Hey TV personality MagiKitty! We love you for who you are...money isn't everything! (Although it does help!) You will just have to be our guide if the NYC TK meet works out! How do you think you would have done with the questions on the show...If you can't answer that with your disclosure agreement, you can tell us later. I still am excited to see the show. That is cool that you can still get called. Is Regis having more or would it be someone else? Glad the doll trip went so great...it was your reward for trying so hard! All that trivia was not wasted!

It looks like TX is really hurting for rain...the ground had cracks in it. We are having a hot, sunny day. I think tomorrow is to be hottest of the year so far. Our local peaches are yummy this year.

MK, I'm glad you had fun. I dont understand though. You were sponsored by Disney????? 'splain Lucy!!

Monday August 3 Loch Lomond to Inverness
.
I had breakfast this morning with 3 grouchy old women. All they did was complain about one thing after another! I do believe I will avoid this bunch at future meals.

On the bus, I was sitting with the fun crowd--Dick & Jennifer, Kenny & Judy, and some other characters. We were talking about the weather and being cold, and Kenny said, “well, you’re tiny, you’ll always be cold”!!!! Ummmm, tiny? Me? I don’t THINK so! I’ll agree to the ‘fit’ comment of a few days ago, but tiny is pushing it just a bit.

Anyway, as we drove away from the hotel, along the banks of Loch Lomond, Karen put on a CD of Allistair MacDonald singing, what else? “Loch Lomond”! We all sang along on the choruses. It was raining a little, and Karen said, “oh, Mother Nature has decided to wash the tree leaves”! The word for the tour (from Jennifer and Dick) is “gobsmacked”, as in, “When I saw the price of gas in Scotland, I was just gobsmacked! We’re getting a kick out of that one.

Our morning break stop was at ‘The Green Welly Shop”. They actually won an award for their bathrooms, which were immaculate. I got some sweets for Laura (which she had requested), and a cup of hot chocolate for me, as I was chilly. Apparently this little shop is a big deal, but I’ll be damned if I can figure out why.

We drove up along the Great Glen, and I noticed lots of campgrounds along the way. We made several photo stops--a waterfall, the area of the Glencoe massacre (we stopped at the Glencoe visitor center), Ben Nevis (the highest spot in the UK), and the Commando Monument, where the Green Berets trained during WWII. We drove past Lochaber, which is where I own my Highland Estate (an entire 10 square feet of Scotland belongs to me, making me ‘Lady Wendy’.)

We stopped for lunch at an old hunting lodge, the Corriegeur Lodge. There are very tall pine trees there, and one is about 15 feet shorter than the others. Why? The top was shorn off by a low flying fighter jet!! :scared1: For lunch I had a “Timbale of Roasted Vegetables with Farmer Cheese”, which was so cool I took a picture of it! It was yummy too. I had Prime Rib, which was very different from what we have at home--so tender and really good. For dessert, I had Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was to die for. They had a little doggie, a longhaired dauschund, who was very cute and quite friendly. Petting him made me miss my Dukie!

We drove north, and things started to look a bit familiar. Had I been there before? Turns out I have! We stopped at Neptune’s Staircase, a series of 5 locks, one atop another, that we had driven past last year when we were here! I had my picture taken with a piper. We drove up along Loch Ness, but didn’t see Nessie. We did stop at Urquart Castle, which is just ruins, but we got some good pictures there. The Rowan trees are all in bloom and are so pretty with their red flowers. Apparently the tradition is to plant one outside your front door to protect you from the fairies. There were some coaches there from the Loch Ness tour company, and the license plate of one of them was NESI BUS, and another was NESS BUS. Pretty clever.

We arrived at our hotel, the Kingsmills, and got checked in. My room is not as far away this time. It is a big room again, and for some odd reason, a handicapped room! Nice to have the higher toilet though. I finally managed to get through to DSis, finishing up the time on my first SIM card, so I put the newer one in. Only problem is, I now have NO idea what my phone number is, so no one can call me!

