OH Shmu, I'm so sorry about the vacation. Been there, done that with people not paying DH for the side work that he does. Not as bad as what you are experiencing but it still stinks.

Congrats on college. That is so awesome that will take all your other credits. Will we have to call you Mrs. Shmu when you graduate?

Thanks Livin....My Dad did say if we have to cancel we can come stay at his lake house for a week. That was so nice of him. He has never offered that to us before. So it'll work out but still............just wish people would pay. We can take legal action but that will take a long time to get the money if we get it at all. :sad2:

Just trying to stay positive. Thanks for listening though. Feels good just to type it out.

Well, I'm tired and need my beauty rest, so I'll check in again soon.:hippie:

Gotta say hey to you Racetrak before I sign off.
Thanks and I LOVE the Ms. Shmu....:rotfl2: made me giggle.
Now I can have happy thoughts while I'm getting my beauty rest.

Night gals:hippie:

Prof Shmu......you guys are killing me....:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks, I really needed the laugh.

Really going now.

Oh, Shmu, I'm sorry about your vacation! We've been in tough positions like that, too. Wonderful news about college, though! I was about a year away from graduating when I got preggers with oldest DD. Hopefully, I'll be able to return one day. (and keep all those credits, too)

Night LITC and shmu!!! Hope you both have a good night's rest!!!

SCHBR'smom, I see you have 5 kids. Got 4 myself. It's my youngest DD that the troublemaker here. She drives me insane sometimes.

Must be something about the 4th child. I think it will be a miracle if I survive her childhood!

Good night!

I knew I should have come on last night!
I missed Shmu. I am just so happy for her going back to college to be a teacher. She really wanted to be able to do that. If Disney does not work out this year, I'm sure you'll be able to make great memories wherever you are. Being with family is the important thing.
SCHBR'smom---did someone explain that those strange people in the pics were the famous Flat TKers? I forget who made us, Racer maybe. If you want to go along with us like that, we'll figure out who made us and get you in the group.
LITC: The pics were just so creative...and funny! It was a great job. I just love my shirt! Putting us in with the animals was very clever. The pic of you and DH was wonderful. Now you have a great pic to show little castle of you two having a great visit to Disney and promise to go back when he/she can enjoy the magic.
Racer---did you get bad storm yesterday? Saw Allentown did.

Have a great day---I'm going to Hershey Park. Don't feel like rides but haven't seen the shows and I need to do a report on them!

MK, are you still with us, or did you blow away in the storms last night? A town in north Jersey had pingpong ball sized hail, and lots of it!:scared1:

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip and about DH not getting paid. Some people are just awful!! How exciting to be going back to college tho!!

LITC, the pix are awesome! I will have to do some like that in Scotland. I hope you are all getting reaady to go "across the pond"!!

Racetrack, we are looking at a cruise over Easter next year (the week before Easter actually), and we stop in Port Canaveral one day, with Universal as an option. So it would be like the last Monday in March, one day, one park (US rather than IOA) US charges $45 for the express pass during peak times, and the boat charges us $50 extra for the express pass. For $5, I'd go through the boat for less hassle. But is it worth the extra $50 and do we need it at that time? I would think it will be pretty busy the week before Easter.

I read DD all your comments about her medals and swimming and she was just beaming. So, from DD,:hug::)

OK, I need dinner ideas for tonite. I have not a thought in my head! Any suggestions? Quick and easy works for me. We had pasta last night, so thats out...

Good morning everyone! Its cloudy out and chilly for June. This month has been so unpredictable so far...

Hi Wendy! Yes, I'm here. I'm more of a day poster, though, so sorry I missed all the fun last night! If you're planning to hit any of the parks during Easter break, I'd totally go for the FOTL pass. It'll be busy and since you only have one day, I'd make the most of it!

LITC...you did such a great job of touring us around with you! Thanks so much for making me shop....you know me so well, don't you? And pooh on you for thinking you don't look gorgeous and radiant in that wonderful pic of you and DH (please say hello for me!). You look absolutely beautiful.

Shmu! Congrats on going back to school! Sorry that the trip may be on hiatus...I'll be crossing my fingers for you! I did read on the budget board though that a bunch of new pin codes have gone out, offering free dining in November...maybe you'll still be able to get some of that magic. But even if you don't make it down to Orlando, you'll still have a wonderful time whereever you are with your wonderful family.

Ok...small vent. Not really as mad as I was last night. BF and I totally got into a row about the Letterman/Palin situation. (And I'm a Letterman fan ordinarily). BF was all about freedom of speech and how it was just a joke. I thought it was in poor taste and a low point for a comedian to entertain at the expense of a young woman. We won't really see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, esp. political ones, but boy was I angry last night! Not so mad now, but I hate it when he's dismissive of my viewpoint because its the polar opposite of his. I'm trying to let it go, but when he's finished "discussing" something, even if I'm not, its over and he doesn't want to talk about it. I didn't think that was fair. Its not that I WANT to fight with him, but I think NEVER FIGHTING isn't healthy or being honest. Ok, vent over. Thank you very much.

We didn't get any of the hail yesterday, thank goodness. But I did see some coverage on the news and that is just crazy! I guess I can't complain that my beautiful laundry on the line got wet with the afternoon showers. At least it wasn't hail!

Have fun for us at Hershey M&N! The more I read about the area, the more I realize there's so much I want to do! Does anyone know where Laureldale is? There's a doll store there that I've read about...

Have a good day everyone!

Oh, I had spaghetti last night! I'm craving fish for some reason, so I think that's on my menu tonight. All that is subject to change, though!

