that is the question.

Leaving tomorrow :cool1: :rotfl: :cool1:

and Dh and I are having a "discussion" about whether I really need to pack my hairdryer. DD and I both have shoulder-length, thick hair and most hotel dryers have no power. What do you think? Do I need to pack it?

DH swears that it's a good thing we were born in this century as no covered wagon could have made it across the plains with all my "stuff"! :teeth: ;)

I just got back from the WL. I have sholder length--and lots of it. I had no problem with the resort hairdryer. I actually thought it was pretty powerful. I am sure they are all the same at each resort. No need to bring your own. Have fun!

Thanks! DH REALLY thanks you. Now he might actually have room to pack something of his! ;)

They work good at the resorts. Have a great vacation.

Okay, I'll be the dissenting one. I find they don't dry my hair as fast and as well as my own. I pack it (it doesn't take up that much room!).

I've learned to take my own. I'm used to the shape, etc of my own dryer and some dryers don't have the wattage of what I'm used to.

I tried the ones in the hotel bathroom several times because I was too lazy to pull mine out from under the sink or get it from the other sink area. Those take too long and don't dry as well. I always use mine. Bring yours. You won't be happy with the ones already in the bathroom.

The hair dryer posts always make me smile. But you've come to the right place to ask the question! :thumbsup2

I dunno. Depends whether it is a full sized one, or small one, and how much hair you have. :confused3

My hair is so thick that the hotel dryer shuts itself off from overheating.

Then I have to take a break from hair drying until it cools off.

Last time I used one of those smaller ones, it took nearly an hour to dry my hair!
:guilty:

To be sure, you really should pack your own. Believe the DVC wall mounted dryer is about 1500 watts. Keep in mind that the cord of the wall mounted dryers limit you - I like to move around a bit when I dry my hair. :) Can't do that if the dryer is bolted to the wall!

I have thick, chin length hair and the BWV hairdryer worked just fine for me. It worked even better after I picked off all the lint that was blocking the air intake area, though. If you plan to do that, you'll need a tweezers - that lint is impossible to get off with just finger nails, LOL. :teeth:

The problem I always have with those hair dryers is that if I'm not paying attention I suck my hair in the other end! So, I always take mine now.

I took mine with me, but never had to unpack it. Most of the time, hotels ones aren't powerful enough, but theirs worked great.
