We are on the repositioning cruise from CA to FL. We are doing our own airfare and transfers. I will book FL Tours to take us from Port Canaveral to MCO. What is a good, reliable towncar service from LAX or SNA to Long Beaches Port?

Thanks for any help! I thought others on the Cruise board might want to find out as well.

I am sure you are probably correct. All I see from Disneycruise.com is we leave from LA. Doesn't specifically say the name of the Port. I am sure local people know where the Cruise ships dock.

Back to my question. Do you know of a good towncar company that will take you from the airport to the ship?

All I know is super shuttle - I am sure if you hop on over to the Disneyland board, they would have information over there - I am trying to find out for everyone as well - When you live here, you don't use transport service -

Hey, maybe I should set up my own - the DIS SUPER SHUTTLE!!!

It is the Port of Los Angeles......and your best bet would be a private van with Super Shuttle. We do it all the time, and they're great! And very inexpensive.

To be safe, I would think most people would choose to use the DCL transfers for the trips to and from the airport.

The main reasoning is LA traffic. You can fly to the port if it is clear. Should it gridlock, however, the chance exists to miss the boat. A DCL bus stuck in traffic would make the ship, since they won't leave without it.

Just a thought...

Super Shuttle has been around for a long time: http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/lax.htm

The Long Beach Cruise Terminal is owned by Carnival Cruise Line. It's used by Carnival and some Princess cruises. All other cruise lines use the World Cruise Center at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. DCL announced Los Angeles, not Long Beach.

The Port of Los Angeles is about 20 miles from Los Angeles International (LAX), 20 miles form Long Beach Airport (LGB), and 40 miles from Orange County John Wayne Airport (SNA).

Thanks! We took a Carnival Cruise to Mexico a few years ago and I guess I figured that is where DCL would be leaving as well.

Thanks for the information.

We have always used Super Shuttle from the airport the DL, but I did not know they would go to the Port as well. Thanks again!

Horace -

I just wanted to add that even thought the port is 20 miles from both LAX and Long Beach airports - The traffic from Long Beach airport would be much less than if you were coming from LAX - Are you sure the port is 20 miles from Long Beach Airport? Doesn't seem right, but that is me probably figuring in the traffic -

You mentioned that it would be a shame not to have the DCL by the Queen Mary - If you have seen the Queen Mary lately, you wouldn't be saying that - It is in desperate need of a paint job - It is beautiful on the inside though -

Bit if trivia - Did you know that Disney use to own (or lease) the Queen Mary - Disney was thinking of putting in a water park right by the Queen Mary - You know Disney - They love to monopolize the area if they can - Disney decided against that and then let go of the Queen Mary - The Queen Mary is unfit for voyage -

Long Beach has done so much to their city - I lived there for 12 years and just recently moved to the neighboring city It would be great to have DCL at the Long Beach port -

DCL will port at San Pedro. The port at Long Beach is exclusive to Carnival (and now the Diamond Princess).

Yes, don't forget to add Long Beach to your list of airports to fly into in addition to SNA & LAX. Of the three airports, I'd pick Long Beach if I was sailing from San Pedro.