M&N, thank you! I feel so enlightened! I have heard mention of the Flat Tkers but never had a clue. Then when LivinInTheCastle posted the pics I just thought she had a unique way of taking pictures. So good to finally understand what's going on around here! And now those pictures make so much more sense to me. Now if I could just put the names with every face! I have been hanging around here awhile but I've yet to see photos of everyone.

LivinInTheCastle, you look beautiful in the picture! And your little tummy is so cute!

Shmu, I am so sorry to hear about your trip getting canceled. Sometimes things just happen for a reason. Or better yet, maybe it will all work out. In any case, it was wonderful that your dad offered you the lake house. Maybe a trip there will help to make up for it if you don't get to go.
People can be pretty inconsiderate when they owe you money. They never stop to think that you might be counting on it.
That is wonderful news about getting to start college at the Junior level. Good luck!

MagiKitty, I am so out of touch that I really don't know about the Letterman/Palin thing but I can feel for you in general principal. I have 2 men in my house that cut me off when they are done making their point. Like you, I don't particularly like the argument but it is completely insensitive to not listen to the rest of what a person has to say. It happens here all the time and makes me hopping mad!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Morning!!!! Damp and overcast here again. It's like the weather hasn't changed one bit since before we left. It's really making me miss the sunny weather we had on vacation.

Wendy, for that time of year, I would definitely get the express pass. You can only use the purchased express pass once per ride but with only having one day there, that will be plenty. And don't forget you can use the express pass for the shows too. If you have any other questions, I'll be glad to help.

M&N, the big storm actually missed us. We got some rain and lightning but not the full blown storm. That seems to happen a lot around here.

Magikitty, vent away. That's what we are here for.

Here I am, Marie!

Finally, I have a picture where I don't have the biggest head! :rotfl2:

And thanks for the support re: argument. I feel terrible today, but its not what it was about, but rather how it was handled. I'll make amends with him later. :guilty:

Oh! Did everyone see that the boards will be down this afternoon from 5-7pm EST? Just a reminder....

Just a quick fly by post. I'm off to the school for the volunteer appreciation assembly...there'll be cake :woohoo:

Shmu...sorry about the vacation but that's great news about school.

Are you kidding Race? I could barely keep up with you all!!! I think we had a blast together!

Did people not think you were a little weird putting our pictures in all those places??:rotfl:

Can't remember what else I wanted to comment on...oh oh my ride is pulling in the drive...gotta go.

Ok, just a quick little trip report to bore y'all to tears.

We left Saturday morning to a cloudy, overcast sky. Yeah, what else is new around here. Missed all traffic around Baltimore and DC but surprisingly was at a stand still around Fredricksburg, VA. We stayed the night in South Carolina. We slept in a little the next day and arrived in Florida around 11am.

No flat tire around Jacksonville this year. Yay!!! We arrived at Universal around 2pm and of course took wrong turn to get to the hotel. I should know better than to listen to DH's gps. The little hussy on there is always leading him astray.

Curtscamera028.jpg

We make it to HRH and it is absolutely beautiful. I knew DH wasn't happy with how much we were spending on the rooms but once he saw them, he was more than pleased. It was so great not to be tripping over each other like we do at the hotels in WDW.

The kids loved the pool area and couldn't get enough of it. 2 nights, they had a DJ there who held games and contest for the kids. One night, they played a movie poolside and another, they had a live band. They also had a sand volleyball court, ping pong tables and shuffle board.

Michelescamera127.jpg

DD and DS playing volleyball or trying to. Everyone was welcome to play no matter how good or bad they were. It was just very friendly all around.

Michelescamera129.jpg

Caught this sunset one night while sitting poolside while the kids played.

The walk from the hotel to City Walk was quick. It was also very peaceful. DD6 pretending she is a monkey in the bamboo.

Curtscamera081.jpg

Everything about the hotel was very laid back. The employees were very nice and always said good morning to you or asked about your day. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

As soon as I get more pictures uploaded, I'll post about the parks and City Walk.

Is there some meaning behind the posters I'm pictured with?? :rotfl2:

Good news though.....I start college in two weeks. Long story short, instead of me having to start as a sophmore like I thought, the college I am attending took ALL my past credits and I get to start as a junior. So, in 24 months I'll have my teaching certificate in Early Childhood Ed. I'm SOOOOOO excited about that. It's my dream and passion.
Hugs to everyone new and old:grouphug:
Sorry about your vacation. What a bummer!
Very happy for you to be finishing school. I did the same thing about 10 years ago. Went back part-time for elementary education. Was the best thing I ever did. :thumbsup2 Congrats Mrs. Shmu!

.
Have a great day---I'm going to Hershey Park. Don't feel like rides but haven't seen the shows and I need to do a report on them!
Have a great time! Can't wait to hear the reviews on the shows.

Kitty - I'm right there with you on the Letterman thing. That was totally shameful and in very poor taste to say that about a 14 yr old girl - or any woman for that matter. I just hate when people make these sexist comments about women. Now I'm not a big SaraH Palin supporter nor a right winger but I am fully behind her now as she has brought sexism back to the front. Why is that the only "ism" that still okay to be be? And anyone who says those things about her or women in general and then says that they are not sexist is a total LYER.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

Love your pics Racetrack. Saw them on FB and now here. Makes me want to go to Universal and Daytona soon.

Much quieter day here at the D&D house. No visitors. Just the sound of Sponge Bob and Game Boys in the background - for now.

Had to go and get a new antena yesterday. Since we don't have cable or dish, we have to use the old fashioned rabbit ears. Think we're doing pretty good though. We can pull in 50+ stations of over the air TV and get most other stuff off the internet. DH is only sad about not having cable when all the NASCAR races go to ESPN in a few weeks and you can't access them on the internet. :headache: He's been really getting into all the different camera shots you can get there vs. regular TV.
