014 or the Unofficial Guide for 2014? Those two have been my "go to" in the past. I have the 2012 copy of both and just can't decide if either of these will have the information I need/ am looking for? Thanks.

are you looking to get crowd level info, wait times, etc... out of it or are you looking for interesting facts? trivia? hidden mickeys? etc...

if you are looking for planning info, crowd levels, wait times, etc...personally i'd spare the expense (unless you are a bookworm - I am not). Lots of good up to date info out there for free via DIS, easywdw, etc.....

MOstly looking for facts on FP+ and the new changes. I read EasyWDW for the crowd calendars and I know it will be very busy when we are there (july).

And reviews on the restaurants. I like reading those. I think there are new ones since we went. I try to keep up on the boards with those but not always so great about it!

Since FP+ is technically still in testing I don't think a book will help. It could change by the time you go.

Your best bet is to still read reviews here and other boards and look at current menus. It's not to difficult to guess what restaurants can do well or poorly based on the menu and which restaurant it is.

Thank you. That was what I was wondering (in regards to the FP+). I just feel pretty confused this year trying to plan with all the changes. I guess I was looking for a magic fix! Thanks again.

I just bought one - unofficial guide 2014 - for our October trip!

It won't have everything, but honestly, it's just part of the fun!

It was only $15, less if you get it for your Kindle. I wanted the actual book for planning though.

I bought the 2014 UG, but it doesn't have much on the new Fastpass at all. The strategies are all still assuming the old Fastpass. If you have the 2012 one, you will be fine sticking with that. I think next year's will have a lot of changes in it though!

We bought one as soon as we booked our trip. We glanced through it, but I got all of my information online, mostly here at Disboards. The book was definitely not worth it for us.
