I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful company you have and how pleased my family was with the services of FL Tours!
Our family of five arrived at the airport behind schedule on the evening of July 16th. We were a little nervous that our limo (which was a complete surprise for our three adult children) would not be waiting for us. We need not worry.
The look on our children's faces when they saw our driver, Michael, standing at the bottom of the escalator and holding a sign with our name on it (spelled correctly at that), was priceless. I only wish I could have taken a picture. They were grinning from end to end and still had no idea we were going to be riding off in a stretch limo (they thought we were renting the dreaded mini van
.)
We signaled to Michael that we were indeed the "H" family and we all introduced ourselves. Michael took us over to the baggage terminal and hooked us up with a porter. He then told us he would be outside waiting in a certain area for us. This appears to be airport regulation. After getting our luggage, we went outside and there stood Michael in front of a brand new looking sparkling white stretch limo. My children started giggling with laughter! He held the door open for us all to get inside the cool air conditioned, dark leather surfaced seating areas. He then stuck his head in and pointed out that we had cold soft drinks, bottled water, ice, glasses and napkins. Also showed us the radio, TV and intercom controls.
The inside of the limo was just as beautiful as the outside. Fiber optic lights twinkled all the over the interior of the limo that night and really made our trip feel magical. All but one of our suitcases (11 in all) fit in the trunk. Michael placed one up front with him.
Michael stopped by a 24 hour grocery store on the way to the hotel. My husband and two children ran in and out and off we went to the Portofino Bay Resort and Universal (which was another surprise for the children.)
One of my daughters noticed the sun roof and asked Michael if she could stick her head out like she had seen in the movies. He told her that it was the law to keep the sunroof locked because of a tragic accident that happened elsewhere (in California I think). A passenger was killed. I was glad he wouldn't let her perform that stunt while moving but he did say later that an arrangement could be made for a photo opt if the limo was not moving. We didn't want to cause any trouble and forgot to ask him about the next leg of our trip. BTW, for each leg of our trip, we told the children that we would not be having the limo again and that we would be taking hotel/cruise shuttles. It was fun each time we would come outside and there Michael would be again.
My 23 year old commented that it was too bad there was no liquor.
I don't know if Michael heard that comment or what, but when he came to pick us up for our leg to the cruise port, there was a bottle of Champaign on ice...compliments of FL Tours.
We had just eaten breakfast and didn't much feel like Champaign, so we took it along with us on the cruise to enjoy later. Thank you Andy!
Let me back up a bit...When Michael delivered us at the hotel, he gave my husband the option of paying him then or waiting until the end of our 4 leg trip. He then said that he would be our driver for the entire trip. We went ahead and paid him up front. We were very happy that Michael would continue to be with us. He is such a nice man.
We had a message from Andy on our machine at Portofino confirming our pick up for the next morning. Once again, Michael was right on time. He made us feel so special. What a relaxing ride to the port and to be able to drive up right in front of the cruise terminal with everyone watching us get out was very exciting. Once again, Michael arranged for a porter to take our bags. We had an original pick up time for 9:00 am from the port. I asked if we could possibly be picked up at 8:30 instead and Michael said "no problem!" Sorry that we caused you to miss 30 minutes of sleep, Michael. We said goodbye to Michael for a week.
After disembarkation from our ship, Michael was waiting for us on schedule. We were so thrilled to see him again. We were whisked away from the port and on our way to the Caribbean Beach resort for one more day of fun at Magic Kingdom (also a surprise.)
The following morning was very sad indeed as we were ending our vacation. However, seeing Michael's grinning, smiling face while holding the door open for us in front of the Caribbean beach Resort reception area, made the day brighter. We all had our sun glasses on and ducked into the limo while several vacationers looked on. We felt like VIP.
The ride to the airport was very comfortable with access to iced beverages once again as on all the legs of the trip. Before we were ready, we arrived at the airport and said our goodbyes. I must have taken four or five pictures of Michael and the limo as we were headed toward the baggage check-in area. Tears were in all of our eyes as we waved goodbye.
My husband says that hiring the limo was the best money he has ever spent and we will never again rent the "mini van" again.
When we asked our children last night what their favorite part of our trip was...they all agreed that the limo rides won hands down over the theme parks and the cruise! Next time, we will just let them ride around Orlando all week with Michael while we vacation on the cruise ship.
Thank you once again Andy and Michael for giving us quality service and helping to make our vacation so special. What great sponsors the DIS board has!
