To bring or rent stroller

Are you sure you have looked at doubles and the weight recommendation? My double has a 100lb weight limit. maybe check again and make sure thats the case. My stroller is just like one on one of the swaps. my DD is 5 and weighs 54lbs. My DS is 2 and weighs 32lbs. I know my stroller will handle her for another year. Check again to make sure.....

I just found the double stroller swap that has a 100 pound limit. There are four strollers within the swap. The other double stroller from other members are for less weights. Unfortunately, the four are already booked for the time that we will be there. My guess is they have been for a while since we just scheduled our trip and it is only four months away. Thanks again.

to cancer survivor 06 or anyone who may know the answer: does your 8 yr old fit into the single? my DD8 has a muscle disorder and we are going back and forth about where to rent from, obviously we need something sturdy and thought the wdw rentals was the only way to go, she is 49' today and we are going in may, her 5 year old sister is 40' not sure about the both of them in a double though...thanks

Hi sorry for taking so long to get back to you we have been out doing the OT ST dr run today.

both of your girls will fit just fine in the double or single whichever you choose. I use mine for my 5yr old who has low tone and doesn't walk she is 39in and weighs 40.8 pounds. My 8yr old is 48in and weighs about 52pounds and she fits just fine in it as well. I will see if my pics are on here of them sitting in it verses my techno and I will post back. If you are still unsure feel free to pm me w/ any questions and they do offer the special needs stroller I did see one at the parks I don't know if is was a rental or not but it was rather large.

Okay here are a couple of photos I took in october when I was comparing the two strollers for another diser I can take some more and post current photos if you would like or I can email them to you. Please excuse the messy unattached look of my mac I had stripped her to be cleaned.

BJCM w/ my 5yr old. Notice I partially unattached the canopy to show how high the back of the seat is. Also the black part you see at the top is the mesh net that is see through when the seat is fully reclined.

you can also see the difference in the size of the wheels and the front wheel on the bjcm has pretty good suspension. If anyone would like to see more photos don't hesitate to ask. HTH

My rider is a small 2 1/2 yr old (currently about 25 pounds and 35 inches and super skinny) but she does have a ton of room in the single Mini. But while we are at WDW, my father let my oldest DD9 sit in the stroller while pushing it and she did fit. She is a solid, tall girl too. She was then 8 and about 100 pounds and 54+ inches. I quickly got her out of it but she didn't seem to be too squished or anything. LOL I don't know how comfy she would have been after sitting in it all day or how the stroller would have held up.

OMG thank you so much for the pic's and info-I am worried about how the stroller would hold up if my 8 yr old was in it-I'm not sure of the weight limit-the double seems to hold more weight combined obviously but I don't know how I would hold up pushing both of them:rotfl:
thanks again!

The push on it will be super awesome I can push my 5yr old in the single one handed and turn it when needed. The total weight limit is up to 50lbs on the single and 100 for the double. I pushes easy w/ my 8yr old as well but I have used w/ her in it except for a trial push around the house but I imagine it is just as simple.

Here are a few pics of our Mini while at WDW. They aren't great but can kind of give you an idea of how much room DD2 had in the stroller.

Here you can tell that there is quite a bit of room for taller heads under the shade when extended:

She was reclined here but there was lots of room for a much bigger kid to sit or lay comfortable:

Here is a pic of Avery is her Halloween costume. She rode in the BJ Mini that night with this very puffy costume on and still had plenty of spare room. We did end up reclining the seat but only because we wanted to sit her back more because she wasn't buckled and we didn't want her to slip or jump out:

We are heading down to Disney next week. I have 4 children, ages 9, 7, and twins 5 who are turning 6 when we are there. My 9 year old is fine. My 7 year old gets tired after walking for a long time. My twins are pretty good about walking, but they would probably need a ride when we spend the days in the park. My kids are GIANTS! The seven year old weights like 70 pounds, one twin is 60 lbs and the other twin is 50 lbs (obviously not identical!)
So what do I do???

My husband is from the old school...let them suffer! (Even thought it would be me suffering listening to them complain and listening to him tell them to stop complaining!)

We have a double jogger that we could bring down with us (a pain on the plane, but we've done it before!) The weight limit is only 100 pounds, but at this point, we don't care if it gets run into the ground!

I could rent the double one at the park and listen to how we "wasted so much money....."

I don't think we can get away with any other rentals without the possibility of breaking them.

So what do you think???

Thanks

Pam