At 6:30 we gathered for a reception, complete with bagpipes. The piper piped us in to dinner, where we were entertained by his music and by Highland dancers. He even piped in the Haggis, which was really cool, and read Robert Burns’ “Ode To A Haggis”. Yes, I did eat some, but still found it a bit too peppery for my liking. The ****-a-Leekie soup tasted a lot like mine, and the lamb was good (but not as good as last night). Dessert was Raspberry Cranachan, which was soooo good, even if it is laced with booze!

Our weather has held out and been very nice so far. Tomorrow is supposed to get to 75 degrees! I think I may need to break out one of my short sleeved shirts…

Wendy, sounds like you're having a marvelous time! I'm so jealous! Mmm...the food is sounding fantastic. You mean the Green Welly shop didn't sell, well, Wellies?

ABC and ESPN are both owned by the Disney company. So, Millionaire is really ABC, which is really Disney. I did wear my Mickey head earrings, which they loved!

I did know the questions I saw. I was just too slow. It was rather frustrating to sit there, so close, and not be able to shout out the answers!

Double fingers crossed for you D&D! I didn't take Spanish either. I should have, but then I wouldn't have been able to go on an exchange to France. It was all about the perks. I do regret it now though. When I'm struggling to find the word in Spanish, I resort to Filipino! And just hope its somewhat close...usually not, though.

Well, I broke down and watched J&K. She's having her kitchen redone! Poor thing--couldn't get the pots from the bottom shelf! I think she cringed everytime the kids said they missed Daddy when they were at the beach. She just makes such a big production of I never put a tent together but I am going to now...she only put the little one together anyway. The PA's did the big one. I thought she was such an organized person...she didn't even have the smore stuff organized before burning the marshmallows! OK...I'll cool off!

What's everyone up to tonight? It's slow here.

Racer---got to find out what happened to Jr. I didn't get home in time but mom said he was doing ok but then fell back near the end of the race???

Who is glad they already got their DW tickets????

Good morning! Its supposed to be a scorcher here....bring it on?! I miss summer!

I missed J&K last night. Completely forgot all about it. Watched a bit of More to Love--what i could deal with. I really connected with these women....I have totally felt/thought/experienced what they have. I do hope at the very least, this show brings some wisdom to people and to see that us big girls can be fun/sexy/attractive. There was one girl who was a little too desperate and I had to change the channel.

All these Millionaire commercials just gets me more mad everytime I see it.

Let's have a good one everyone! Enjoy the day!

It's only to get to 87 today but the humidity is 65 now! I went to exercise already---had to have Patrick in for his blood transfusion (oil change) early so went right there. Pat had his free car wash so he didn't mind drying off in the sun while I exercised. He's glad to be in from the sun now!

Hey Racer...I don't know how great the reverse psychology was for Kyle but not picking him sure helped your score---4th this week. Great job!

MagiKitty---I saw Hello Kitty undies at Vanity Fair yesterday and thought of you!
Keep cool today...

D&DDisney If you know Latin maybe you could pick up Spanish quicker.
MagiKitty Love you theory..if you don't know the word in on language try a different one. I assume Filipino/Tagalog has words that are similar to Spanish?

I actually looked at More to Love but couldn't take the crying. The intro says American women are size 14. Are these women supposed to be size 14? if so I must look a lot worse that I thought! I do hope they remember that they are worthwhile even after the show. :goodvibes

Hello TKers!

It's a beautiful day here today! Bright sunshine, temps near 80 and the kids are at Day Camp. What more can you ask for?

Sukie should be making port in Hait today according to the itinerary that she left for me. I'll have to look at it again when I go over to feed her kitties to see where she is going to be tomorrow. I soooo can't wait to hear if she was surprised by my surprise!

