And I'm sorry if I sound extra crabby today. In addition to the window mix up and siding not coming in, I have received some other bad news about 2 friends that seems so unfair. Sometimes I just wish I had a magic wand and could make all this go away or be alright, you know?

I had a hair appointment today the same place Mom goes so I went and got her. Was I glad I did. I've had about 5 in since last night...mom's gauge was over flowing at 6! It was pouring---just gushing down the street. She had to walk through a mini stream coming down the sidewalk....she's on a hill. I've never driven through so much water. After we ate lunch it poured again---thankfully we were in the grocery store...just pounded the flat roof. There was a huge puddle around some of the cars. Some of the roads were flooded where we would have gone home. Thankfully it was only a drizzle when we took the groceries in. On the way back here I ran through another downpour but it slowed when I got on the bigger road. How exciting...and there's more to come! Schools were getting out early too. It's still going a little and then strong. It sure got humid too. Little Miss Positive here just had to think---thank God it's not snow!

There you are, M&N. We have tornado watches out again until later tonight. We got over 3 inches of rain in 3 hours today.

Has MK checked in today? She should be in this band of wet weather too.

D&D, you better have given them hell for what happened. I think they are just trying to drive you insane.

They are doing tornado watches around here too. My dogwood tree is really blowing out there. I hope it's over before it gets dark. I was glad I had Patrick through that water today.

It's raining like a son of a gun here! I had to drive I89 for an appointment and I was scared. 65 on rain slick roads was not fun! A couple of times my traction light came on thank goodness. Good to know it was working; I think I was hydroplaning. I keep hearing that it's going to rain harder tonight!

Evening ladies....yes, I was out in this terrible weather! It was relentless! I started to hydroplane a few times, no matter how carefully I took the road. Glad to be home!

M...thanks for the notice. And I'm PO'd too at how life if sometimes. But I believe in prayer and love to get us through everything.

ooh, just checked. No jury duty tomorrow! I'm excused for the next four years! Woo-hoo! This has never happened...I've always had to show up for court and more often than not, serve on a jury.

Pat did fine in the rain...it was hard to see sometimes with the rain coming off the other cars. I did not go the speed limit all the time. I was with a slow group---only 55! I am so glad I didn't take the back raod. The news was full of closed roads. I just cannot believe how stupid people are going through water. Someone got stuck in water in her van and the fire dept had to use their ladder to get her off the roof. Stupid thing is, it always floods under that overpass. They showed anoter picture of a stupid man on a scooter going through water. I am so thankful I made it ok today after seeing all the crazies.

Morning Everyone! Though it's only me here.

Rain has finally stopped. It's just icky here. I saw the weather forecast this morning and they are saying more rain for next week. I know we need the rain but enough is enough.

MK, congrats on not getting picked for jury duty.

M&N, lots of roads closed this morning because of flooding. And of course, during the worst of the rain last night, we had an accident almost in front of our house. Poor visibility and people just flying up the hill here like it was a beautiful day outside. Idiots.

I know only too well how all that rain at once feels. Yikes! You all stay safe and dry. Been thinking of all the east coasters these past 2 days.

Flooring people are here and putting in the new floor as we speak. Looks good so far and its the right color. Imagine that!

Okay, I'm just going to open the flood gates and be a real "Debbie Downer" here, but I have to get this out or I'm going to go crazy.

Yesterday I posted about the windows coming in but being the wrong color (after only 10 weeks and no one checking the order) which was bad enough. After they left I had to go pick up the kids from school and 2 other boys cuz I was watching them for the afternoon. With 4 boys running around the house I didn't have time to go check on the window job. DH gets home and looks at the windows and finds that the installers just did a total hack job. One window is broken (crack in it) the other has dents and scratches - BIG ones. The broke or hacked up all our cedar trim on the outside which wasn't scheduled to be replaced cuz it survived the tornado, but not the install. The cut away some of the drywall and window sil on the inside and left dust and crap all over and did a total hack job of that too. It looks just awful!!! I had to just cry because I didn't know what else to do any more. Been trying to get hold of the owner of this company all morning to complain but he's "not in yet" is the answer I get when I call every hr on the hour. I am so right now.

Then last night the boys discover they are missing one DS unit and a DS game from their rooms and we're not sure if the friends we had over took them or what. We've looked everywhere and are quite sure they were in their rooms as of that morning. Don't know if I should call the other mothers to see if maybe something walked away by mistake or what. Dont' want to be accusing cuz we can't be 100% sure.

Lastly a friend of mine who has been trying to have a baby for quite some time found out that the IVF proceedure they took out a loan for didn't work and she's not pregnant - again. So not only are they without a baby but now in the hole for $$$ for all the medical stuff.

Just so unfair I tell you - so unfair!!!!

Glad to hear no one has floated away.

D&DDisney I have no words..

I had a fun time. Really enjoyed the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Weather was great.

I thought we were in the movie "Brigadoon" while camping in Ventura. We left around 9 am on Friday, the campground was empty. We get back at 7 pm and all the sites are full with 2-3 cars and 2-4 tents! We leave Sunday at 9 am and return around 7 pm and there is no one there and the park roads were barricaded (closed)! We had the place to ourselves but it was spooky.

Crap D&D...what's going on there? You need to call Mike Holmes on HGTV. Do any of the neighbors have the same contractors? Did you have to pick these because of insurance? Little Miss Positive here is not able to come up with a positive statement right now! Except---I'm positive it sucks!!! OK---At least the floor is good...isn't it???

It's been windy today...the sun did come out.

I'm going to an Apple Festival tomorrow...my friend who had the stroke is not sure she can go---tummy problems. Pray for her---she needs to get out.

I'm afraid to hire contractors after watching Holmes on Homes.
DH didn't hit a ball across the GC..it's 10 miles across at the narrowest. Probably be arrested if he tried.

Welcome back DL55!!! We missed you. You always have such interesting trips. How was the family? Did you have enough to drink?

M&N - I've never seen that show. Only get to see HGTV when we're at a hotel or at my mom's house.
The other people in the neighborhood have different contractors. We were able to pick who we wanted and went on a referral. This company had a very good reputation and did some very nice work. Wonder what happened?? Apparently they are having trouble w/ their supplier but that doesn't excuse their shotty work or poor customer service.

Our floor is in and looks very nice. Its a little darker than the old stuff and tends to show dust a bit more, but overall I think we're going to enjoy it.
