So the dr. finally called me with results - no gall stones. :cool1: Bad news is still don't know what's causing this. Next step would be a scope but I don't think I'm up to that.

DL55 - Good God -100s!!!! I'd be melting.

JO - Hope things continue to get better for you. Colds STINK!!!!

Marie - Love your "Its Alive!" pic. I  at that one.

Good morning ladies! Its rainy and gloomy here, and oh so humid. It started last night just as I was getting back from Long Island, which is fortunate.

I did so much driving yesterday I just want to veg today. We left after nine, and headed to Jersey first. Went to the Chinese grocery, then to the Filipino box place. After that, I headed to the Holland Tunnel and got stuck. There are only two lanes in the tunnel, and one of them was blocked by an overheated van. So what should have taken a few minutes took nearly an hour--and that was even before I got into the city!

Drove across Manhattan then got stuck in Queens. Didn't realize it was the Belmont Stakes (who knew horse racing was so popular?) and just crawled for miles.

Finally got to my cousin's house, and my sister and her boyfriend were already there. My niece Alicia is already walking! Running! Into everything! She is still so sweet tempered, going to everyone and just letting you do everything. She's awesome.

The party was fun and oh so filling. The only sticky moment was when George (the BF) was talking about the apartment that he and my sister are moving into....uh, Dad didn't know that they were going to live together. I guess now he knows!

Got home in record time and with minimal incidents. Maybe got a little hot tempered in the Bronx, but who doesn't?

Pepper--good luck in AC....remember LLLUUUUVVVVV the machine!

JO--hope you're feeling better!

D...glad to hear there's no stones, but bummed out that there's still no diagnosis.

Tires--welcome aboard! Glad you stopped by!

Hi Sukie! You didn't kill us!

DL55....that is some very hot temps. Is that normal? What will August be like?!

Hugs Walter and LITC....and everyone else!

Going for my coffee and yummy leftovers....good tv tonight! Drop Dead Diva versus Kate Plus 8, with a sprinkle of MTV movie awards followed by Breaking Bad!

D&DDisney It's nice to know it isn't stones but frustrating when they don't know what it is. :headache:

MagiKitty Your drive through NYC was exactly how I picture a drive through NYC would go. :rotfl2:

Only got to 104 yesterday..better than Carlsbad..111! Still a few more days like this. We don't have humidity..maybe 20% it's usually even less when it's this hot. I don't pay attention to the humidity report. I do notice evaporative coolers don't work worth a d... during thunderstorms. The T-storms usually start around the 4th of July (big suspense..will the firework show go on? :scratchin). Usually our temps are low to mid 90s. I have decided to bring the fan with us since we have no AC in the pop up.

Evening everyone! We were suppose to get hit with that horrible line of t-storms that moved in from the west. And amazingly, they totally missed us again. It rained and it's windy now but otherwise, we got lucky.

My sinuses are still killing me and it makes me feel tired. But I am drinking OJ even though I don't really like it.

DL55, a nice dry heat sounds great to me. Even though I love the heat, the humidity here is horrible.

MK, I think I would love to drive in NYC with you. I bet you could teach me a few new words. :rolleyes1

Hershey Park Happy! It was beautiful there this afternoon. It was raining here but told my friend...we're going...take an umbrella. The sun came out, it was cooler, got windy, but beautiful. Not really crowded either. The concert was only 40 min but really good---Just an Old Fashioned Love Song! One of my favs! We walked back to the Boardwalk but the water area closed at 6 today.

Must go...gotta watch Kate + 8! I need to know all the bad things people will be talking about...:rotfl:

Glad Sukie didn't kill us...I would not blame her anyway!

Hey M&N! I think we are watching Kate tonight. Curt wants to see if she is any different.

I'm watch8ing Kate for an hour then watching Breaking Bad. I don't think I could handle two hours anyway...I do hope the kids are adjusting ok.

We got some pretty bad rain/wind this afternoon. Then it got freakishly sunny afterward.

How are you feeling JO? Are you taking something for the sinuses?

It got beautiful here too after the rain went through. And right now, it is wonderfully (for most people) cool.

I have some Tylenol Sinus stuff to take at bedtime.

Its freakishly cool here, crazy compared to yesterday. I have a blanket on.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to print that out for Jackie. She loved the Twilight books so I'm sure she'll like this.

I'll have to check that out Kitty--Thanks.

I got sick of Kate crying and everyone saying how wonderful she is. I did like seeing how the kids have grown. Maddie hasn't changed a bit!

It hasn't been 12 hrs...not dead yet!

Good morning! Sunny already, hope it stays this way.

Last night's Kate really made me want to go to Discovery Cove. BF doesn't think he'll be able to do it though. I'd love to play with the stingrays. I also want to do one of those Everglades airboat tour.

Mady really annoyed me. She's going to be lovely once puberty hits head on. The kids are still really cute though. I missed the second hour, I'll have to catch it later on this week.

I need to complain about my sister for a bit here. She's finishing up her residency this month. My parents have been asking about her graduation ceremony, she kept saying she didn't want to go. Now she wants to go. Its this Friday, so now everyone has to scramble and make plans for this ceremony at 8am! I just think it was so selfish of her...even if she didn't want to go, she knew the parents did and sometimes you just suck it up for them. Now she wants us to go coz other people's families are going to be there. I think its just inconsiderate of her, but I"m glad she changed her mind. Its a big moment for my parents and they want to be there. I just dread having to drive into the city at 5am...

Other than that, I have a lovely breakfast of mangoes waiting for me...

JO...did you get that novella to print out? I tried, but it came out so small...I can't figure out a way to change the size.

That's awesome M! Aren't they cute? Weren't they stinky? I can't wait to see them...

Who was the band yesterday at the concert? Was it really crowded?

Good morning! It's pretty cool here this morning....had to put pants on the kids this morning. And it's not even suppose to hit 80 this afternoon.

I was off reading a thread about school field trip and chaperons buying treats for the kids in their group. It was an interesting read how other parents feel about it. That is, until it got nasty and then locked.

We only made it through about 20 minutes of the Kate show last night. The little ones sure are cute but that wasn't enough to make me watch.

MK, I agree, sometimes you just have to suck it up for other family. And honestly, it still sounds as though she isn't doing it for your parents but rather so she doesn't look out of place when everyone else has family there. But like you said, it is important to your parents and it will be worth it in the end.

I didn't try to print that novella out yet. Curt has to stop and pick up some printer ink. I forgot. When I do, I'll let you know if I can get it to print bigger.

Good Morning!

It has got cooler here too, but not as bad as it sounds out east. Kids biked to school in shorts and sweatshirt.
Its the last week of school for all of us. Yay! In a few weeks I'll post my "Back to School" ticker cuz we'll be driving each other nuts. Just going to enjoy it while I'll can.

Kitty - Congrats to your sis on her accomplishments. I'm with JO it does sound like she's only doing it because the others are. Any way, in the end, all that matters is that your parents will be there proud as can be!!! Good luck on the early morning drive. Maybe it will be easier???

JO - I have to say that I did read some of that thread. And, after having just been on a field trip with our primary students, I have to say that I AM shocked at how parents act. They volunteer to chaperone but then either have no clue that they are supposed to watch ALL the children or that they treat their own child to something while the others watch. :sad2: More of that "special snowflake" syndrome.

I'm off to run errands. Have a good day everyone! Make sure you wear pants today. ;)
