We leave in just a few days!! :cheer2:
Now thinking of some last minute details....

sweatshirts....I know that it sounds crazy to ask if we should pack or not, with the humidity and rain...but thought I would anyways....should I bring a lightweight sweatshirt for the kids?

cooler....we want to bring our fold-up cooler (on wheels) with us to use at the waterparks...and since we flying AW & SW...I was wandering if we can use it as a carry-on on the plane...for snacks and drinks for the kids? Long flight from Callie! :cool1:

Thanks for your comments! :flower:

We go in early August and I always take our sweatshirts with us and I don't think we ever used them. But I would still bring them along.

Since you are flying maybe bring them on the plane because it can get chilly on the plane.

With all the new restrictions, not sure if you can bring a cooler on the plane.

Have a great trip. :flower:

I always bring a lightweight sweatshirt jacket with me on the plane for a few reasons:

1. The plane can get very chilly and sometimes those paper thin blankets just don't cut it.

2. In the evenings, I bring one to the parks with me and tie it around my waist. It is useful during some of the attractions/dinners/shows as they can get VERY cold.

3. I use it on the buses as a pillow..... :rotfl:

Definitely leave them back in the room during the day, I GUARANTEE you that you will not need them in the middle of the day during the height of the summer sun.

If you are coming soon, unless something drastic happens to the weather pattern, you won't need a sweatshirt. You are more likely to mold than to get cold.

we were there a couple of weeks ago and you won't need a sweatshirt unless you think you may need it on the plane. Our plane was very, very warm so unless your family tends to the cold side, I would say no. As for the cooler, we saw several people using medium sized soft sided coolers as carry-ons, so as long as its the allowable size, you should be fine.

I agree with what others have said....you won't need the sweatshirt at WDW. Maybe a light jacket on the plane, but once you're at WDW, it's not necessary. I wondered about it too and brought one, but never needed it. I was amazed at how warm it is, even at 8am and 11pm and when raining. Sorry, no advice on the cooler.

It seems like the general consensus is that you won't need them during the day but I used mine a few times at lunch because the rest. were so cool from the A/C. It was at the end of May and the weather was HOT & HUMID (we called it sweating-in-the-shade-hot). When we went into some places to eat, the change was so drastic I had to use my sweater! I would bring something light-weight.
Have a great trip

We just returned recently and I had packed a light jacket, one sweatshirt, and one pair of pants per person in our party... NONE of which was even touched during our trip. I don't think you'll need them. The temp only went down to bearable (with the humidity) in the evenings, nowhere near cold enough (even when it was raining and you got wet) to need those things. We are Texans and believe me- if it's slightly cool we're putting on jackets/etc. because we're not used to colder weather... they simply were not needed during our stay at all even though we had a lot of rain and got wet in the evenings quite often.

We also used (a mickey one purchased on disneydirect.com awhile back for our cruise in the future LOL) a soft sided cooler (with wheels and pull out handle like regular carryon on baggage) on the flight on the way there. It had snacks in it which helped while waiting for our flight and once at the resort... but it was put in the bulkhead so it's not like we could dig out snacks out of it during the flight. Atleast I don't think so. perhaps you could pull it down during the flight and get snacks out but I didn't want to be lugging stuff out of there during the flight. LOL (I'm short... it was heavy, you get the picture. Recipe for disaster for whomever was sitting underneath it!)
We sent it as checked luggage on the way back.. didn't want to be lugging that around our last half day there after checking out of the resort.

My DW always packs a jacket and sweatshirt for all of us (3kids). I tell her not to but that does little good. We end up keeping them in the suitcase the whole trip every time. If you really needed a sweatshirt down there it would make a swell purchase down there as a memento.

aaack NO on the sweatshirts!! :cool1:

YES on the softside cooler, I have one took it as checked luggage with snacks for breakfasts, ets... and we did take it TL it was wonderful!! I really loved that picnic!! :goodvibes
