TKers Take the Fifth!

Good morning everyone! Phew! I just go it in on time!

Racetrack...what were you doing up so late??? You really are in a pickle, but at least SIL is talking about it. It means she cares and wants help to make the best decision for both her and her family. It sounds like both DB and SIL need to sit down and talk, not fight. I know its really hard for you and you've been put in awkward position, but SIL turned to you because she trusts you and your judgement. Encourage them to really assess where they are and let them know that you're supporting them.

D&D...I am so not ready too. I'm still working on my shopping list (going to grocery tomorrow), but in terms of packing for myself, haven't even gotten the bag out yet! Still trying to iron out the best schedule...it seems that I'm leaving earlier and earlier on Saturday morning! There's so much I want to see! M&N send me this brochure on caverns near Harrisburg that I really want to do....

Thanks for all the support re: Millionaire! Its actually filming for the 10th Anniversary of show, it'll be on at night with Regis. I really started to panic last night about it. My big issue right now is my phone friends. Will some of you volunteer? I especially need people who are strong in history, tech, and sports. I feel pretty confident about pop culture, geography, and science. Gulp! I have to cram now....

DL55...coyotes?! How scary but how beautiful those creatures are. In hindsite, I realize I should have been more afraid of tiger when I held him earlier this year. But animals are so amazing. I just love them.

So much to be talked about---probably won't hit it all but---

Camera: I just bought a Canon Powershot A1100IS. It's a super easy one to use. I like that it has a viewer that you can look through as well as the 2.5 screen I find it hard to look at just the screen when the sun is so bright. It's 12.1mp. They still have the 10.1 but for $50 more I went for it. I got it at Best Buys for 199.99. I haven't gotten any developed from it yet though. Considering I'm coming from a Sony 3.2 camera, I'm expecting greatness!

Please save the stuffed animals until ds can decide. I still hold it against mom for getting rid of mine---I really do tease her for throwing Ozzie away but he had a cracked face and was bad off. I still have the black and white photo of him out in the snow covered yard right before he was trashed.

:yay: We know an almost Millionaire! And I would not let him off too easy...

I didn't go to the site yet, but do you need anything special to download their books?

:scared1: Never seen Gone With the Wind? Racer---I cannot believe it! Anyone else not seen this classic?

Whrrn: I think you are going to need PP for a little energy after your day.

Racer-I think you are in the middle whether you like it or not. Just be truthful to both. Give both your opinion-the good and the bad. That's the way friends should be-honest.

D&D---Take a deep breath----relax---think chocolate---deep breath---relax---think TKers! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Kerrie---Thanks for 'finding' us. I wasn't here to talk to myself and no one must have been crazy enough to either!

Coyote!!! I would be more than a little nervous about that thing following me. I don't even like strange dogs!

The stars are aligning in our favor! just found this....

https://e.coach.com/servlet/website...e.2ey.26zzEqLMMCTZ***RHohhDJhtEikpgmwHnLEmkNL

20% coupon off already reduced prices at the Coach outlet! Woo-hoo!

There are lots of books to choose on the Harlequin site. Choose the book you're interested in and they ask you what format you want to use. They also have a tutorial if you don't have the right software so you can get the books. It seems really user friendly, but I have to figure it out for myself sometime soon. The offer is good until the end of October, so I have until then to figure it out!

I still love my stuffed animals too. I have pared them down as I've gotten older, but I really have such fondness for dolls and toys still. Most of my stuffed toys are Hello Kitty. In fact, the first weekend in August I'm going to another doll event with my friend, and we're going to a charity luncheon in November. I've just never outgrew dolls---I just collect more special pieces!

Actually, two of them are from Gone with the Wind: I have Scarlett and Melanie. Looking to save up for Ashely and Rhett so I can have a scandal in my house!

I also have not see Gone with the Wind.

Shocking I know, but I have not seen many of the classics.

This has just been the most exciting day so far...
I just received a FD PIN code for Dec. during DH & my b-day. Which means I could get away with only buying the kids tickets cuz DH and I will be free one day. Will have to call and price out a mini vacation if possible. I can't believe it. I NEVER get a PIN code let alone FD. :yay::yay::yay:
Anything else to add to my :hyper:

Congrats D&D! that's awesome. Looking like a fantastic day for TKers!

I think we should all buy some lottery tickets. Seems to be in the air or something.

