To bring sandals, or not to bring sandals....

this is the question! It's been driving me nuts - I keep going back and forth on this stupid issue! I'm from the Seattle area and will be flying out Thursday night for an 8 night/9 day solo trip - WOOHOO! Anyway - I know there are lots of other DISers who will be there during this time.... I am debating the issue of bringing a pair of sandals for this timeframe; they are a very comfy, sturdy pair of leather walking sandals (I'm not talking flip-flops!). Just looking for opinions from others who will be at WDW during this timeframe, or who've been at WDW during this same timeframe - are sandals worth bringing? Will I get any use out of them - or will they just waste precious space in my luggage?!?! :confused3

TIA! :flower:

Bring them - you might be glad of them.

we where there 1/12-1/18 & i wore tevas for 3 days.

I've become a big promoter of sandals. Why? Because last time I was at WDW, wearing sneakers, I got a very painful bruise under the big toe nail on my right foot. I think it was caused by the top of my shoe rubbing on my toe nail. So I switched to the non-fashionable choice of sandals with socks. I know-I was a fashion "No-No", but my feet were comfortable. So, now I'd rather wear sandals with socks in the cold at WDW than sneakers. Hopefully, people are too busy going their way than to look down at my feet.

I always wear Sandals at WDW. However I usually go when the weather is warm. I can wear sandals as long as the weather is above 60 degrees.

I don't think I could do the socks and sandals thing, but that's me. I'm too fashion conscious I guess. :earseek:

I would probably bring both, Sandals and a pair of comfy sneakers.
Don't worry about bringing extra shoes, I always bring at least 2 pairs of sandals, my sneakers, and flip flops.

Have a fun trip.

Bring them! I'm an overpacker so if I'm even considering bringing something I usually do. Better safe then sorry I always say ;) !

Definitely bring them. Even if you don't use them in the MK, your feet will appreciate the break from sneakers/shoes in the hotel.

Just remember to put sunblock on your feet or wear socks- sunburn on your feet can ruin a vacation fast.

We leave On Tuesday & I'm packing my sandals!!! Weather permitting, I'll wear my sandals everyday to the parks just like I did in September. I find them way more comfortable than shoes.

Bring them! I could never do WDW without my sandals. I also find them more comfortable than sneakers.

My favorite sandals for Park touring are my Tevas & my Clarks. I even have a pair of Mickey slides I bought on one trip that are suprisingly comfortable. But for really hitting it hard, I use the Tevas & Clarks.

Leaving on Wednesday, thinking about taking my Merrills (sandals). This'd be the firsltrip in I don't know how many that I haven't worn them. I was, however, there in April and I almost froze, wound up wearing my Birkenstock sandals with DH's white socks (very attractive, got many snide remarks from him :)). I WAS going to leave them home and take comfy slippers for the hotel, but now.......................... :)

I've always loved wearing my Tevas to the parks. But a word of advice, make sure that your feet are accustomed to wearing them before you walk that 6-8 mile a day average. My Tevas were comfy on July and October trips, but not so great in May after a Michigan winter in boots and thick socks.

Also, if anyone is planning a spring trip with sandals, I have two words: bug spray. Those yellow biting flies love tender footsies. A couple of bites almost ruined my last trip.

I thought about bringing both. That way if it gets cool then I am still covered. Go CHEER CATS!!
