I thought about you last night. Did you see there was a show on the Travel Channel called Best places to eat Bacon? :woohoo:

:headache: Dang it! I missed it. I'll have to keep a better eye out.

Happy Thanksgiving, TKers!!!

Time to rest. With all the cooking, dishes, and never ending laundry, I'm worn out. Now if the baby would pop out, I could rest comfortably.

I hope all you shoppers enjoy your day tomorrow. I'll be finishing off the spice cake instead of shopping. :goodvibes

so, how does everyone spend their T-day evening? I'm going to try out Taylor Swift and later Beyonce. Maybe I'll shake it along with them.

I just finished frying up my egg rolls. They turned out pretty well, if I may say so myself. But goodness, I hate frying. But you can't bake them. Its not the same.

Evening everyone...glad you all sound like you had a great day and should be rested for BF.
I was hoping we had a new TK baby but I guess not!
I'm leaving here at 8:17 for the Big Apple! I got a ticket...was afraid it would be sold out. My friend was taking her mom but she didn't feel up to it. Her husband is taking his mom. they want to go shopping but we are going to take the bus that you can hop off and on. It depends on the weather as to how much we hop off...definitely want to get off at World Trade Center site. We also are going to do the night one. She's done it before. Sat we are going to Radio City---love the Christmas show there. We leave there 5:17. I think it's a little over 3 hrs on the train.
I'm going shopping on Monday...really do not need anything.

Umm, I spent my T-day evening having quite a few drinks. :lmao:

Just wanted to update here.............both my brother and Sil came for dinner and football. My nephew had a blast. He played with our kitties and ran around the whole night with the girls. Complained when it was time to go home. :goodvibes

I hope you all had a nice T-day and good luck shopping tomorrow.

Good morning...I know I'm a day late but Happy Thanksgiving all...didn't make it on here yesterday...between work and dinner out I only had a quick check on FB. Sounds like everyone had a day yesterday...hopefully everyone is getting lots of good Black Friday deals. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say a quick hello.

Hey!!!! :banana::dance3:

Wanted to stop by and say hello,

Hello!
1.gif

Hope y'all had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was AWESOME! For the first time in like 12 or 13 years, we had the entire family together for the holiday! It was such fun sharing the kitchen with my sister and my niece, and my brother when it was time to mash the potatoes (his annual contribution). My sister's niece was with them, and she took some "official" group photos of the 10 of us. It will certainly be the last time we're all together for TG, and who knows when we'll all be together again at all? It really sucks having family 5000 miles away!!

Last night I cleaned up, did dishes, and went to bed early. Today I had to work until 12:30, and then DS and I went to my BFF's to pick up the puppy, who had spent TG with them so my Dad could have a dog-free holiday (he's allergic). He did NOT do well on his first visit there since he went blind in January. He drove my BFF crazy, she got NO sleep, and he even pooped in her bed!:scared1: I feel terrible that he gave her such a hard time. He does seem relieved to be home.

DS and I went to the storage unit to get all the Christmas stuff out. I've done most of the decorating already, but not the tree, and I can't find the wire to hang the wreath. Gotta go to Michael's tomorrow for some stuff, so I guess I'll pick up some wreath wire there too. I refuse to shop ANYWHERE on Black Friday--it's my personal tradition!

Hi all just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend since I didn't get a chance to come on yesterday. I hope you all had a great time with family and friends.:goodvibes
Now the madness begins.:santa:

Boy was it crazy in NYC! So glad I did not want to do any shopping. It was so crowded around Macy's that we could not even see a bit of the windows from our Grey Line bus. Times Square was jammed! I would never want to be there New Years Eve. Did you know they keep the ball up at the 2010 until the next NYE? It was pretty. I did get a bargain---went in the Swarovski shop in Rock Center. Both of us got the special---at $100 necklace and earring set for 50. We ate lunch---$19 burger, $4 ice tea---in the little cafe that is right at the ice skating rink. It was fun watching them---most could not skate! We took 2 of the Gray Line bus tours--you can hop on and off at their stops. We did the downtown loop so we could get off at ground zero. You really could not see anything. The church right there that served as a center for the volunteers has a really neat memorial to them. It is so amazing that not one window was damaged in the church. It had a lot of debris in the yard but no damage to the building. It's called St. Paul's Chapel. We ate at a deli at Times Square called Roxy's. The omlet was only $18. We had to go in the Hershey Store and the M&M store. Then we took the nighttime tour that goes over to Brooklyn. The top of the 2nd story of the bus was not on for winter yet and it was rather breezy. Thankfully we had ear muffs. We had only 4 blocks to walk back to the Hilton and we got hot chocolate to go with the gingerbread cookie we got in Hershey store. Sat am we had breakfast and went to Radio City---of course that show is wonderful. We sat in the 2nd row---from the back. They picked that on purpose--great view. We had lunch at McCormick and Schmidts (not sure of the name). I just had a bowl of clam chowder and a salad---about 22 with tip. Next we hurried to do the Top of the Rock. I had never done that. It was wonderful to see the view BUT it was soooo cold! Very windy. By then it was time to head back to the hotel and pay $4 for them holding my bag and head to the train station. It's about a 3 hr trip...depending on whether you get on that has fewer stops. All in all---great time!
I'm back off to mom's tomorrow and Monday!
So who got snow?

