Hi - looking at transportation map if we go to Typhoon Lagoon in AM can we bus to Downtown Disney in PM or will bus be going opposite direction in PM ? Or can we walk? Best way to get from DTD to BCV? We would be returning around 4pm

Bus goes in opposite direction: (any) resort > Downtown Disney > Typhoon Lagoon.
You could take a taxi, or bus to SSR, OKW, POR, POFQ - then boat to DtD.

That seems so silly when TL is right beside DTD. :( i hate being inefficient when it comes to travel (ie no backtracking).

Or we could bus to OKW or SSR and then walk to DTD. Right? If we did that is there a closer stop at either resort we should get off at? I understand they are large resorts w multiple bust stops throughout, so just wondering what ones would have easiest access to DTD walkways (and how long of a walk?)

I've read about "terrible" bus service FROM DTD to any resort, but is that at any point in the day or just later at night?

Bus service, to and from, DTD to resorts can be time consuming. I'm not at all sure what it is you're trying to accomplish.
Are you trying to get to DTD so you can get to BCV? Or are you just trying to get to DTD and spend some time before returning to your resort?
What you may find to be inefficient may actually be more efficient for the Disney buses.

So, you can take the bus to SSR, then walk over to DTD. I believe it is the Congress Park section that you would get off at in order to walk over to DTD.

If you get off at the Congress park stop at SSR it is about 10-12 minute walk.

DTD buses are crazy busy in the evening especially on the weekend. We like to go ato DTD in the mornings because it is not crowded.

Thanks for the replies. We are having a waterpark and downtown disney day that day, so I want to go from BCV to TL for the AM, then in early afternoon leave TL and go to DTD. We have 2kids aged 6&8 and would like to visit world of disney, possibly TREX before heading back to BCV in evening. My expectation is 3 hours at waterpark, 2 hours DTD to shop and eat.

Sorry if I wasn't specific re: itinerary and WHY I was asking best way to get from TL to DRD and then back to BCV.

Our kids walk 6+km a day to school and back etc so we are looking forward to walking if it's an option rather than waiting around for buses or "backtracking".

Oh our planned TL and DTD day is a Monday. I wanted to avoid both on a weekend. Also first Monday of Epcot F&W show so I figured waterpark might be less busy. I'm a newbie but just based on what I've read.

Looking at transportation map and it appears that congress park section of SSR is serviced by internal buses. Best bet would be I'm guessing bus from TL to OKW and walk to West Side as closest option. But if SSR bus came first take it?

Save yourself a lot of time and aggrevation and take a cab from TL to DTD Marketplace, cab will drop you right at World of Disney, cost less than $10 incl tip and you'll be there in 5 minutes, it's less than a mile and a half ride.
Then just bus back to BCV.

While I agree with cab from TL to DTD is the better bet... you can take bus to Saratoga and get off at Congress Park stop (the regular bus goes to all internal stops at SSR). 10 minute walk from there to DTD. If it is a nice day, and everyone is still full of energy -- this is a nice walk.

Travel time is "expensive" time, no doubt. But personally, we hate being wet and/or with pool hair. LOL. Because of that, I'd go back to BCV, change, and bus back to DTD. But I am likely in the minority on that.

There are multiple bus stops within SSR. Each bus will stop at each bus stop, before leaving the resort for it's destination. If you take a bus from TL, to SSR, the bus will stop at Congress Park, from where you can walk to DTD.

Thanks so much for all the input! I just assumed internal bus meant different bus! lol

Good point about being wet - are there not change rooms with showers at the water parks? We are fairly casual family in terms of dress/hair - i teach yoga, etc - hair gets pulled in a pony tail, no make up so really not a big concern unless there is no place to change but even at that I'd use a stall in the restrooms.

The water parks do have showers and changing rooms. I always change before going back to our resort.

The bus from TL to SSR is the DTD bus. After stopping at Congress Park, the very next stop is DTD Marketplace, a ride of about 3 minutes.

Just stay on the bus! Nothing is to be gained by getting off and walking. You'll already have endured the time consuming part of getting from TL to SSR and visiting the other 4 bus stops at the resort.

I just keep learning more and more lol - I am assuming the bus driver will also be a resource and confirm best route when I get on if asked :)
