Tkers...Killing threads seven days a week!

No 90* weather predicted here. Every day next week is suppose to be in the upper 70's except Wednesday when it's suppose to be in the mid 80's.

A/C weather here. We'll be in the 90s all next week. We had one day that hit 100 on back porch already.

Kerrie, I would take that weather any day of the week here.

I forgot to ask, have you given any thought to names yet?

The weather isn't bad until the afternoon. And, it doesn't bode well for the summer. Last year we had lots of days at 110. DH works in the heat, so I feel pretty bad for him that its already this warm.

As for names, Victoria for a girl, Vickie to shorten it. Mack for a boy. DH likes Axel, but it sounds like a stunt man name to me. Especially with the middle name he picked, Jaxon. Imagine calling Axel Jaxon out the back door, you'd expect him to come through the back door riding a motorcycle through a ring of fire.

I like Victoria. It's very pretty and it always makes me think of one of my favorite movies, Beaches. Now when you say Axel Jaxon, I think of the movie Action Jackson. If DH gets his way, you should start a savings fund for the motorcycle. Mack sounds like the kid who is friends with everyone.

DH works outside too. But the heat doesn't bother him as much as the cold. But either way, the extremes just suck.

I'm extremely nervous about getting them on. Trying to figure out some good recipies to have for food. And trying to figure out how to video tape the event effectively. Any tips would be great!

Thanks SCHBR's mom! :tinker:

Are you going to video tape getting your braces put on?

Thanks for the info Kitty! I do have an appt. for Monday so hopefully I'll know then. Its not stabbing pains just this awful feeling of being too full like my stomach is going to burst. Probably stress related.

And...to add to my stress, our water heater decided to start leaking tonight. :headache:Always on a Friday night after hours right. Just never a dull moment. Cold showers for all tomorrow!!!!

Ev- on your parents anniversary. Glad your mom is doing okay. Anniversaries can be so hard.

Kerrie - I LOVE the baby's new due date (my b-day:yay:) I'm :cheer2: for the 16th.

Lilmiss - Don't fret too much about braces. I can remember being sore for a few days but not too bad. Just missed eating apples (not sliced) chewing gum, and eating other hard foods.

We had to replace our water heater the week before we left. And don't get all excited about the baby coming on the 16th, he/she is coming on the 9th MK and I outvote you 2 to 1!! ;)

Axel Jaxon sounds like a wrestler to me...definitely not a lawyer or accountant!!

Wrestler, I can see that. Unfortunately, with such a bold name, he would probably be quiet and shy.

JO, the extremes are definitely hard. We don't get as much cold weather here, so it probably isn't as bad for my DH as yours. Also, he works at a body shop, so they can close the doors and run heaters. So, while it isn't warm, it also isn't as cold.

D&D, the day before we left for Disney, our septic pump went out. :headache: Here's hoping you don't have any cold showers.

DD2 is out of bed, time to catch her and put her back. Good night!

Wrestler would be good too.

DH worked at a body shop when I met him many, many years ago. He loved that job and one day wants to go back to it. He now does commercial roofing and it can get brutal. But the extreme temps can sometimes bring out the best of times. For him, having a snowball fight a couple of stories up in the air is fun. Me....not so much.

Have a good night!

hi guys, .... beautiful baby name!!!! I love Victoria.

rain and blah here. I ruined my printer..left the window open and have it on a small table in study .. by window. just my luck.

Lilmiss, why would you video getting dental work done.:thumbsup2

Good morning ladies! I had a terrible night sleeping. I'm full of phlegm. Its not really allergies full-on, no sneezing yet. Just having a hard time clearing out my sinuses. Took drugs, waiting for them to kick in. Its also overcast today, which makes me just want to loll around in bed.

How you feeling D? Sorry about the leak. Hope you have warm water in your future.

Gina, sorry about the printer. Do you have a Staples near you? They have the HP deskjet F4480 for $60. Its a pretty good printer.

Mere, I think it would be great if you took some "before" and "after" braces shot. I know it must be scary to think of all the adjustments you'll have to make while you have them on. But again, its just temporary and the outcome will be so worth it!

