Oh, Shmu, I'm sorry about your vacation! We've been in tough positions like that, too. Wonderful news about college, though! I was about a year away from graduating when I got preggers with oldest DD. Hopefully, I'll be able to return one day. (and keep all those credits, too)
I just missed you last night I guess. Thanks. I stopped classes after I delivered DS. Always knew I would go back. Have tried in the past. Never the right time. This time it's flowing like clock work.

I knew I should have come on last night!
I missed Shmu. I am just so happy for her going back to college to be a teacher. She really wanted to be able to do that. If Disney does not work out this year, I'm sure you'll be able to make great memories wherever you are. Being with family is the important thing.
I'm here again M&N:hippie:Thanks about the college. I am very excited. I was born to teach. It's in my blood. Your right about the family thing and vacation.

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip and about DH not getting paid. Some people are just awful!! How exciting to be going back to college tho!!
Yea. Bummer. Leaving it in God's hands.
Yep, can't wait to hit the books.:teacher:

Shmu! Congrats on going back to school! Sorry that the trip may be on hiatus...I'll be crossing my fingers for you! I did read on the budget board though that a bunch of new pin codes have gone out, offering free dining in November...maybe you'll still be able to get some of that magic. But even if you don't make it down to Orlando, you'll still have a wonderful time whereever you are with your wonderful family.
Thanks. :hug:Thanks about the pin code info. I did tell DH maybe we could just postpone until Nov. or Dec. I have always wanted to see the decorations. I remember they did free dining last year around that time. Glad they are doing it again.

Oh, and don't even get me started on Letterman.

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip getting canceled. Sometimes things just happen for a reason. Or better yet, maybe it will all work out. In any case, it was wonderful that your dad offered you the lake house. Maybe a trip there will help to make up for it if you don't get to go.
People can be pretty inconsiderate when they owe you money. They never stop to think that you might be counting on it.
That is wonderful news about getting to start college at the Junior level. Good luck!
Thanks. I am very thankful for my dad. It could actually be a very nice vacation.
Still can't believe I get to start as a junior.:cool1:

DSCN0892.jpg
Love this pic. You are so beautiful.

Shmu...sorry about the vacation but that's great news about school.
Thanks.

Sorry about your vacation. What a bummer!
Very happy for you to be finishing school. I did the same thing about 10 years ago. Went back part-time for elementary education. Was the best thing I ever did. :thumbsup2 Congrats Mrs. Shmu!
If people would just pay.
Thanks.:hug:Oh and CONGRATULATIONS on your new job. Very exciting.

Shmu Sorry about the deadbeat problem. But getting all your credits applied really helps getting your degree faster. :thumbsup2
Thanks.
I'll also be saving a lot of money by starting as a junior.:thumbsup2

racetrak Loved seeing your pics again. Saw them also on facebook. Helps me to take a mini mind vacation.

And about the whole weight loss fat thing?????? Wow, talk about desperate advertising ideas.

Has anyone seen the Disney movie UP?

DS works at a movie theater so we get to see free movies. (We have jokingly told him he can never quit this job.:rotfl:)

Anyway, we saw the movie the other night.
WOW, it was a precious love story. DH and I cried. (Well, I cried and he just talked about how sweet it was and it reminded him of us.) I highly recommend it.

whgrn: My mom's comment about Letterman was about how long he waited until he married the mother of his kid---people who love in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! I saw Atlantis from a distance but read it's wonderful. I thought mommy always has extra for that massage! (insert massaged smilie) Is the cruise brochure under the pillow?

D&DDisney: YEAH! The job sounds like it was made for you. Those kinds of kids need a caring person like you. :woohoo:

Racer: Loved the 'little hussy on the gps' sentence! :rotfl2: She thinks she's perfect too.

I guess to add a little bit to the fat discussion---I am. I really don't want to be. A long time ago I got down to what WW wanted and held it for 2 weeks maybe. It didn't make me happier to be the 'right' weight. It didn't solve the world's problems. I think there are just a lot of unhappy people in this world that get their kicks out of putting others down--whether it be about their size, skin color, or what kind of shoes they have on (couldn't resist that crocy example). I am trying to eat healthier and exercise---the weight hasn't started dropping off yet but I'm trying. I guess that's one reason I go to the fitness center at the retirement center in town. They are not judgemental. OK--I'll hop off my box now.