I also can't wait to hear about the Disney trip that a friend went on. I think I remembered mentioning on here that we(Sukie and I) were helping a friend plan her WDW trip which they are on right now. Hopefully they are having a great time. I will say this, way, way, way, way deep down inside myself I have this really nasty thought of hoping that they experience some of the "not so nice" things that my Mom and I tried to help them avoid. The friend didn't seem like she was listening to us but then again I am hoping that if she did come across some of the not so nice things maybe some of what we said did sink in and she was able to use it.

I suppose I better go put some laundry away.

Have a great one!

Well, we made it back from our worldwind trip so are ya'll ready for another of my long winded posts? The trip down had a lot of traffic but was mostly uneventful, except for seeing a grassfire in the median on the way down and another one on the way back. It took us 4 stops to get through one red light in San Antonio! I took along my new camera to get in a little practice before the big trip in December and took quite a few shots just to see what it could do. Great outside but nothing spectacular indoors. Probably can't blame the camera... most likely the operator. I got a kick out of the folks in Hamilton. They are really big into their dove hunting season. They start advertising a month in advance with giant banners strung across the highway. I can only imagine when deer season gets close!

And of course, everything is big in Texas.... cows and even giant rocking chairs.

When we arrived at our hotel they gave us the wrong type of room so we had to stand around for awhile until they were able to relocate us to another room. I did get our stay free using my reward points but I still wanted the suite I had requested. DH snores like a bear so we have to have a door between us if the rest of us want to get any sleep. After we got our bags settled we headed out for bowling. Sad, I know to drive 400 miles to go bowling. Since DS and I both enjoy it we consider it a must do when we are on our trip..... he, as a challenge to me because I usually always beat him and me because it is one of the few things I actually have any skill at. If we actually had a bowling alley in our little podunk town that we could go to regularly I imagine we would both do quite well. Anyway, he and I played 3 games. He beat me 2 times by 10 and 12 points but I beat him by 40 points and got my highest game ever of 177! I only left one open frame. :woohoo: After bowling we headed to Pier 99 which has some of the best seafood you will ever find. The place looks like a dump from the outside... well, and pretty much on the inside.... but they know how to do seafood. It it so funny cause if this place was at home we would probably never even consider going in a place that looks like it does. They have live bands out on the open patio and obviously cater to the party crowd.

We chose to sit inside with the air conditioning and ended up waiting nearly an hour for our food which we would never do anywhere else.
When we were sufficiently miserable we waddled back to the car for the drive back to our hotel. I had promised DD I would take her swimming while DH took DS on at the tennis court. As I got my swim suit on I was reminded why I am glad that we do not have a full length mirror at home! I hate public pools first off because I hate to expose anyone to this body but second because there are always a bunch of rowdy kids. This time was no exception so we only stayed about 30 minutes. Got back to the room and had to call for extra bedding to make up the hide-a-bed. After a nice long wait DD and I finally got to collapse. I don't think either of us moved again until morning.

Next morning we went through the normal routine of "What do you wanna do?" "I don't know what do you wanna do?". DH wasn't feeling very well so my plan to go back to Pier 99 seemed out of sight. I also wanted to go see the Lexington but after reading about their new theater decided it would probably be too intense for DD so we skipped going to tour the ship and watch their interactive fighter pilot show. Maybe next time. So it was decided that we would run by the airport for a cappuccino which was supposed to be amazing (but ended up being a disappointment), go find DD a souvenir that we had promised her, consider going to Pier 99 again and go bowling again. We arrived on the part of the island where the souvenir shops were and it was CRAZY crowded with all the summer beach tourists. The boys dropped us off at the "Bruce store" so we could grab DD a toy while they looked for a parking spot.
2636523010102182720S500x500Q85.jpg

The first store was a bust so we went next door and satisfied DD. Called DH and he could not find any other place to park. They were even charging $10 to park in the lot where the restaurant was! He ended up picking us up and we hightailed it out of the insanity. DS and I bowled again but our hot streak had died so we were ready to give it up after 2 games. I won one and he won the other. Just in case you never knew... there are apparently muscles you use when bowling that combined with long hours of sitting will leave you with an aching backside. Anyway, I then worked on getting in some more reading in my UG to WDW on the long drive home.