I love the name Victoria, and Mack has lots of personality. I have an entire list of names that BF can choose from. I figure, the baby gets his last name, so I should have more of a vote on the first name. He doesn't like the less traditional names, like I do. It also doesn't help that everyone else has children and has taken some of my names!

If I had girls, one would be named Maruja Rose, after my great-grandmother==pronouced Maroooha and my Mom. Or Maru for short. I also like the name Jeremy for a girl, but BF will have none of it. I liked Abby and Madison, but that's BF's nieces names already. I also like the name Bennett for a girl, after Pride and Prejudice. Boys? I like the name Owen Robert, Robert being after my Dad (and me!). I also like Austen and Alcott. Can you tell I like literature based names?

ugh...have to get some tea in me and try to clear my chest out....

Ugh, so much to comment on!

The DIS has been running slow for me so reading posts has been taking forever.

Magi: I think the name Bennett for a girl would be pretty cool. :thumbsup2

D&D: Sorry that you're not feeling so good. I hope the Dr. can figure out what the problem is and get you back on track.

lilimiss: I believe that everything is going to go just fine for you. Are you getting clear braces or colored ones?

BKMETV: So where are you now? How is the weather? Are the kids having fun or are they bored?

Gina: Oops about the printer. I would have been so peed off!

Schber'smom: I've seen those ultrasound pictures on TV before but have never experienced one myself. How cool is that!

M&N: I'll have to check out that website. I'm always interested in WW type recipes. I've lost 9.8lbs so far!:woohoo:My goal was to lose 10lbs before Hershey so I don't have much to go.

DL55: It was very warm here yesterday. I think my thermometer read 80. Supposedly we are suppose to stay in the upper 70s to low 80s all the way through to Wednesday with Tuesday being near 90. Not sure if that will actually happen or not.

marie: Hi! Happy belated Birthday to DH!

pepper: :woohoo:for your trip! Mother/Daughter trips are so cool!

Not much going on around the Pikester house. DH is off at a bike race, DS12 is headed to school in a few to work on a Social Studies project (His teacher has had the classroom open for the last couple of weekends so the kids can get some work done) and DS9 is playing the Wii. At some point I have to get the recyclables to the center and I might use the GC I got for Mother's Day to buy some flowers or a garden decoration. There are also a number of chores that I need to get done before Monday so I can use my only day off of the week to run some errands.

I hope you all have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Don't you all ever sleep in??? :lmao::lmao:

It's cloudy and yucky here today. I knew the sunny weather couldn't last. And they want rain for the next 2 days.

I never thought of Bennett as a name for girl but now that's you've mentioned it, it is pretty cool. I haven't given baby names a thought in ages. Oldest DD was named after Jacqueline Kennedy. I always found her to be such a fascinating and strong woman. Middle DD is named after a character on GH. Youngest DD's name is just the only one we could agree on. But it fits her so well. And of course, DS is named after DH.

I'm debating if I should do our grocery shopping today. Sundays at the grocery stores are getting more and more crowded lately and I hate dealing with crowds.

D&DDisney Hope you feel better.:flower3: Dr MagiKitty gave some good advice. :teacher:
lilmiss I didn't have any pain with my braces, never bothered with soup. I had them as an adult.
SCHBR'smom I knew there would be only one. ;)
BKMETV I've always wanted to take the train to the Grand Canyon. It sounds great.

Mkgaapril, sucks about the printer. I hate having those kind of days.

JO, good luck with the grocery shopping. I can't stand crowds either. It seems like it takes longer to check out than it did to find everything.

Kitty, your names are so cute. Sorry about the allergies.

D&D, hope your feeling better today.

Hi everyone else!

Glad you all like the name Victoria. DH actually picked it while standing in line to ride Test Track. DH is quite the car guy and all our kids are named after cars, my idea, not his, suprisingly. DD10 is after a Shelby Cobra, DS is a CJ (jeep), DD5 is after a Harley, DD2 is a Bonneville, and DD1 is a Rubicon (jeep). Spellings have been changed and the accepted nickname for the vehicle was also used, hence Bonnie, not Bonneville, etc. It's not completely obvious and the kids love to explain all their names to other people. Victoria would be for a Crown Victoria and Mack would, of course, be a truck. All their middle names begin with "J" because that's what DH wanted. He usually picks that name.

