To Agent or Not To Agent

I travel frequently and use a travel agent only for my WDW trips. Using an agent saves me a lot of time and money. I do not have time to look for room discounts or to be on hold with Disney, so using an agent is very convenient. My agent (Magical Vacations) automatically applies discount codes to my reservation when they come out. She also handles all of my airport transfers, dining reservations, and special event tickets.

I used a travel agent for the first time this time--Suzy from Mouse Fan Travel.

She's been wonderful. She made all my ADRs (and I got everything I wanted), she is a GREAT communicator. I email her a question and I hear back within hours, if not minutes. It's also free! So far, I'm liking the travel agent route. I also got a free subscription to touringplans.com by using them, which is fun to use for planning.

We're a Suzy customer too. I cannot say enough good things about her abilities, professionalism, and overall interest in making sure that we have a good trip. I'm not trying to shill for our TA or anything, but was just throwing in my opinion as well.

I've learned so much on disboards, but I've used Dan F. at Dreams Unlimited for our last two trips. He even made my ADRs on a Sunday morning! I highly recommend him.

We have used AAA for all of our Disney trips (WDW and cruise.) My agent has always gone above and beyond to make our trips effortless. We get the discount on our room which saves us about $300 per trip. We get lots of packages in the mail - brochures and park maps, planning DVD, AAA tips, and for our cruise we received a free copy of Birnbaums DCL book. She always sends us reminder emails for final payment, ADRs, etc. I will email her the list of ADRs that I want for each day and a time frame, and she emails me the confirmation numbers once the ADRs are made. We have always gotten what we wanted, and most times within the time frame we wanted. The few times she had trouble, she would make multiple ADRs for me, then call and give me the options, and then cancel the ones we didn't need. I have always been able to make as many changes as I wanted, and they are handled immediately. I also love the convenience of emailing her with a question at 1am when it hits me, then finding the answer waiting when I sit down with my coffee the next morning.