Hey Shmu! Sometimes mini mind vacations are fun.

My DH is thinking of going back to school in a few years. Once we are on our feet in Florida. He does commercial roofing right now and it's just getting too hard on the body. He kept saying roofing is all he knows since he's pretty much done that since he was a kid. I found him a couple of trade schools to look into and hopefully he runs with it.

Haven't seen it. We most likely won't get to see it till it's on DVD. But just what I need, a movie to cry in. I'll have to watch it by myself.

We are actually waiting for the new Transformers to come out. Have to see the hometown on the big screen.

Hi M&N:hippie:

You are right about people just being judgmental and stuff. I think it's because they feel so insecure themselves. I LOVE retirement homes. Spent a lot of time there when my grandmother was still alive.

Racer...I understand the whole "hard on the body thing" with your husband being a roofer. DH is and electrician. We have had stages in our business where he doesn't do the physical work, but with the economy the way it is, we are down to just him. I hate seeing him have to work so physically hard. Hoping when I get a full time teaching job in a few years he can start to cut back on how much he works. I'll just be his "sugar momma" for a while. :rotfl2:

I knew I should have come on last night!
I missed Shmu. I am just so happy for her going back to college to be a teacher. She really wanted to be able to do that. If Disney does not work out this year, I'm sure you'll be able to make great memories wherever you are. Being with family is the important thing.
SCHBR'smom---did someone explain that those strange people in the pics were the famous Flat TKers? I forget who made us, Racer maybe. If you want to go along with us like that, we'll figure out who made us and get you in the group.
LITC: The pics were just so creative...and funny! It was a great job. I just love my shirt! Putting us in with the animals was very clever. The pic of you and DH was wonderful. Now you have a great pic to show little castle of you two having a great visit to Disney and promise to go back when he/she can enjoy the magic.
Racer---did you get bad storm yesterday? Saw Allentown did.

Have a great day---I'm going to Hershey Park. Don't feel like rides but haven't seen the shows and I need to do a report on them!

M&N I am so glad everyone seems to be enjoying the pics! I was worried since I only carried thiem with me to one park-I figured better that way less chance of damaging them that way!

MK, are you still with us, or did you blow away in the storms last night? A town in north Jersey had pingpong ball sized hail, and lots of it!:scared1:

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip and about DH not getting paid. Some people are just awful!! How exciting to be going back to college tho!!

LITC, the pix are awesome! I will have to do some like that in Scotland. I hope you are all getting reaady to go "across the pond"!!

Racetrack, we are looking at a cruise over Easter next year (the week before Easter actually), and we stop in Port Canaveral one day, with Universal as an option. So it would be like the last Monday in March, one day, one park (US rather than IOA) US charges $45 for the express pass during peak times, and the boat charges us $50 extra for the express pass. For $5, I'd go through the boat for less hassle. But is it worth the extra $50 and do we need it at that time? I would think it will be pretty busy the week before Easter.

I read DD all your comments about her medals and swimming and she was just beaming. So, from DD,:hug::)

OK, I need dinner ideas for tonite. I have not a thought in my head! Any suggestions? Quick and easy works for me. We had pasta last night, so thats out...

Hey Wendy-your daughter deserves it. She should be proud of herself. I can't wait to see us in Scotland! That is going to be awesome!

Good morning everyone! Its cloudy out and chilly for June. This month has been so unpredictable so far...

Hi Wendy! Yes, I'm here. I'm more of a day poster, though, so sorry I missed all the fun last night! If you're planning to hit any of the parks during Easter break, I'd totally go for the FOTL pass. It'll be busy and since you only have one day, I'd make the most of it!

LITC...you did such a great job of touring us around with you! Thanks so much for making me shop....you know me so well, don't you? And pooh on you for thinking you don't look gorgeous and radiant in that wonderful pic of you and DH (please say hello for me!). You look absolutely beautiful.