Sounds like fun Martha! But a little cold for my tastes.

We didnt' get snow, but we did have a lot of sleet.

I did some shopping today. Looked at bikes for Danny, but at $300 it just ain't happening. Guess I'll go look at WalMart or ToysRUs after the weekend. Went to the pharmacy, and made 2 trips to Walgreens to get my Christmas cards done. The big trip was to Michaels. OMG, the lines! But I really really needed a few things, so I had to wait in the line. It was about 15 minutes. That's what I get for shopping on TG weekend, which I NEVER do!

Now I see why I've never taken the kids to NYC. We would spend as much for food there as we do in Disney. ;)

Sounds like a great time though. But I'll go in the fall or spring. Can't take the cold temps either.

We got snow on T-day. Woke up to a nice covering on the grass. The roads were a little slick for a while but it soon melted away.

Good morning ladies! We got some snow yesterday, but nothing that stuck. Just enough to ensure panic in me that winter really is here.

My tv arrived yesterday! My sister and I were doing the obligatory dozing on the couch when we heard someone on our porch! It was the FedEx guy struggling with our tv--it was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday. So yesterday was spent hauling televisions around the house. We assembled the tv and its stand, removed the old-school hearvier than he** tube television and installed the new one.

So the dilemma was what to do with the older 36 inch tv. It was decided to remove the old chopstick tv in the kitchen and replace it. It was crazy heavy but its done!

The new tv is beautiful. I was unable to get my blu-ray player on Friday...so I'll have to wait for full television amazingness!

Shopping went well, as did family dinner on Friday night. My nephew and I have made peace, I was still uncomfortable with him since our incident in September. He didn't really think I would be so upset about it, and I told him that I was. So we're okay now, I guess.

We also went upstairs and got all the holiday decor down. We put up the tree and started wrapping gifts. The mess is insane though.

M....NYC is pretty much nuts most weekends, but isn't it fun? As long as I don't have to drive and park, I love the spirit of the season. I love Rockefeller Center and Times Square and walking down 5th. Yeah, food is insane but we usually eat at those little dive joints or go down to Chinatown.

Wendy! Darling you visited! I'm so happy! Great to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family. I hope you have many more happy family memories altogether.

Hope everyone is having a continued wonderful weekend. Since we ate at my brother's on Friday, no leftovers here. Sadness. We ordered pizza last night. I actually miss turkey and stuffing sandwiches!

Kitty, I've got more leftovers than I know what to do with! I'll send you a turkey and stuffing sandwich--do you want cranberry on that too? That's what I had for lunch yesterday. Today I'll do turkey salad. Gotta get most of the stuff into the freezer.

I'm doing something today that I NEVER do--skipping church. I am just too darn cold to go outside right now, and it's always freezing in there anyway. I'm gonna hunker down under some blankets, crank up the heat, and drink some hot cocoa. It's a rare Sunday that I'm not singing, so I'll take the opportunity when it arrives. I know, bad girl.

MK, have you ever made Asian Noodle Salad? It's sort of like coleslaw, but it has Ramen noodles in it for crunch. I have two different recipes. One uses the flavor packet from the noodles, the other doesn't. Just wondering which one is better. I've tasted the one WITH, and it's to die for. But all that salt and chemicals...:scared1:

I'm late leaving for Mom's. She's making half a turkey breast so I will have leftovers! I never put the filling in the sandwich but love the cranberry sauce in it!
I'm going shopping tomorrow---still crowded but not as much. I usually have to stand in line at Michaels but not that long! I think they had good sales too.

Morning Ladies:

MK...glad to here the TV arrived ok.

Oh I'll have one of those sandwiches....nothing beats turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo!!
I'm planning a couch day myself...sending DH out to get more bulbs for the tree.
My salad recipe uses to pkgs of ramen but only 1 pkg of the seasoning.

Hi Martha...have fun at Mom's.

I usually double the noodles, one of the packets. I sometimes use the other packet in water and boil chicken to slice on top to give the chicken extra flavor.

Its cold here too---but bright and clear. My niece, nephew and sister all left today. They left a bit early, so hopefully they won't run into too much traffic.

I have to brave Staples this week, but it shouldn't be too bad in there. I'd like to get the new Glee album and Fantasia, so I'm thinking maybe on Tuesday I'll go out. Again, depends on the weather.

I'll take cranberry on that sandwich! Yum!

Its a day of Hallmark movies, cleaning up, and wrapping for me over here. Leftover pizza maybe. Definitely some strawberry-rhubarb pie. Fruit and vegetables--its practically healthy. Add some whipped cream for dairy and I've got my vitamin D covered too!

Thanks for the salad info. Gonna try it soon.

I worked on cards, helped the kids decorate the tree, and now I'm going to take a nap. DD has swim tonite. Ugh. I hate going out in the cold dark night.
