TIW vs DDP for our trip

After studying menus and prices we decided to buy the TIW card for our Aug 27-sept 7 trip. We are two adults and two girls (5+4).Here is a breakdown of our daily food OOP cost.

11 days on the dining plan would have cost us $1760.00.

We brought about $20 in snacks with us, granola bars, trail mix, and candy. At the non buffets we brought leftovers for lunch the next day. We always had grapes or carrots leftover from the counter service kids meals, that they ate later as snacks. Now we have another trip coming up that we can use the card for. TIW was definitely better for us.

Definitely worked for you guys, but we'd never get by on what you ate! And we're not huge eaters by any means. But, for example, on 9/5 you only had donuts and one meal? Even with a few snacks brought from home, we'd want more than that. Splitting one sandwich and one kid's meal for dinner wouldn't cut it either (9/1). Or one flatbread and one kid's meal for lunch--might work if we had desserts and/or sides with it. But that wouldn't be close to enough for us. Of course, each family is different! But we'd be starving....

That was a rare day we didnt eat dinner because the crystal palace reservation was for 2, but we didn't get in til about 2:30. By the time we left it was almost 4. The beach club was doing smores by the pool that night and I was the only one who wanted one. The other day you mentioned lunch, we had a lot of food left over from the wave the night before, so it's not like we only ate the 2 counter sevices. I know as the kids get older I'll have to reevaluate which is a better deal.