Ok...small vent. Not really as mad as I was last night. BF and I totally got into a row about the Letterman/Palin situation. (And I'm a Letterman fan ordinarily). BF was all about freedom of speech and how it was just a joke. I thought it was in poor taste and a low point for a comedian to entertain at the expense of a young woman. We won't really see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, esp. political ones, but boy was I angry last night! Not so mad now, but I hate it when he's dismissive of my viewpoint because its the polar opposite of his. I'm trying to let it go, but when he's finished "discussing" something, even if I'm not, its over and he doesn't want to talk about it. I didn't think that was fair. Its not that I WANT to fight with him, but I think NEVER FIGHTING isn't healthy or being honest. Ok, vent over. Thank you very much.

We didn't get any of the hail yesterday, thank goodness. But I did see some coverage on the news and that is just crazy! I guess I can't complain that my beautiful laundry on the line got wet with the afternoon showers. At least it wasn't hail!

Have fun for us at Hershey M&N! The more I read about the area, the more I realize there's so much I want to do! Does anyone know where Laureldale is? There's a doll store there that I've read about...

Have a good day everyone!

Oh, I had spaghetti last night! I'm craving fish for some reason, so I think that's on my menu tonight. All that is subject to change, though!

Thanks for the wonderful compliments Kitty! "pooh" on me, does that mean you think I am "pooh" sized? JOKING!!! So funny! And by the way DH says hello back!

I never minded Letterman to much before, but what an idiot. People are saying that this may negatively affect his career.

M&N, thank you! I feel so enlightened! I have heard mention of the Flat Tkers but never had a clue. Then when LivinInTheCastle posted the pics I just thought she had a unique way of taking pictures. So good to finally understand what's going on around here! And now those pictures make so much more sense to me. Now if I could just put the names with every face! I have been hanging around here awhile but I've yet to see photos of everyone.

LivinInTheCastle, you look beautiful in the picture! And your little tummy is so cute!

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip getting canceled. Sometimes things just happen for a reason. Or better yet, maybe it will all work out. In any case, it was wonderful that your dad offered you the lake house. Maybe a trip there will help to make up for it if you don't get to go.

That is wonderful news about getting to start college at the Junior level. Good luck!

MagiKitty, I am so out of touch that I really don't know about the Letterman/Palin thing but I can feel for you in general principal. I have 2 men in my house that cut me off when they are done making their point. Like you, I don't particularly like the argument but it is completely insensitive to not listen to the rest of what a person has to say. It happens here all the time and makes me hopping mad!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Marie- glad you now know what the flat TKers are. I'm sure most people will point out which ones they are. You know Kitty, and me. Wendy was on I think Sunset Blvd kinda in the air in front of the Hat, and Race was in the toys with Kitty--that is just going off of memory- I;ll have to look back at them to remember more!

Just a quick fly by post. I'm off to the school for the volunteer appreciation assembly...there'll be cake :woohoo:

Shmu...sorry about the vacation but that's great news about school.

Did people not think you were a little weird putting our pictures in all those places??:rotfl:

Can't remember what else I wanted to comment on...oh oh my ride is pulling in the drive...gotta go.

Hey Ev, yes I got several weird looks, especially since everywhere I held them up my DH wanted to take more than one shot to be sure he got it, so I would be holding them up for a few minutes at a time, oh well, they aren't a TKer so they could never understand!

Is there some meaning behind the posters I'm pictured with?? :rotfl2:

Sorry about your vacation. What a bummer!
Very happy for you to be finishing school. I did the same thing about 10 years ago. Went back part-time for elementary education. Was the best thing I ever did. :thumbsup2 Congrats Mrs. Shmu!

Have a great time! Can't wait to hear the reviews on the shows.

Kitty - I'm right there with you on the Letterman thing. That was totally shameful and in very poor taste to say that about a 14 yr old girl - or any woman for that matter. I just hate when people make these sexist comments about women. Now I'm not a big SaraH Palin supporter nor a right winger but I am fully behind her now as she has brought sexism back to the front. Why is that the only "ism" that still okay to be be? And anyone who says those things about her or women in general and then says that they are not sexist is a total LYER.
6.gif

I'll get off my soapbox now.

