TIW question

I'm doing some number crunching for our Oct '12 trip and am considering purchasing at TIW card. In the spirit of full disclosure, we're planning early October, 6-7 nights at a moderate, and we're trying to decide if purchasing one AP plus a TiW card makes for a better deal than hoping for a promo code and/or free dining, and possibly ending up at a value.

Almost every place I look says that you get a 20% discount at participating Disney restaurants. Included in that list are non-Disney operated restaurants (Epcot WS locations etc), but no mention of whether the discount is still 20%. The official Disney website lists different discounts that differ depending on time of day- just to add a little more confusion to my already numbing mind.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? :confused3 This is not my first Disney trip, but my first time planning with AP/DDP/TiW considerations thrown in the mix.

I would ask if I were just over thinking this, but then I realize this is the DIS - and that's just a silly question! :rolleyes1

If you are looking at the official Disney website, then what you are likely looking at is the list of general annual passholder discounts at restaurants - not the TIW list.

And yes, TIW is still 20% for ALL meals at participating restaurants (excepting the blackout dates).

Ok, that makes sense now. It wasn't clear when I was looking at their official site.

Thanks! That's great news!

TIW is great. I would definately recommend purchasing an AP. You also get other AP discounts, resort rooms and tours. There was a thread on here awhile ago about the tip being added to your bill also. We love this part as we do not have to figure it out.