Ok, EVERYONE needs to watch Gone with the Wind. When you are, keep in mind that it was made in 1939, the golden age of Hollywood cinema. Try to imagine how elaborate all the scenery was for the time, and how Butterfly McQueen went on to win an Oscar for her role--a black woman in Hollywood! It really is a sweeping, amazing story and a reflection of the Civil War from the Southern point of view. And of course, there's the romance and the yumminess of Rhett Butler! And Vivian Leigh is really a Brit and only came to Hollywood following her lover Laurence Olivier--and they were both married to other people at the time! The scandal! But she was perfect and it really is a life changing movie.

MagiKitty Congratulations! I wish I could help but I just freeze up when under pressure. :guilty:
Shmu Kids conversation was funny. I knew what he meant, maybe because I never expect to see money on the ground.
racetrack18kb What a tough position to be in. Just try to stay neutral.
I was surprised by the coyote but kept looking back. That's how I knew he was following. He never got too close. My great protector dog never knew he was back there. Poor old, deaf dog. :sad2: Usually we only have problems with everyone else's dogs as no one believes in leash laws. :headache:

Hey Guys!:flower3: :wave2: missed ya'll hope everyone is good.:goodvibes

I haven't logged in in awhile. I have been keeping up on FB :3dglassesbut, I thought today I would check in.

Thanks for 'missin' me.
I see everyone getting ready for trips. We cancelled our Disney for the summer so it's been kinda boring around here.

I have been sick since just before school let out. I am NEVER sick but I can't seem to get over one thing before I have another. *kinda worried* one respiratory infection after another. Very High fevers 103-104. you get the idea.

DD has been so very good taking care of me and understanding that I don't feel well.
She has done all her summer reading and the projects that go with them. She has done the research for her Science Fair project for next year.

I wanted to do something special for her.
I did something Krazy last night. DD has wanted to see Little Mermaid since it first came to Broadway. I thought it would be a passing fancy but, it hasn't. She came down yesterday morning very upset because it will go dark on August 30th.
She was out with friends yesterday and I did research on the computer.

Well, I got on Travelocity and booked a NYC weekend for me, DM and DD the first week in August.(7th-10th) I got her tickets (5th row center) for the show.
When I gave her the printouts last night I think she about bounced out of her skin.
I got a good deal....We're flying Jet Blue into JFK and staying at the Belvedere Hotel.
DH can't go due to his work schedule but was more than happy that I planned this trip.

I've only been to NYC for a day(to take DD to Radio City Christmas) when DH was living/working in NJ that was 6 years ago.So, for all my buddies up there, I may have to bend your ears on ideas, weather info, what to wear etc.

The votes are in! I tabulated how many votes each got for each color. Now all we need to do is wait for the colorful heads to be revealed!
Thanks to Racer's family for the entertainment provided to our special TKer family.

You can draw your own conclusions, but it seems to me the teens were the hardest to predict!

Hi Bopsmom. What a wonderful surprise for your DD. :lovestruc

M&N Teenagers are always hard to predict. :lmao:

 Bopsmom! We've missed you! So sorry to hear that you're STILL sick. Goodness. DD sounds like an angel, how wonderful for you to have a weekend in NYC!

All I have to say is that its HOT. But since you're coming from HOT anyway, it should be fine for you. People of all sorts go to Broadway shows, you wear what you feel is comfortable. But dressing up for dinner and a show may be a wonderful thing for a young lady....don't forget to take tons of pictures!

OMG! The Shack is answer on Millionaire RIGHT NOW! Its totally a a sign!

Afternoon!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was up so late because SIL was here. I did talk to my brother a bit last night and he's already talking lawyer. If they do split, I know it's going to be a dirty fight. They are both too self-centered to see what it might do their kid.

Bopsmom, hey, nice to see ya!!! The trip to NYC sounds wonderful.

D&D, how great you got a pin code. I got one 2 weeks ago or so. Can't use it of course though it is tempting.

Shmu, loved the story about the bucks. All my kids would have thought of deer first. Every time we drive past an open field, DH looks for deer to point out to the kids.

Ok, I'm a nice person. Truly, I try to be. But I just do not play well with boys.

First, I seriously considered bodily harm to Edward. Then BF and I got into a pretty bad tiff. And now my other friend and I are at it.

We've been friends for over 10 years now. He's coming off a nasty 24 hour shift and was complaining about it. I told him he needs to shower, eat, and go to sleep. He needs to reset his body clock or else he'll be messed up. While I suspect its the lack of sleep and crankiness, he said some pretty mean things back at me. I was only trying to take care of him and be kind and he thinks I'm trying to mother him? Boo! Hiss!