LivinInTheCastle You look great. Besides you have a reason for having a belly, the rest of us don't. :guilty:
Shmu Sorry about the deadbeat problem. But getting all your credits applied really helps getting your degree faster. :thumbsup2
racetrack18kb Those pictures make me want to go now. :goodvibes

No comment re Letterman/ Palin..don't pay attention to what Letterman has to say. :confused3

Hey D&D, LOL no-no meaning behind them. It was really just when I saw a place to take a pic, whomever came out of the bagp-your number was up!

I totally hear you on the "fat-ism" thing. I can't believe how acceptable it is to make fun of overweight people. And the whole media emphasis that you are only "desirable" if you are tall and skinny really p****s me off as a mom of 3 girls. I actually don't have a scale here right now. DD is 13 and I do not want her to be focused on her weight.

Would you believe that this past February, DH got a letter in the mail from some weight loss center. I opened it just to see what it was. Inside, it stated, wouldn't your wife be so happy if you signed her up for this as a Valentines Day present. :scared1::headache: What the h**l?! If my DH had actually thought that would be a good gift, I would have kicked his a** clear across the city.

I dont get the whole weight thing. Why cant we worry about if someone is a thief, murderer, cheat, etc compared to a good person instead of what they weigh???????????????????

Just got a call with a job offer for fall!!! :woohoo:

I finalize the deal on Thurs. and will get more details. I will be a Learning Resource Consultant 2 days per week...aka working with children w/ learning and behavior disabilities. Just had to share. :yay::hyper2:

D&D--congrats! That is awesome! That sounds like something I would love to do. Maybe if I ever pull it together I will put more time and effort into working with special needs kids.

SCHBR'smom...I forgot to tell you how much I love the picture of your family on the couch. Your DD--I guess DD2--is crossing her arms in the most "don't mess with me" way. Its so cute! :lovestruc

D&D...just to add to your wonderful day, thought I'd add that I received my Crocs order today. Yes! I have 4 new pairs to show you! I know you'd love that! :rotfl:

Kitty--I gotta say I love my crocs! They are awesome now that I am pregnant and carrying this extra weight!

Haven't seen it. We most likely won't get to see it till it's on DVD. But just what I need, a movie to cry in. I'll have to watch it by myself.

We are actually waiting for the new Transformers to come out. Have to see the hometown on the big screen.
Have tissues. It is very funny also. Just a great movie IMO.

DS said that here the Transformers has already sold out for opening night and they are opening up a 3 AM showing. He is very glad he does not have to work that night.

OK, I'm going to try to keep up a little.......

Thanks. DD2 is all attitude. She's my little pot stirrer, and boy does she stir the pot! She can be a lot of fun as well as infuriating. It's a good thing she's so cute.

Has anyone seen the Disney movie UP?

I haven't seen it, but I really want to. It's hard to go to the movies with so many little kids. The older ones are fine, but its hard for the little two to sit there so long.
You and your DH sound sweet. :lovestruc

About weight, personally, I don't care. You need to be happy in your own skin! Wouldn't life be boring if everyone was the same? As long as you are healthy and happy, the number on the scale is irrelevant, IMO.

I plan on finishing school as soon as my kids are all in school. I know how it is for your DH. My DH has a job that's rough on his body, also. In fact, he missed 7 weeks of work during the holiday season (unpaid) for emergency back surgery. Did I mention that that is also when the baby was due? It was the craziest Christmas I remember. Thankfully, it all worked out! My DH is trying to start his own business to get away from the current employer. Fingers crossed.
I hope it all works out well for your DH!

Good evening TKers!

Just a quick stop by to say
hello.gif

You have all been very busy on here lately.

Shmu:
Thanks. :hug:Thanks about the pin code info. I did tell DH maybe we could just postpone until Nov. or Dec. I have always wanted to see the decorations. I remember they did free dining last year around that time. Glad they are doing it again.
You have to go Nov 29th -Dec 5th so we can meet!

to DL55, Magikitty, racetrack, M&N, SCHBR'smom, LITC, whgrn, BKMETV, pepper, mariezp and anyone else I forgot!

Kids have 3 and 1/2 more days of school and I have 2. Tomorrow I am going on a field trip with DS11 to the Christa McAuliffe-Alan Shepard Discovery Center. The Discovery center is named after Christa who was a teacher from NH on the space shuttle Challenger and Alan Shepard was an astronaut from NH. It's a great place that teaches children all kinds of stuff about space.

