Well it's what spurred me on to buy my first terramundi pot on 1st Feb 2013.

So tonights the night we're going to open the pots as the holiday needs to be paid on Friday. As you can see from the photo below we've managed to fill several more pots and they are all crammed full of £2 coins that will be going back into circulation as of tomorrow.

Fingers crossed we have a nice tidy amount when we've done counting it :goodvibes

Wow - that is amazing! Well done you! Would love to know how much you end up with.

We bought a terramundi pot back end Feb and it's about half to 3/4 full (hard to tell but it's now impossible to pick up with one had - has to be a good thing!). Ours stipulated on box that if full with £2 it should hold around £1,000. This is to put towards our spends :cool1:.

Hoping by end Feb 15 that we will have filled it, but boy, it takes some filling as it is 'pot bellied' meaning the middle bit takes an age to fill up .

Anyway, thanks for sharing - hope to hear how it goes - excited for you! :cool1:

I saw one of those in the shops not long after we booked. It was £20... I decided I'd sooner have the £20 to spend at Disney than on the pot! ;) I do love the look of them though!

Hope you have a nice surprise with your total! :D

Yay more £2 in circulation they've been hard to find lately. Can't wait to hear how much you saved.

We did this in 2012. My DH said that it was a waste of money buying a pot so he made me one out of an old tupperware wrapped in Xmas paper. It was hideous. We saved around £1200 and we have another one on the go for 2015.:thumbsup2

we only have one of those pots on the go...but we have put notes in it as well. Not sure when we are going to open ours yet.

Looking forward to knowing how much you've collected:goodvibes

Are you still counting .waiting in anticipation.I also save in a Terramundi ..
:surfweb:

Just to add, the one I mentioned above (holds around £1000 in £2 coins) cost me £8.50 which I didn't think was bad :thumbsup2. Have to say, there has been times I've been scratching around for change i.e. to pay the window cleaner, kids needed change for school etc, and I know, if I had been able to dip into that jar, I would have . So, for me, best it's sealed! ;)

And the grand total was ...................................£4025

OMG we were all in total shock, when we emptied all the tins and the pot into the lounge floor it looked like a haul of pirates treasure :)

Needless to say we were very happy and will definitely be saving that was again. Somehow it made it less of a chore and more fun.

Blimey, amazing. Pity the bank clerk ha ha.

Wow that's amazing well done! I save £2 coins as well but can't imagine finding that many they seem to be low in circulation.

OMG that is an amazing total - you deserve a massive pat on the back for that one! :thumbsup2

Looking at the pots you wouldn't think there would be so much but they are deceiving I think.

As for £2 coins in circulation, they are hard to come by, but I have found if you ask for a few in your change at shops/post office etc they are happy to oblige. My Mum (who is coming with us to WDW) goes to the bank every week with £10 note and gets it changed into £2 coins :lmao:.....

Wow, that's amazing! I toyed with the idea of getting a terramundi pot but DH objected to me spending £20 on something to help us save. Instead I got one from the poundshop that you need a can opener to get into so we're not tempted to dip in. Don't expect we'll have anything like the amount that you've got as we're just putting in anything less than 20p but hopefully we'll get enough to cover DS's spending money!

We have rules in our house. No-one spends a £2 coin. All spare change goes in the pigs. No-one opens the pigs. :lmao::lmao:

We have a specific one for the £2 and we also have one where we put notes. If we stop ourselves from getting that take away delivery and cook instead £20 goes in the pig, If we don't end up going to the cinema when we had planned to, £20 goes in the pig. If we win even £2.50 on the lottery, it goes in the pig.

Last year our hoard was £3500. At the end of our holiday we have $$$ left which we put in our US bank account. After just a few years of doing this we have enough to buy another 60 dvc points. We aren't going to WDW next year so by the time we do we are hoping to have enough spare change to buy an additional 150 points. (resale) :cool1::cool1:
