Afternoon ladies. I did shovel a bit earlier, but since it was getting warm it was wet heavy snow. I did not last the 100 calorie burning 15 minutes though. Too yucky. I hope it got warm enough for it to melt away, but last time I checked, there was still snow outside. A girl can still hope though...

I bought a mini herb growing kit today. I've been doing well with the jade plant I bought for Chinese New Year (well meaning its still alive) and I had to buy a new planter for it. I've decided to try my hand at growing fresh herbs. I'm ordinarily quite terrible at growing things, but my limited success has inflated my ego and my ambitions.

I have some bare spots in the yard but still piles where I shoveled. It's mdown to the first snow level. The seeds I threw out for the birds showed up yesterday!

Hello!

Finally got a chance to check in. Had to sub for 3rd grade today and all I can say is "I NEED A DRINK! Maybe even several!" Wow! Bickering and fighting...Mrs. Currier she said/did this! Mrs. Currier he said/did that! OMG I felt just like that by the end of the day.

I tried to stop by this morning before I left for work but the stupid computer was running slow. Or maybe it was the stupid internet. Whatever!

I think all our husbands are pretty AWESOME for going with us to meet our "fake" friends. I'm just like you ladies in that I'm shy when I first meet people but after I get to know you then all bets are off. Heck give me a couple of drinks and the process doesn't even take that long.

Yup, I'm there for the next 2 days. There are only 3 kids that are getting on my nerves while the others aren't too bad. I'll survive as long as I can come on here and vent away.

How big is the class? Third grade is hard...they think they know everything and are big enough, yet they aren't.

There are 16 students but it feels like 100 when there all yelling out "Mrs. Currier, I need help!" Actually, only 4 or 5 of them are yelling out but like I said it feels like alot.

I'm around too. Just off shopping on my favorite website.....Minimus. All they really sell is travel size products. I could spend hours there just looking at things I might need for our trip. I think I'm addicted.

Some things are cheaper than you would find in the stores and there are things that I just can't find in stores too. I just find it easier than trying to dig through the travel size aisle in the store and hoping that they have what you want.

It usually makes me cringe to spend $1.00 on a travel item when for the price of an empty container I can just use some of what I have at home. I figure for the crusie I'll have to pack the small stuff.

I don't buy the shampoos and stuff like that. I just bring out big bottles since there are so many of us. But they sell individual packets with a antibacterial hand wipe in them and stuff like that. They also have little individual eyeglass lens cleaning cloths.

Also, DD8 only eats one kind of cereal. She's very picky about all foods. They sell those little travel servings in the plastic bowl of the kind she likes. I always order a few of them. She'll eat one of those even when we stay at the hotels that have the free breakfast. It just makes things better for her to know that she has something she really likes for breakfast.

My friend got us Sea World fun cards today. It says they are for FL residents but the AAA sold them for us too. We were going in Dec but had no extra time when the weather was good. We can use them until the end of the year so I guess I'll be going back!

Cowboy Logic:
A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."

The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.

The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."

The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.

"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking. Hasn't affected my brothers though."

You should have posted that earlier. DD14 and I were trying to explain those hats to DD8. She had an assignment on Dr Seuss tonight. The teacher gave the students a goofy sounding name and the kids had to draw what they thought it looked like, Dr Seuss style. Part the name had the word plane in it so we were trying to explain the hats with the propellers on them.

How many trip to FL are you gonna go on this year?
