We are spending this years trip at the dark side (gasp! And yes, I do wish we had time for the motherland, but we do not, so Harry Potter it is for us this year).

Anyway, we do want a bit of Disney Magic, so apart from DTD, were trying to figure out what water park to go to. We did TL last year and absolutely loved it, but we didn't have nearly enough time there (5hrs). But we cant figure out if we should repeat TL or try BB. Our kids are 9,13; 14.5,14.5. They don't want to be bored and I wonder if BB would be better themed for them being that they're older ?

I have heard that it isn't as nicely themed as TL, and that concerns me a little bit. Is the lazy river as nice as TL? Is it geared more towards older kids/teens than TL? Give me your opinions!

Give Blizzard Beach a try. I like the theming at BB just as well as TL. I would say the lazy rivers are equal.

We slightly prefer BB. My DDs are 13 and 11. Lots of different slides. Lazy Rivers are equal. I don't understand the theme critique at all. BB also has the tween area Snow Patrol. Lots of fun! The family raft ride, Teamboat Springs is our favorite water ride in all of Disney.

Does everyone wear water shoes? Or can you get away with wearing Keens? It's impossible to find my teenage son water shoes or Keens as he wears a sz 15/16
But I do think BB might be quite fun, so we'll prob give it a try.

My kids liked BB better because there are more water slides. We only wore flip flops.

We wore watershoes for about 10 minutes before we ditched them. They aren't necessary.

On the watershoes comment - it HUGELY depends on when you go. I've definitely had some crazy hot-foot dance moments at BB, particularly when heading up to summit plummet via the stairs. It's generally fine and they try to keep the sidewalks cool and moist, but I highly recommend at least flip flops for comfort when walking around. Just stick 'em on your hands for the slides!

BB IMHO is ridiculously better than TL. i went to TL for the first time this year and was very disappointed! only good thing there i liked was the water coaster Crushin Gusher. BB has alot more slides and the lines moved much faster!

I don't know why my notifications didn't come for this. Thanks for the responses! We are going to do BB and rent a few chairs/umbrellas like we did at TL. I think the kids will enjoy it. We will probably spend the day at BB, and then change there and head to DTD for the evening/dinner.
