Oh crap, I'm booked on TMA flights out of Syracuse for Jan. and now they're bankrupt. Luckily we paid by credit card but now don't know if we should still go and pay the astronomical cdn prices and fly out of pearson or just cancel the whole trip :confused3 We could drive as well but that's a pretty long drive for a 2year old! Why don't we live live closer to Buffalo!!!!!ahhhh! :guilty:

Have you tried Jet Blue they also fly out of Syracuse to orlando, how far is it to drive to Albany, Southwest flies from there. Driving is not bad even with a two year old. WE drove from Ontario to Las Vegas (3 days) with a 2 year old and a 9 month old. You just have to be prepared to make lots of stops, we always tried to find someplace the kids could run and play, and try to do as much driving as possible when they are sleeping.

Good luck hope everything works out.

parkerpooh, I was in the same boat. We were flying TMA out of Syracuse in less than 3 weeks. I found out about TMA on Friday, and rebooked immediately with JetBlue. We changed our travel date by 1 day, because it was much cheaper to fly on Thursday vs. Friday as planned. In total, it cost $300. Cdn more than the TMA flights. ( I had a $50. discount with TMA, so the difference was really $240. from regular priced flights). Considering I was booking less than 21 days out, I am thrilled with the price we paid.

Hi we were to fly tma in March? What did your credit card co say, mine said that they have to wait for either the day we were to fly to come and go, or they have to wait until TMA officially says they are bankrupt? I need to rebook flights ASAP. I am flying Jetblue on THursday to NYC so I will see what the TMA desk has posted at the Syracuse airport. While there I will rebook on Jetblue. Looks like about $60 US for all four off us, so I will take that. I

Our credit card co.(AMEX) said that it will take 4-6 weeks to have our money refunded. TMA filed a claim 7 so that is most definitely bankruptcy and you should be getting your $$ returned to you before then I would think. We've rebooked with southwest out of Buffalo. It's farther to drive but the flights are direct and much cheaper than anything I could find with Jet blue.

Jetblue came through for us above and beyond the call of duty. Told Jeblue we were booked to leave on Transmeridian for spring break so they rebooked us on their flights for $63.40 one way on the exact same dates taxes incl. as we had with Transmeridian. This is flying from syracuse to orlando. They said they are trying to help out passengers who were stung by Transmeridian. They have a few seats available on some of their flights so it is worth calling them and talking to them. They really made my day. Plus saved me $150.00 us on four tickets :cool1: Jetblue really cares.