I did some calculating. Our trip took just about 37 hours. 16 were spent driving, 9 sleeping, which left just about 12 hours to eat and have a little fun. Was it worth it? The jury is still out on that but I am sure when I get to craving seafood again I will probably be ready to pack up and go again. At least I got to eat at my favorite place in all of Texas. DH swears he will never drive again because it stresses him out so much to drive in the traffic. He has a plane and he and DS flew down in 3 hours a few months back but DD is afraid of flying in the small plane and I am not much better. Since he has promised he would never make her fly unless she wants to it may be a long time before we go to Corpus again or DH is going to have to eat his words and deal with traffic again...say in another year or so.

After a good night sleep in our own beds it was time to get up and go get our puppy dog. I have to say that this ended up being quite an expensive weekend! Paid up the vet bill of $962 and loaded up Tessie and her new satellite dish. Poor thing looks so humiliated but she has a huge nasty looking incision so she has to keep the cone on for 2 weeks.
2015277950102182720S500x500Q85.jpg

There may not be any paint left on the lower half of our walls and everyone of us may have black and blue shins because she is having quite a time navigating through the house. The vet said he should have the test results back in the next few days so we will find out if her tumors were malignant.

Thought I would share our trip while it was fresh on my mind. (though not hardly near as interesting as Wendy's trip!) Now I gotta go catch up and see what I have missed.

Let's see...
racetrack18kb, I never realized Marie was such a popular character. She does make a cute shirt and she does have a great name, doesn't she? :rotfl:
Too bad the amusement park ended up not going so well. I guess we get spoiled to our Disney parks where all is generally magical.

I hope Sukie is having a fantastic time on her cruise! Pikester, that is so sweet and thoughtful of you to have sent the "Romance Package".

LivinInTheCastle, I hope you get to feeling better. Can't say as I blame little LITC. I don't like hamburger helper either!

D&DDisney, you have my sympathy. Moving is no fun! Doing it twice would really stink. Just remember.. lift with your legs, not your back.
Have you checked flights leaving on different dates? We are leaving on Wednesday because the rate was $50 cheaper per seat than on the weekend, although I would think Tuesday should be pretty good too. I asked DH if he cared when we left. Of course, at the time he was fine with it but now he thinks it is crazy to be leaving in the middle of the week. Good luck finding a low fare.

whgrn, I am so loving your reports! I doubt I will ever make it out of the good old US but it is good to hear first hand from someone seeing the world. So many sights, amazing history and yummy food. Sounds wonderful! Hard to understand how some people could be grouchy when they should be having a wonderful trip.

BKMETV, those kids can get kinda scary when they have had a lack of sleep, can't they! I've been to the same point where there was no reasoning with my DD. StepD just informed me that our GS was going through a reign of terror from skipping his nap at his birthday party. Maybe that was another good reason we skipped the party. Anyway, I hope a little sleep helped your DD come back to her senses.

M&N, you are going to be at WDW the exact days we will be. Great minds think alike! I was thinking of doing the CP on the 7th but the newly announced speaker is Anika Noni Rose whom I have never heard of so I am thinking the 5th would be better with Steven Curtis Chapman but gotta decide if it is worth rearranging my plans.
We did actually end up getting some rain here in Texas over the past week. Man does my yard look better. DH will have to go back to mowing now!
I am glad I already got my WDW tickets. Don't know how much it saved but every little bit helps.

MagiKitty, well, even if you didn't become a millionaire on your first time you will still have some really cool memories. Bet you won't forget the Japanese dive bar anytime soon! :scared1: Plus maybe you will get called back.
Congrats on winning the raffle! I never won anything at the doll shows but one of my friends did once.

DL55, good luck with the job interview!

Hi Shmu and anyone else I missed!

mariezp I gather you did have fun on your trip. :3dglasses
I believe you meant to wish good luck to D&DDisney as I am not looking for a job much less have an interview. :thumbsup2

Marie....thanks for sharing your trip! Sounds like a great weekend! I totally get the bowling thing. We do have a place around here, but we rarely go. And then when we do, we're always "why don't we bowl more often?"

