TL on Saturday--best strategy?

We will be in the parks from mid morning Thursday to Sunday afternoon. We are doing MK on Thurs., MGM on Friday. We are going to dinner at Epcot on Sat. but are considering spending the early day at Typhoon Lagoon, since we had a blast there last year.
What is the best way to handle TL on a Saturday, besides getting there at open? We love the wave pool and the lazy river but the can take or leave the slides.
