To and from KSC

Hey everyone. On our upcoming trip in August, my wife to be an I plan to take one day away from the Disney craziness and head out to the coast to visit the Kennedy Space Centre.

What we are trying to figure out is what is the best choice. Renting a car or taking a bus tour. I have found a few bus tours, but none of the ones I have seen seem very "trustworthy" like Mears (is there a Mears tour?). So I looked into the rental car idea. I like that idea and would totally be tempted to spend a little more and book a convertible. I mean who doesn't want to drive a convertible in the hot summer Florida sun? But anyways, one of the things that concerns me about doing that is tolls. Does anyone know what kind of tolls there are between WDW and KSC? It's not that I wouldn't want to pay them, but I like to know what I am getting into. Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Check here and see if this is what you want. It says that there is a shuttle to KSC. You might want to call Mears directly and see what the actual details are.

The drive there is pretty easy and straightforward. You can rent a car for a day or two at WDW. You can rent from Alamo/National at either the Car Care Center close to the entrance to MK, or at the Dolphin. There are many other companies with offices/counters in the DTD resorts. For instance, Budget is at the Doubletree.

I was looking at renting from the Car Care Center. Do you know what the tolls would be or where I could find out what the tolls cost?

I drive it quite often but have a pass so don't know how much the tolls are. It would depend on which way you went. Just bring a roll of quarters and you would be fine. I would rent the car, it is an easy drive to KSC.