I love those dive places too. The worst food poisoning I ever had was a chi-chi Thai place. So I don't judge anything food establishment by its outside! I've had some of the best food of my life from street vendors!

I love the pictures of the big cow and big rocking chair. They're just random large objects around town?

Poor puppy. Goodness, she's beautiful though.

M&N..thanks for thinking of me and the unmentionables. Was it at the outlets? I'll have to check it out....I have some Kitty undies, but there's always room for more!

DL55...I think some of those women on More to Love made some bad wardrobe choices and need some underthing support. I'm the same sizes too, and I am glad just to be holding on! Of course, I'd love to go down a size, but as long as I'm not expanding anywhere else, I'm pretty happy. Don't underestimate the power of a good underwire!

:lmao: Good ol Pikester. I love the way your mind thinks. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Congrats at getting both kids to day camp. Wish I had mine enrolled today.

Sukie - Hope you are having a wonderful time!

Marie - Sounds like your trip was great! Love your pics! Your DD looks like she had a blast!

I am almost done w/ Back to School Shopping (supplies). :woohoo: Just got to find some erasable pens on sale, 1 black non-laminent folder, and a gym lock for DS11. Do you think that 5th grade is a little early to be showering after gym???:confused3 I thought that was a high school thing. The tought of my son and a bunch of 5th grade boys unsupervised in a locker room is a scary thought. :scared1:

Thanks for sharing the report and pics Marie. You did great with your new camera. Do they shoot the doves?

We didn't shower until 7th grade but then we were in elem for 6th grade---back in the dark ages. :rotfl: We did change for gym though. We had a uniform. I can remember that 1 piece blue uniform. I was chubby and it didn't look good!

Pikester---hope you are enjoying your kidless stayathome time! Been thinking of Sukie's cruise too...I'm sure she's having a great time.

DL55, I apologize for trying to get you a job! Let me try that again.... D&DDisney Good luck with the job interview! If that is the only mistake I made during my last looong post I would be seriously amazed!:lmao:

MagiKitty, glad to hear someone else likes bowling. For some reason it feels like when I tell someone we like bowling I assume they think we are all nerdy. (which we well may be) I don't think it ever evokes an image of ubber coolness, supreme athleticness or major awesomeness if you excel in bowling. Why is that? I think most people have played at some time in their life. Bowling.... truly a most unappreciated sport.
We always pass that big rocking chair when we drive to Corpus. It's sort of a landmark that we are getting closer to home. Anyway, when I was looking for something interesting to take pictures of I kept noticing all these large animals. Almost every town we went through seemed to have a giant animal sign. I should have took more but I was too buried in my book.
Thank you for the doggie complement. She really is a very pretty girl. She looks so pitiful in her collar. She can't hold her ears up straight.... and she is still running into the walls.
I agree with you. Underwires are amazing things. I have to say I would not know about the kitty undies but I will be sure to think of you too if I ever see any. :rotfl:

D&DDisney, yep, DD had a pretty good time but I know she was like the rest of us and glad to get out of the car. Thank heavens for portable DVD players, Nintendo DSs and stuffed animals.
I will trade you my DS18 for your DS11. I think I could deal with the boys lockroom dilema. What am I supposed to do with an 18 year old who just told me his girlfriend thinks he's SEXY? I am glad he is confiding in me but some of their conversations I could probably do without. I told him that when we go to WDW they better behave. He said "Oh yeah, there will be some PDAs like hand holding and maybe a kiss". When I said NO GROPING in case his little sister happened to see them he responded as though he was shocked I would think such a thing. Here's hoping that he has really been trying to get a rise out of me and he really will be reining in the hormones.

M&N, yes, they shoot the dove. It's a big Texas thing. My boys do participate but they do it as a sport AND for the meat not JUST the sport. DH actually cooks dove for our Thanksgiving dinner. It also happens to be one of the few things my DS enjoys to do with DH. Male bonding, ya know?

