TMX Elmo preorder?

My girls are 5 and 3. Neither one is particularly into Sesame Street, although they can recognize the characters. Wondering if I should pre-order a TMX Elmo for one of them for Christmas. My girls are usually not "up" on the "latest and greatest" toys so even if it becomes a craze this Christmas, I can't tell if they'd even feel like they were missing out. I don't want Santa to get "stuck" trying to get another one made in time for Christmas though, KWIM? What are you guys at the Dis doing?

May I ask? What is TMX Elmo? I've haven't seen it yet. My ds three loves elmo. Should I pre-order it? Ok going to go and google it.

It's the 10th anniversary edition of Tickle Me Elmo--TMX stands for Tickle Me Elmo 10 or Tickle Me Elmo Extreme. Supposedly it moves more like a puppet, but other than that there is no information out on it yet. The only analysts who saw it at the Toy Fair in February had to sign confidentiality agreements. I just don't know if the buzz over something translates into my child's enjoyment of a $40 stuffed toy. If it ends up being really cool, then it would be worth it, but if the novelty wears off then it would be a waste for me. I just can't imagine what could be so great about a Tickle Me Elmo this time around. I hope I am proven wrong. Still want to know what others are doing.

I'm not planning on getting it since I know my kids won't be into it, but if you aren't sure you could always preorder it, then ebay it if they don't ask for it.

I've thought of that, but I've never sold anything on ebay and I'm not particularly keen on getting started there. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I wouldn't pre-order it. The item will be in plentiful supply when it hits the stores.