Have a good night!

LITC, is D&D taking the tkers to Hershey? With vacation, I lost track of what was going on with us.

SCHBR'smom, the only reason DH is sticking with the roofing for now is because his current company is setting up a new office where we want to move to. And they want him down there. Otherwise, I'd be pushing him to go back to school now. I always worry about something happening to him since I am a SAHM. We have savings but losing that paycheck would be stressful to say the least. I'm so glad all worked out for your holidays. And I'll keep my fingers crossed for you DH.

Shmu, we are hoping that Transformers opens right down the street at the little theater. They hardly ever sell out there even when all the other theaters do.

M&N, if you're still here, what did you do at Hershey today?

I haven't seen it, but I really want to. It's hard to go to the movies with so many little kids. The older ones are fine, but its hard for the little two to sit there so long.
You and your DH sound sweet. :lovestruc
I do remember that stage. Mine are 20 and 17 now. Whole different stage of life.
Thanks about the sweet comment. I have known him since I was 14. Started dating when I was 17. Married at 19. Never regretted it for a day. He is my best friend.

We started our own business (electrical contracting) back in 2003. Tired of being layed off from other employers. Figured we wouldn't fire our self. :rotfl2:
If you need any info just PM me and we can talk via email. We aren't experts but have been down the road of what to do and what not to do.

That would be great. I'll keep ya posted on what happens.

That's good. We live in a busy suburb.

Ya know, I just realized, I never sent anyone a pic so I could be a Flat TKer. I made those little guys back when MagicKitty and I met last year. Didn't make one of me because I was there. Who gets them next? I'll see about getting one made. I still have the stuff.

Shmu, DH and I met when I was 14, he was 15, starting dating right after I turned 15 (he was still 15). When we got married, I was 19, he was 20. We've been married 11 years now. I couldn't imagine life without him.

I'm glad to know there's someone I can ask for advice from. Thanks!

M&N I am so glad everyone seems to be enjoying the pics! I was worried since I only carried thiem with me to one park-I figured better that way less chance of damaging them that way!

Kitty--I gotta say I love my crocs! They are awesome now that I am pregnant and carrying this extra weight!

Thanks for not tiring us out too much. You know us Flat TKers need extra rest. Real scientific way of posing us! I'm glad your DH took his job so seriously. He did a great job---thank him for us.
I am the one holding Pal Mickey.
Just so you don't put crocs on the baby! ;)

Shmu---or should I say Mrs. "Sugar Momma" Shmu? :rotfl:

Pikester's going to be spaced out tomorrow! Have fun!

:lovestruc Aww, you guys are just making me tear up. There's just so much love and support going on right now and its so beautiful to be part of it. I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

(I am horribly moody today, aren't I? And no, I am not with a little souvenir! I think its the crazy weather. Is it a full moon?)

I forgot to respond to what I put in red but I guess it doesn't need a response except---ain't it the truth!?!

Maybe it's just spring fever. Isn't the first day of summer the 20th or 21st? Whatever---you have a right to be moody whenever you want to.:yay:

Okay...Just to clearify, I've never put down the person in the Crocs, just the Crocs themself. :laughing:Although I really shouldn't. They can't help being ugly.

I'll just be his "sugar momma" for a while. :rotfl2:
:lmao: I love it!!! Sugar mama! :thumbsup2

LITC, is D&D taking the tkers to Hershey? With vacation, I lost track of what was going on with us.
I've got 'em now. My son has been playing with all of you like a small puppet show. He loves them.
Hopefully I remember to bring them to Hershey. Gotta remind me to pack them. I'll be taking them to the beach on Monday when swim lessons start and probably to the big fireworks show on July 3rd. I'll put you in a Corona bottle. :rotfl2:

LITC, I must agree with M&N. Please, please thank your DH for going along with our craziness.

Shmu, you so need to make a flat tker of yourself. We have some big trips coming up and you have to be there. Even though I'm not big on eating sweets, I'll eat some chocolate for you in Hershey. I think D&D gets us next.

Magikitty, it's just a big ol' love fest around here tonight. I really think it's the lack of sunlight during the day.