I wasn't knocking the shooting. I just never heard of it. I think they had a pigeon shoot somewhere in PA that got people upset. My dad fished...what's the difference? The animal becomes someone's dinner. Not to upset you pet lovers...there is a difference.
There's a big chair in Thomasville NC where they make furniture. Turkey Hill Dairys have big cows they put in front of their stores for special events. Things like that do attract attention. I just saw a huge blow-up Matag repairman.

Tuesday August 4 Inverness

I had breakfast alone with my newspaper--at least it was better company than yesterday! I saw how they cooked the fried eggs, and doubt I will have another one. They basically deep fry them! :scared1: There were about 6 or 7 eggs sitting in a pan of oil, just bubbling away! The guy took them out, blotted them with a napkin, and served them. Hmmmmm…

I think I must be traveling with a bunch of Republicans. My seat today was all the way at the back of the bus, and some of the guys were making jokes about feeling like Rosa Parks. One said, “If Obama has his way, we’ll be on a skateboard tied to the back of the bus!”:rotfl2:

Our first stop, much to my surprise, was the budding metropolis of Achnasheen! Last year I said the population was 35 if you included the sheep. Karen told us the actual population is 28! We were the first of 3 motor coaches to arrive, more than quadrupling the population of the town! I took a picture of the same railroad station sign I photographed last year. I noticed that the town phone box is still there next to one of the few houses.

From there we drove through the moors. Karen told us how to clear sheep off the road if they are blocking the way--roll down the windows and call out “Mint Sauce!!” :lmao: We again made several photo stops, the first being up overlooking Lake Maree. There was a ladder you could use to climb over the fence there. We finally saw some blooming heather! Along the way we got a lesson in sheep farming. Sounds way too complicated. Next we stopped in Gairloch, which has a beautiful beach, and a view of the Isle of Skye. It was warm and sunny, and I was glad I was wearing a short sleeved shirt.

Our next stop was the village of Poolewe, where we had lunch at the local hotel. The food was outstanding. I had tomato & basil soup, Prawn Rose Marie sandwich (which was basically like shrimp salad, but the sauce was different from mayonnaise.), and Hot Chocolate Fudge cake, which was absolutely sinful.

Fortunately, we went from there to Inverewe Gardens, where we walked around and did some hill climbing. The gardens were beautiful, with all sorts of exotic plants from all over the world. There was a Walled Garden with wonderful flowers, and a really cool Turkey Maple tree, which was grafted from another tree and brought there to the garden. It is now enormous. In 2005 they were hit by a hurricane with 120 mph winds, which tore down 5 of their biggest trees and caused a lot of damage. They are slowly replanting, and some of the new trees are really nice.

We drove along past Loch Ewe. There is an island in the middle of it, called (what else?) Isle of Ewe. (say that really fast…) We stopped at the “secret” NATO base--there is actually a sign in front of it that says NATO Loch Ewe, No Entry. Not so secret. :confused3 We also saw the spot where nuclear subs come in off the sea, which is a place that was important for the defense of northern Scotland during WWII. We also passed some salmon farms, and stopped to take photos above Loch Bloom. We were listening to a CD of Scottish folk music, which sounded very much like the stuff Mom and Dad used to play when I was growing up! I was getting a bit queasy in the back of the bus, so I tried napping a bit but without much success. I was quite relieved to get back to the hotel and relax for awhile.

I headed down for dinner at 6:30 and got a table for one. Just me and my Kindle. I was feeling a bit lonely, everyone else seemed to be having such a good time. At the table next to me were Alice Ann & Dick, Peter & Peg, and Brad & Linda. Alice Ann saw me alone and said “come over and join us, don’t sit alone!” Dick helped me move my little table over with theirs. I felt so good! We had lively conversation, and the company was great. I had tomato and farmer cheese salad, which was good, filet of beef with Bernaise sauce, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. I couldn’t finish everything, it was just too much.

