To borrow or bank?

Hi - we just became DVC members yesterday (!) and of course I already have a question.

Our use year is Dec (150 pts). I used 27 pts for a stay next week from my 2022 use year. Now I need to book a stay for 156 points in Feb 2024 (which is my 2023 use year). Am I better off borrowing from my 2024 points or banking my remaining 2022 points to book the Feb. 23 reservation? Odds are low that we'll cancel, but I might want to book a night or two in a studio at some point during my 2022 year (before Dec 2023), so I think I want to borrow from 2024? Then if I don't use all my 2022 points I can bank them, is that right? WWYD?

do you plan to stay any more through december? if not, then bank your remaining points and use them for your february stay. if you do plan to stay more, book your stays then bank your points.

you should receive a welcome home email from DVC and in that email is a phone number to call for a new member orientation where they cover banking, borrowing, etc. It's very important and worth your time.

I would bank the points to only the points you need from 2022 UY to get this booked if you are concerned that you may still want to travel in your 2022 UY.

But, definitely better to bank than borrow in this situation
