To BOG dinner or to cancel BOG dinner...that is the question!

Okay I am so torn! We are heading to Disney in a few weeks. Our first day will be spent in MK and I scored a 6:40 ADR for BOG for dinner. I have been here but my husband and oldest daughter have not (she's 19).

I know this works out great because it's in the park we will be at and dinner will be over around the time of the parade and wishes. I know this is such a hard one to get and I lucked out but now I'm thinking...what if I can get a lunch ADR instead and then it's only a Quick Service credit and we really always love Raglan Road so we could leave and use our TS credit for dinner there instead of BOG.

There is no other day we can squeeze in Raglan so I'm not sure what to do...go for the good food or go for the hard to get ADR I have and stay in the park.

What would you all do?? Help??!! LOL

I personally do not care for BOG dinner, but I love the lunch. But I definitely understand your reasoning for keeping the dinner reservation. Ultimately I would keep the dinner to have those evening park hours.

I was just at MK on 5/5 and for the second trip in a row, I last minute canceled BOG dinner. The last one I canceled because my family wasn't happy with the structuring and we decided to go elsewhere besides MK. This trip it was hot, crowded, and we had an extra long m&g wait early in the morning, so by 2:00 the little ones were having a meltdown. I went over to BOG in time to hear them tell a party of 4 they were slammed booked that evening with no reservations at all, and I asked if I could give them mine as we were struggling. They let us, and afterwards we had a wonderful lunch around 2:30 at Skippers then left the park. We ended up swimming then watching Aladdin on the lawn.

ETA: No regrets!

Is your daughter a B&TB fan? My niece is around her age and would have been sad not to see BOG. It was her request a few years ago at 16. While RR is very good, we've had yummy food at BOG as well.

I choose meals based on where we are going to be on that day or evening, You will be in the MK, so I would choose BOG, and have a nice meal on an arrival day. I know that a lot of people have must do restaurants, and I have favorites as well, but before you get rid of your ADR, be sure you are okay with leaving the park to go to DS for dinner. That is a lot of running around on a travel day.

One thing I try to avoid at all costs is traipsing all over to make meals work. You have the ADR in place, so no harm no foul for now. I would suggest you give thought to the travel times and your trip in general. If you are leaving just for dinner at RR< will this impact the total time you have in the MK, and is this an issue? If you leave for DS and dinner, will you plan on spending time there, and is this the only opportunity you will have in DS? Is the time worth it?

We love RR and I scored a BOG at Christmas. Could not believe my luck but the reviews were not great. But we decided to give it a try. I can actually say we loved it! As you will be in MK BOG scores a point, BOG harder ressie to get BOG scores a point, I am a sucker for being led to my table by lumiere BOG scores a point, Oh man it's snowing in May outside... BOG scores a point.

RR is lovely. But do it another night? If I scored a BOG dinner I wouldn't trade!

I'd keep BOG so you can stay in the park. Plus, we love dinner there, but HATE lunch just because it seemed like total chaos.....and it wasn't even during so called "busy" season.

Definitely BOG. I think the dinner food is quite good, and it is about the same price as every other table service at WDW- and you get a gorgeous setting with the food.

If everyone had eaten there before then there might be a reasonable question, but since she has not, there is no way I would cancel.

Your daughter needs (okay -that is a strong word and a bit of hyperbole but you get the picture) to see the inside of the castle. It is very special.

Keep BOG. It will take you 1-1.5 hours to get to DS then eat and then the same to get back to MK or you would just go back to your room and have lost a lot of park time

I love both BoG and RR, but since your plan is to be in MK I wouldn't leave and travel all the way to Disney Springs just for dinner. I'd keep BoG and stay in MK.

We loved BOG. IT was my husband's favorite meal of our trip. I would definitely go there instead of leaving hte park and going to DS.

My DD who is also 19, says BOG is a must do. Her and her BF went last year while we took the younger kids to CP because we did it the year before. It was his favorite meal of the trip too.( he was a first timer). We are going again this year because my parents are requesting it, it was their favorite 2 years ago.

Thanks everyone!! I think we will keep it. My younger daughter and I did it last year and it was one of our favorite experiences. Just hate to miss out on Raglan this trip but you are all right...we are already in MK for the day (plus it is a travel day) & my oldest and hubby haven't been there so do we really want to give it up and leave for DS and then try to go back for Wishes after dinner or just stay in MK the whole time....you are all right...our best bet is to just stay in the park and enjoy the whole MK experience from start to finish! :-) Maybe something else in our plans will end up changing and we can squeeze in Raglan there. LOL