After dinner we had a presentation on tartans and kilts. It was not only interesting, but quite funny. The woman presenting it was great fun. She got Jess to dress up in the whole outfit, plaid, sporran, weaponry, etc. He was such a good sport! We all got some great photos, and I told him he’d be up on Facebook by next week! Back in my room, I packed everything up to leave tomorrow. I don’t know if it was the salad (which I have basically avoided the entire trip) or just too much rich food, but everything came back up, leaving me feeling MUCH better.

We didn't shower until 7th grade but then we were in elem for 6th grade---back in the dark ages. :rotfl: We did change for gym though. We had a uniform. I can remember that 1 piece blue uniform. I was chubby and it didn't look good!

I wouldn't mind him changing clothes for gym, but the shower thing seems like it should wait for high school.

I must fully disclose that I never showered after gym in high school. I did change into gym clothes, but since my gym class was usually the second to last class, it wasn't worth it. Then again, I hardly broke a sweat during gym....it was a horrible experience!

Marie, I am one of those bowlers who either gets a gutter ball or a strike. Nothing in between. I also have a wicked curve, I practically have to approach the line from another lane! There's this great place in the Valley outside of Los Angeles that is a diner AND a bowling alley. It was awesome! I bowled with a high school guy friend that I hadn't seen in years--and he was so astounded by my bowling ability. I trounced him!

Marie, please tell me more about the doves. How is it cooked? Is a dove a one-person dish, kinda like a cornish hen? I'm not being snarky about this, I find it very interesting. Deer season is huge around here, and I've had my share of going to deer camp and various deer dishes. Hunting may not be for everyone, but I'm not going judge. Of course, I'm used to my chicken coming in styrofoam and saran wrap from the store, but in the Phils, let's just say our chickens are SUPER fresh.....

Wendy, your trip sounds like a dream! Sorry that your last dinner didn't sit too well with you. It sounded yummy to me....

I saw the world's largest guitar while driving through Tennessee. It was fantastic. I love kitschy things like that.

Evening!!! Curt left to go back to Kentucky this morning. We are hoping for another 2 weeks again but if they get a lot of rain there, it might be 3 weeks or more. We did have a nice day yesterday. Curt and I went out to dinner by ourselves. It's been a long, long time since we've done that. When we got back, he took the kids to the movies. They went to see G-Force in 3D. They said it was ok but nothing spectacular.

Marie, loved your trip report and pics. :goodvibes I actually come from a family of bowlers. I'm talking multiple bowling leagues, you buy them gift certificates to the local bowling supply store for holidays, the whole works. Heck, my dad and brother go to national tournaments every year. 3 years ago it was in Corpus Christi.

D&D, showers are available in our middle schools (grades 6-8) but DD says nobody uses them. I do remember in high school nobody ever really used them either except after swimming class because the only way to get to the locker room was to run through the showers.

Wendy, I can't wait to see pictures from your trip.

MK, besides bowling, hunting and fishing are the other 2 big things in my family. Curt does both as do most of the men in my family. I've eaten deer meat along with freshly caught fish that Curt had to clean. My late grandfather use to hunt small game. Pheasant, squirrel and rabbit. And he did eat everything that he hunted. I also have family in Arizona who eat rattlesnake. :scared1:

M&N, see I just need to avoid picking Kyle. He didn't finish too bad after hitting the wall or whatever he did. And I was hoping they would have talked to Jr. He was running in the top ten one moment and then he was getting passed left and right. And they never gave an explanation about what happened.

Wendy---It's great that they have those stops for pics. Some bus trips I have been on just zoomed by things. I've heard about the Isle of Skye. Maybe from reading gothic romance novels! Post the heather pic when you get home. It just sounds so lovely. Glad you are learning new things.

Racer---I was thinking about your dh...Lots of rain-flooding actually-in Liuisville and other places. Hope it's ok where he is. I haven't checked Jayski for news.

I think HK is on tonight? I have to go and call mom and check the tv. Later...
