Today is the day! We've been waiting for today since February! Hi I'm Chelsa and my Hubs, Dan and our kiddos Dominic (10) and Chloe (9) are in the car headed to Vancouver Canada to board the Wonder for the season opening 9 night Alaska cruise.

This is our second cruise. We went on a 7 night Bahamas cruise from Galveston in December. I've read tons of trip reports in preparation for these cruises. I've wanted to write a trip report and thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Since we'll be in Alaska and Internet access will be easier to get, I'll try to update this almost daily. Kinda like a rolling trip report. I'll give it a try. :)

Since it's the Memorial Day weekend, we left our house around 05:30. Thankfully the roads are pretty clear. We were hoping to beat any rush of people trying to flee the state. Hopefully it doesn't make for two grumpy kids. And a grumpy mom.

We made it to Canada! The drive felt so looooooong and it rained most of the way. I refuse to accept the forecast. We're on vacation and it is supposed to be sunny and gorgeous the whole time. As we pulled up to the border it was trying super hard to be blue and sunny.

Only a couple things to note so far:

1) We really wanted to get passport stamps from Canada. Dan was worried if we asked for a stamp we would get automatically secondaried and delay getting to the hotel. We hadn't eaten lunch yet and we're getting pretty hungry. We pulled up and the border guard asked us a bunch of questions. Where we were going, when the cruise left, where we were staying tonight, how long we'd be gone etc. She started to hand back the passports and Dan asked for a stamp if it wasn't too much trouble. She said not at all. It didn't delay us any longer than it took for her to stamp our passports. So if that's something you're interested in and are driving that's how it went for us.

2) We've heard reports of the Vancouver area being notably bad for car break ins. When we got to our hotel we unloaded everything just in case. That would be a nightmare to wake up happy to be going on a cruise only to find our car broken into. So my advice is unpack the whole car even though it's a pain in the butt.

Last night I was up until 2am cleaning, packing, and finishing C and D's costumes for the Pixar party. At this point the plan is to find lunch (Dan is out doing that right now), check out the indoor pool and hot tub, light dinner then bed. Can't wait for the bed part.

I'm going to try to post pictures of Navigators as we go. Not sure how this will work though. :) I've been wishing I have a navigator to check out from this season. That's the worst part about a season opener. I'm so excited to get on board. A few more hours. I can't sleep.

Yay for this review!! We are going on this cruise next week! I didn't realize people dressed up for the Pixar party! See, always learning something new!! Have fun! Looking forward to your report!
