Especially if you had the $1.18 and $0.93 rate that happened a year ago...

We have pushed back our dates to this year but they are still not open...

They are not honouring the reservation...

We called to confirm for our October dates. First, they have the wrong dates, but now they say that they are not honouring our ressie.

If we would not have called, we would not have known. I am very angry. I had always said that if they did not want to honour the reservation, all they had to do was say so but to not be informed that they are going to leave us high and dry...NOT FAIR!!!

I am hopping mad :furious:

I can just see someone showing up and finding an empty hotel.

And now they are saying that it's not going to open up as a holiday inn at all, It's going to be a Palace????

I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but they have been playing Phone defense for a week now...No one will come out and say we a screwed but they won't tell us where we can stay...

I am now off to look at SKYAUCTION.com A place I know I can trust the customer service.

Did you contact Sheraton Safari? I just emailed Barbara.Anderson@ihrco.com, she is the reservations manager at the Safari, and changed my dates last week to Dec. She stated in the email that they will honor the reservations from Holiday Inn only thru 2006. Good Luck! :wizard:

Thanks because I have been getting nowhere fast...

I will give that email a try...

We drove by this hotel a couple of weeks ago. It has yellow tape preventing people from entering the property and each time we drove by we saw no work being done. It is evident it is far from complete.

We were just lamenting on this yesterday as we drove by. Nothing apparent is being done. Can you imagine the money they are likely losing by not having that location open? It will be great when there is another choice at DTD again.

Here is the email I got today...Guess I am out of luck... I am just really peeved that they did not call us to tell us we were Completely out of luck. Especially when the owners of the Sheraton are the same people that own the Holiday Inn but they act like they don't know anything. We all know that is HOGWASH!!!

Good Morning,

I received your email, and I am very sorry for your inconvenience. Back in 2005 we assisted the Holiday Inn with relocating some of their guest after they had to close. We no longer have any records of the Holiday Inn’s future reservations, or information on the Hotels status. If you need assistance in confirming a reservation for a future trip to Orlando I can see if we have any special rate’s. If I can be of any other assistance please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Barbara Anderson

Ugh.

Especially after all the coverage Holiday Inn got on the news regarding the price snafu...and that they very clearly said that they would honour the reservations.

You know, I think I would send "Today" a copy of that email... or the BetterBusinessBureau...

Let us know!

The HI isn't open, they physically can't honor the reservation. OP is right, guests should have been contacted but I don't think the hotel is under any obligation to find another hotel that will honor the rate. Offering a refund is sufficient. OP was owed a phone call. I don't even think these were original reservations but were re-scheduled $1.

I think I posted some comments and questions about this in late winter of this year. I had given up on my reservations after talking with Holiday Inn and the Sheraton Safari. They (HI) found a way of having those reservation trashed. I would suggest anyone who has these reservations call ahead.