Kerrie, that is so interesting about the origin of the kids' names!

JO, you're the night owl. I have to be in bed by 11:23. So I"m up earlier than you!

I try to avoid the stores on the weekends. We have a lot of weekenders here and the grocery is just madness! If I had to choose, though, I would probably go tomorrow, earlier in the day. I would think it would be less crowded then...

Pike, super duper congrats on the weight loss! Brava!

Pike, I'm getting the Damon Brackets. But they can still put colors on them, that I'm really excited about seeing as I work with children and wanna liven things up occasionally. Might as well have fun with it.

:banana::woohoo: WHERE ya staying?

Coronado Springs. We like the way it is all bright and festive.

You check in on the 18th?

yep

:cheer2:
Guess we know what night we'll be doing the monorail drinkfest!!!
Dont' forget to bring your refil mug. :thumbsup2

I'm getting me a refill mug by golly!!!! I already told DD

pepper can be our escort....I think we might need one. :rotfl:

Pepper, we are going to try and get together and meet? Wished I could have met you last year when we past through your area.

I wouldn't miss it!!!! I am so excited. When, Where etc...:banana::yay::yay:

I was so bummed I couldn't come to the TK'r meet because of a previous engagement (that makes me sound so fancy when actually I have a seminar for work that week ha ha).

D&D, I'm no where near nice enough to be Mrs. Duggar, so you'll have to go with Septomom. :thumbsup2

BKMETV, your trip sounds like so much fun. We used to have an rv, but not a driver, 5th wheel, then a bumper pull. Those were some of our favorite vacations. :cloud9: I miss having an rv. But, I don't miss the payments.

Pepper, congrats on the trip! :cheer2: I would have to take a mother and daughter and daughter and daughter and daughter trip.

Oh, and Good Morning!

You have 4 daughters? That is awesome!!!

Good morning. I did my good deed and took my 2nd mom to her eye dr appointment. She was worried that her cataract had grown but things were good. The dr said she had great eyes for 83!

Great about the mom/daughter trip Pepper---but maybe you need to stay away from our headline seeking TKers! Their goal is to be the topic of a DIS thread! (Maybe you can write it!)

Glad the camp last night was peaceful...keep away from the bad weather.

BTW---It is never too late to complain to Disney is it? After all, you need to be home for a while and read how wonderfully others were treated to realize you were mistreated! Just say you read on the DIS...;)

Ha ha. I have never been a topic of a thread before! Does that make them a bad influence if I am slightly excited by the thought? :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh boy! Pepperw23 is going to DisneyWorld! :dance3:

:yay::yay::yay:

WOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!

Today me and DD did a yard sale to pay for airfare and guess what???? We earned every bit of it.

We are booked on SW Airlines and we arrive at 9:55 am on the 18th. Our flight leaves Norfolk at 7:00. Maybe I will be too tired to be freaked out...Oh I do hate to fly...

Now I have a dumb question that I can only ask my TK friends (Remember I don't fly a lot) But How in the HECK do I get my plane ticket? All I have is an email confirmation...Do I take that with me?

Pepper, way to go on that garage sale! :cheer2: I can't help on the tickets because we don't fly. It's much cheaper to drive with 5 kids. And, yes, 4 of them are girls. Who knows, after Dec we could have 5. (My poor son....)

Pepper, I haven't flown Southwest, but with other airlines, you usually have to swipe a credit card at a kiosk and they'll print up your boarding pass for you. Or you can always go to the desk for help.

Evening! The race is on but I have to watch it on the computer. It's on one of the only channels we don't get with our cheapo Direct TV package.

Pepper, I am so excited that you and DD get to go. I know we don't have any plans on Wednesday except for dinner ADR's.

Oh, and I can't help with the plane ticket either. We don't fly for the same reason as Kerrie.