I have some hurt feelings right now. I'm going to pull a Katie Scarlett O'Hara and just think about it tomorrow. "After all, tomorrow is another day!" ;)

But boy, is he a mean-head. :sad2:

 Bopsmom!! So sorry you are still sick. I hope you are all better in time for your trip to NYC! what a sweet thing to do for DD.

MK, men are just clueless. They refuse to acknowledge the fact that we know best. Chalk it up to that missing stub on the Y chromosome...

racetrack
I'm sorry you got stuck in the middle with your DB and SIL. That's a really hard place to be.

D&D, congrats on the code! Sounds like a trip to plan!

OK, I decided to do what y'all say and I will put the extra animals in a bag until DS gets home. If he seems to forget about them, they are history, but if he asks for them, I will make him choose just a few. Thanks for all the input!

Today I: went to the gym, the grocery store, the post office (twice), the bank, the organic farm stand, and WalMart. I also cleaned my kitchen--cleaned out the fridge and freezer, and got rid of all the extraneous junk sitting in baskets and on the counter. It looks so much nicer. Patty is still just sitting there, but she has moved fromm a basket to a bowl. She is still not calling my name.

Oh yeah, and I also helped my neighbor break into her house! She locked herself out when she went to cut the grass, and all the windows were locked except the one upstairs over the garage. So, she piled 2 lawn chairs on top of the lawn mover, which was next to the garage, topped that with a few cushions, and hoisted herself up onto the garage roof. I threw the cushions up to her so she could reach the bedroom window, and in she went. She said 'I wish I'd worked out more'.:lmao: I should mention that she is 17 and skinny as a rail. at least now I have something to write to the kids about!

Tonite for dinner I am having filet mignon and fresh NJ white corn. YUMMY!!!

I have not even started thinking about what to pack for the weekend. Other than the s'mores stuff. I will buy rolls and cheese on Friday, and get the burgers on my way out on Saturday. What is everyone planning on wearing at the park? Just shorts and Tshirts? I can't do the waterpark, so i won't bother bringing my bathing suit. But you can bet my camera is all charged up!

Only 4 more days!

I said it before and I'll say it again:
2.gif
MEN! Look at it this way---they won't have you to be mean to next weekend! :yay:

Bopsmom: Thanks for checking in. The trip will be special...glad it worked out. Now you get better!

Whgrn---the waterpark is fun to just watch too. I wear capris. (fat knees!) Better take sunscreen---maybe a hat. I wear sneakers because they are more comfy for me.

I'm wearing board shorts (I think) or just some really long shorts. I wear a swimtop underneath a tee, just in case I do get wet---don't want to give anyone a scare under there!

Wearing sneakers too (although I may bring my Crocs just to get a giggle out of D&D)

Wendy, did you hum the "Mission Impossible" theme while you were breaking in?

Well, I am going outlet shopping with a friend tomorrow, and one place I absolutely want to check out is the Crocs outlet. If they have the new maryjanes and they are comfy and stylish, I may just get a pair and wear them this weekend. Otherwise I will wear something comfortable for walking.

Shorts or capris? Depends on weather. If it's gonna be hot, I'm putting my chubby legs into shorts. Cooler and it will be capris. It's all about comfort here!

Patty has gone to sleep in her bowl. I did enjoy my nightly Hershey Kiss though. Hmmm, do ya think I'll need to bring some of those to Hershey??:lmao:

I am so looking forward to this weekend. I haven't done a darn thing to get ready though.

Things were pretty crappy here today. I spent most of my day on the phone with SIL. Sounds like my brother has his mind made up about a divorce. If they follow through, I predict it's gong to get very nasty. I feel really bad for my nephew. He's going to suffer the most and they will be too blind to see it.

Then my stepmom had to go see her cancer doctor yesterday. Now they tell her that they not sure what kind of cancer she has. And they also found cancer cells in her bone marrow. She's freaking out and asked me to research the two possible types she might have. My dad has already done it but she wants even more reassurance.

Uuuugggghhhh, can things get any worse?

Not sure what I'm going to wear this weekend except for all my brand new Kyle Busch shirts. :lmao: I won't be going swimming. There are lockers in the waterpark section if anyone decides they want to swim. I'll wear sneakers but might have my kids bring their crocs along too. :rolleyes1

We've locked ourselves out of the house before and had to climb into a second story window. Or actually, DH did. And thankfully, he had a ladder on his work truck....no piling lawn furniture for us.
